Surfers Cottage Rye - Relaxing Coastal Retreat

One step inside the door and this modern coastal retreat will have you at hello. Relax, unwind and enjoy the beauty of the Peninsula from this perfectly located and recently renovated holiday house.

Surfers Cottage boasts a spacious layout, filled with loads of natural light and an open flowing design. The living area is tiered down from the dining & kitchen creating a relaxed and casual feel. Large sliding doors invite you from the living area onto the deck which is filled with morning sunshine. Here you can put your feet up, sip on coffee, read a good book or just listen to the birds in the tree tops. The property has three good sized bedrooms, two of which boast ensuites, and a further main bathroom, generous in size with a stylish freestanding bathtub. In addition there is a heated outdoor shower perfect for when you come back from a fun day at the beach or after a surf!

You can explore our coastal playground, as the property is only moments from the popular Tyrone Foreshore, Beach Sixteen and Rye Ocean Surf Beach. Pack your bags, an endless summer holiday awaits.

An absolutes beautiful house to spend a weekend or week away at. Host provides everything you need. Three bathrooms is quite a treat. Backyard is amazing for bbq and drinks in the evening. A quick drive to the rock pools and beaches that are not too busy. Would stay again.

Enjoyable return stay

We enjoyed our stay at this property so much last year that we returned again this year! We love its location between the bay and back beach . The house itself is in a lovely serene location, with lots of natural light. We love the peaceful elevated deck and beautifully maintained and inviting backyard . Our host has been so amazing to deal with on both occasions
.So fair and accomodating and on our return visit , left us a whole range of treats ! Highly recommend

Xmas 2022

We took our parents and adult children for the Xmas break. My daughter got there before me as arrived she opened the door she said, the house is really really nice. Everything was perfect. The only change I would suggest is blinds on the back sliding doors. Will definitely book again.

Blissful girls weekend away

I was really impressed with this place and the accuracy of the listings. Immediately happy with the cleanliness of everything. It had everything we needed for a girls weekend. Including 3 good sized rooms and 3 bathrooms. The outdoor space surprised us how spacious and beautiful it looked and we enjoyed dinner outside. The only downfall was there was no curtain in the main bedroom which if you’re happy to wake up at 6am then that room is for you. And the other 2 bedrooms had sand on the sheets. Maybe not washed properly? Other than that we loved this house and would return again. A coffee machine would be a nice addition too being a 5 minute drive to a cafe. Thanks for having us.

We loved staying in this beautiful home. It is thoughtfully decorated, with a relaxed coastal atmosphere, and offers lots of seating options both inside and outside so we could spread out when we needed to. Beds were really comfortable, and it was fabulous having one bathroom per bedroom! The host, Effie, was lovely to communicate with and had provided many extra touches such as a coffee machine with beans, milk, and snacks. The area was extremely quiet, yet a short drive to amazing beaches. Thank you Effie!

Amazing house! Came into a really nice clean house with everything we needed. Fold out bed really comfortable, and the outside area is amazing to sit around and have dinner. Effie was a lovely host and she owns an amazing house, highly recommend her house

relaxing vibe and comfortable

The property is very well presented and a good layout. A few things were missing that I am used to in a property that lists as 5 star such as hand soap in the bathrooms, towels being provided and a few stock items in the kitchen such as salt, pepper, oil etc. Also there was no hairdryer in any of the bathrooms.

Amazing location and gorgeous cottage

The stay at this property was absolutely wonderful, the cleanliness of this house was nothing short of amazing. I couldn't fault anything with the property or the stay itself. The only thing we found difficult was the screenings on the driveway which I think either was fresh or heavily wet from the previous rain as when we went down the drive the car skidded leaving ruts. Other then the drive ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE 5 STAR! Thank you so much!

Stay at Rye

The place was great and beautiful. Check in/Check out process was very smooth. Communication with Effie was easy and he was reachable. We enjoyed the place but there are a couple of things that when incorporated would make this place super great : - wifi - atleast netflix on the TV (there are time when you might like to watch it) - Some basic things like handwash, shampoo , conditioner , hand towels, kitchen towel in the kitchen - this helps because you want to travel light and not bother about a lot of stuff to carry on But overall great stay! Thanks Effie!!

Ideallic coastal retreat

This house has a great feel to it as soon as you walk through the front door.Beautifully presented and clean ,light filled house with a wonderful and very practical layout . The 3 bathrooms is a huge bonus Great outdoor deck overlooking the trees. For us ,a great location 
a quieter part of Rye with easy access still to both Blairgowrie and Rye shopping strips Mobile/internet reception issues at times was the only difficulty. Host Effie is extremely accomodating with prompt response to any communication . All the family including teenage boys look forward to returning !

This clean and tidy property met our needs. Comfortable and spacious with all the amenities required for a short stay. Probably worth noting that you should bring own towels and pillows. It really is a beautiful space and we would def look into booking again!

Great location and lovely property.

This property is not your traditional beach house, situated in a quiet neighbourhood. All restaurants and activities are about 10 mins drive. If you like to cook your own meals and enjoy a quiet time this house will be perfect. Unfortunately the mobile internet coverage is shocking. We all love home cooked meals do we enjoyed the fully loaded kitchen. Overall enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful Spacious Clean House

Easy rental process. Effie was lovely to deal with. House had a beautiful feel, plenty of living space & bedrooms were comfortable. Three bathrooms fabulous. Well appointed kitchen, had all we needed. One minor point was that there was only one bin bag & 2 dishwasher tablets, not quite enough for family of five for 3 days. Great view, highly recommend

3 toilets is a great idea & worked well. There are no curtains in the lounge room so it’s very bright on the morning. You need to pack your own hand soap & towels

Beautifully presented property

We stayed for 7 nights during the Easter school holidays. The property is beautifully presented, very comfortable and perfectly located for exploring all that Rye and the Mornington Peninsula has to offer. Highly recommended.
