Fun cosy cottage on the south side of the beautiful Ngunguru River

You'll be staying in an easy living 2 bedroom cottage on a large bush block set high on a ridgetop with 360 degrees views of the surrounding bush, the Ngunguru River and Ngunguru township. There's a 2.5km driveway down to the Ngunguru River where you'll have access to our private jetty (booking required). A beautiful wetland, stunning bush walks, high hill look outs, picnic stop along the way. Please let us know what activities your interested in so we can accommodate as jetty require booking.. Please see our house rules for bookings. If you're wanting to book within 24hrs of check in pls call us before booking. We are located half way between Whangarei CBD & Tutukaka so you're in a perfect location to explore the local area, the Ngunguru river, and the stunning Tutukaka coast and beaches. Nearest supermarket is at Tikipunga. It's a very quiet rural location that feels secluded but is very convenient. We have been hosting for 3 years so please see our reviews.

Steve is a great host.allowing us to be able to have our beloved cat with us in between moving homes was a blessing thankyou steve!. my partner and i were quite happy to lounge around, but there is plenty to explore,and the greatest view from the house itself, which was also clean and well presented and with every amenity you could possibly need, such a peaceful quiet place, a great place to get away from it all.

Functional and with a beautiful view. Could benefit from some maintenance and a deep clean. The dog smell is omnipresent. Might not bother you when you bring your own pets.

Noted Christo, I'm unclear on this review given you were here for 6 days and didnt mention anything. Deep cleaning occurs after every guests and if you look at the reviews for the past 3 years you will see that. If you'd been more forthcoming with where this deep cleaning would be needed we would have done so immediately. But without any positive or helpful feedback we are unable to understand what you mean. Very disappointing review and at a loss as to why you would have such concerns and not mention anything for 6 days

Stunning views and all you need

Had a delightful stay at this place. It is a little off the beaten track so to speak, so for exploring there’s a little bit more to do but the surrounding area is breathtaking, the house is ideal for a small family of couple, everything you need. Such a great couple of nights here.

We loved staying here. It is so peaceful. We felt refreshed and rejuvenated after our stay. A great place to unwind. The views are beautiful and the sunrise and sunsets were spectacular.

we loved this place, Steve was awesome to deal with, fishing off the Jetty was great, we will go back, highly recommend.

Art and ocean

The house is very comfortable with 2 good sized bedrooms and big living/dining areas. There are some beautiful pieces of art and an excellent book collection. The view is amazing and the property has some hidden gems. We were here for 3 nights and loved every minute. Host is great!

This place is quiet, clean, and really well set out, comfortable. magnificent views, the best comfortable beds, and pillows, tank water is a plus . The host is available, and check in and out was a breeze. Many thanks Steve, hope we can return 1 day.

What a beautiful place to wake up! This is a perfect place to be off the grid and enjoy the outdoors. Cozy cabin with everything you need and Steve was very helpful and welcoming! Our two teens loved all the outdoor space.

We had a lovely stay in this peaceful bach. Great location between Whangārei and Tutakaka. Lovely views over the trees and over the water. Bach had everything we needed for a long weekend. Thank you for having us.

Overall good stayed

The location is great with amazing view. Short drive to Tutukaka and Ngruguru township. The house is functional with all the amenities and great wifi speed. The toilet and bathroom have smells that needs to be look at.

Hi Victor, thanks for the 4 stars and feedback and glad you enjoyed your stay. FYI we've had 4 new 5 star ratings since you stayed, and I've asked each guest if there is any septic smell in the bathroom or the toilet. They all said there was not, so I stayed there myself and also I can confirm there is zero septic smell in the bathroom or toilet now. But thanks for the heads up and we'll make sure we keep up with the treatments we use each month to ensure the septic system stays healthy, Cheers Steve
