Dreaming of a sprawling, stunning Captiva Island home that’s just steps away from the beach? Longing for a private poolside oasis under swaying palm trees?  Welcome to the Palm & Shell, a stunning vacation home that offers the best of both beachside and poolside luxury.

We believe every day on Captiva is something to celebrate and we've furnished the Palm & Shell with that philosophy in mind. Our huge chef’s kitchen and dining area are appointed with every convenience for dining in, carrying out and everything in between. Our spacious and comfortable living room offers plenty of gathering space and family-friendly amenities, including a smart TV, DVD collection, high-speed Wifi,  large reading library and card and board games.

The soaring, screened atrium, lanai and pool bar will surely be a favorite gathering spot for relaxing, grilling, and chilling. Enjoy our large, heated pool and hot tub, day and night.

Our private beach path is just steps from Captiva’s famed South Seas beach. We provide beach chairs, umbrellas, a beach cart, beach toys and everything else you’ll need. All you have to worry about is enjoying yourself!

The Palm & Shell has 5 luxurious bedrooms and sleeps up to 12. And while the home doesn't include resort amenity access, you won't want to leave except to enjoy some of the many nearby restaurants, shops and island attractions. You can even rent a golf cart to get around quickly and easily.

While you won't have resort amenity access, you won't need it as our home has everything you'll need and there are several restaurants just outside the gates of the resort for you to enjoy. 

Important Note: The elevators are currently functional; however, as they are mechanical items, we cannot guarantee they will remain operational during your stay. Please note that refunds will not be issued in the event of elevator malfunctions.

Important Note:
Please be aware that, as of now, there are no ongoing repairs or construction within South Seas Resort. However, should any construction occur during your stay, kindly note that we do not issue refunds for disruptions caused by repairs or maintenance that are beyond our control.

**Shared tennis court is still under maintenance due to the hurricane. As an alternative, you may use the beach villas tennis court.**

Great beach vacation spot for family

This was the perfect spot for family beach vacation. The house was in great shape, kitchen well equipment for cooking in, kids loved the pool area and great to be able to supervise from the overlooking porch and or course location so close to the beautiful beach was great to go back and forth to the house and beach when needed. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful Vacation with family

This was such a beautiful home for a vacation with my 3 children and their spouses and my grandchildren. The location to the beach was so close. The pool was amazing. Everyone had an amazing time and looking forward to another vacation there.

Paradise All Around

The location, house, amenities and everything else associated with our stay at this home were perfect. We were in regular communication with the owners via text, and any question was answered within a few minutes. The pool, hot tub and private path to the beach (2 minute walk) were the highlights. Views of the gulf from the second story and even the kitchen were welcome surprises. We will be back again for sure.

Perfect!

Beautiful big house. Well appointed. Heavy rain caused a bit of overflow in the pool but problem was taken care of immediately. Highly recommend. Signs of hurricane recovery permeate both Sanibel and Captiva but everything you might need is open for business (though limited). Our stay was heavenly!

Thank you for sharing your feedback about your recent stay. We understand your frustration with the pool and plumbing issues you experienced, and we apologize for any inconvenience they caused. We want to assure you that we responded to your concerns as quickly as possible. As soon as you reported the pool heating problem, we dispatched a pool technician to assess and address the situation. Similarly, we immediately contacted a septic vendor to resolve the plumbing issue. Regarding the pool heater, we understand it can be frustrating when things don't work as expected. We are actively investigating why the control pad was not functioning correctly and will take steps to prevent this from happening again. We also want to address the plumbing issue. While we understand accidents happen, we kindly remind guests to avoid flushing anything other than toilet paper to prevent clogs and backups. This is standard practice for all plumbing systems, and it's especially important in areas with septic systems. We appreciate your understanding and hope that despite these challenges, you were able to enjoy other aspects of your stay, such as the beautiful location, comfortable accommodations, etc. We value your feedback and are committed to continually improving our property and guest experience.

The property was great, the view was top notch,What was aggravating was the fact the listing stated the lawn care team would be there one day throughout our stay. And they were there the ENTIRE trip, the noise was unbelievable while we were trying to enjoy the pool in the mid-morning. I tried to sit out on the deck and drink my coffee and I could only hear leaf blowers When I contacted the managers of the property they sent some generic chatGPT responses. Our trip was still wonderful having family and beautiful sunsets on the beach. We understood the islands are still recovering, so the noise and the power outage (due to maintenance on FPLs part) was not going to ruin our trip. We were very happy with the children’s room on the 3rd level conveniently located next to the master suite. I was nervous because the house did not have child locks on the doors, and I have an adventurous child. The room was bright & had plenty of toys for the kids to occupy themselves with while the afternoon showers held up the sun bathing. All in all Captiva is and was just as magnificent as it’s always been. We comfortable slept 6 of us but you would have plenty of room for a few more. Thanks for the stay…-local lovebirds

We're especially happy that the children's room on the 3rd level was convenient and well-equipped with toys, and that you found Captiva as magnificent as ever. We sincerely apologize for the significant disruption caused by the lawn care team being present throughout your entire trip, rather than the stated one day. This is certainly not the standard we aim for, and we understand completely how frustrating and disruptive constant noise from leaf blowers can be when you're trying to relax by the pool or enjoy coffee on the deck. We are addressing this directly with our landscaping team to ensure their scheduling is adhered to and that guest peace is prioritized. We also deeply regret that your communication with the property managers felt impersonal or "generic." That is absolutely not the experience we want for our guests, and we are taking this feedback very seriously to improve our responsiveness and ensure all interactions are empathetic and helpful. Regarding the child safety locks, we appreciate you bringing this valid concern to our attention. Guest safety, especially for our youngest visitors, is paramount, and we will certainly consider this feedback for future property enhancements.

Nice vacation home

the home is nice. highlights include the completely screened in huge pool area, which is perfect for kids. the home is tastefully designed and decorated. it's also quite large. on the downside, we were disappointed that we could not check in until 4pm - we arrived about 15 minutes before that and weren't able to get in any earlier. the check out time of 10pm also seemed a bit difficult, and unusual in my experience. during our stay we were advised that roofers were coming out to repair a leak, and some screen repairs around the pool were performed - not a big deal, but it seems like something that ought to be handled when the house is not occupied by guests. access to the beach is through an overgrown path. we also were harassed by some neighboring teenagers nearby. we all agreed it was nice, but i'd have preferred a little more "lax" check in and out times (check in 2pm? check out noon?) , repairs being done before we checked in, and neighbors who had some manners. we wouldn't go back, but it wasn't for the lack of a beautiful property.

Hope you had a great time and we’d love to welcome you back to enjoy a five star stay. In terms of the check in and out times, you may be referring to a hotel, which often can accommodate more flexible times. To get an entire home ready and as perfect as possible for guests on the same day, it requires several hours and an entire cleaning and inspection team. We do clearly state those times prior to arrival for proper guest expectations as well. In any event, our team is always available should you ever have any questions. We do apologize for the minor work that had to occur, however, a tropical system passed their just prior to your arrival which caused a roof issue and damage to some pool screens. We always try to schedule work around guests and in this case did the best we could, but it would be a greater potential issue if we left screens ripped and roof issues not tended to. The beach path is for the association there and we’ll let them know so it can be cut back a bit. They do try to keep it clear but also natural to keep with the entire community. Our apologies on any neighbors children. Again, we’re always available as is resort security if there’s ever a disturbance like that and I would urge you to let someone know in the future and I’m sure the situation could be handled expeditiously

House was fine, but were disappointed in upkeep, cleanliness, hot tub heating and supplies. And house is in need of some upkeep and host on VRBO could be more customer friendly. When I texted office they were helpful, when I contacted contact Ryan on VRBO he was always quick to get back to me but not the friendliest most customer service oriented person. Never made us feel like he appreciated our business on a personal level.

Beautiful Home

This home was perfect for our family of nine. Plenty of room to all spread out! The beach is a very short walk from the house which allowed us to go back and forth with two toddlers for lunch and naps. The pool area is large and all screened in with a mini fridge and a full bathroom plus an outdoor shower area to rinse the sand off. So many pool and beach toys too! We would definitely rent this home again!

The whole family loved the home and it’s location! Having the beach so close allowed us to go back and forth to the house for lunch and naps for the little ones. We definitely will book another stay! Ryan was was fantastic host! Answered all our questions promptly.

It was decent

It was ok for a quick get away but the dryer was broken, and the hot tub only worked for one day out of the 4 we were there. Pool was nice. There were some areas that were grimy areas but otherwise a nice place.

Really sorry the dryer posed an issue. With parts delays, what used to be fairly simple, now isn’t as easy. Again, our apologies on that. We’re working as best we can despite the issues to make sure each guest has the best stay they possibly can .
