We had a great time. Location was good, close to Asheville, easy to get around. The house was clean, bedrooms great for sleeping. I could have used a few more dishes since we cooked meals there, but we made it work. Hot tub was great in the evenings to relax in. We would stay again.
We had an issue the first night with the a/c but it was fixed PROMPTLY after I notified the mgmt. The house has a few minor issues (the master bath floor needs to be replaced rather than covered with linoleum) and thereâs some porch furniture that just needs to go away. Overall, itâs a great property and I would stay there again. Itâs a great sized house and itâs in a really good location.
This is not a cabin, itâs not secluded and there is no privacy. The pictures are a lie and on top of that, they didnât tell us the water didnât work until the day we left for the trip. We weekend of my life
Common spaces were great and beds were comfortable. A few other things could use improvement.
Overall the number of gathering spaces was great, the beds and various types of seating were comfortable, and the lights and fans in the bedrooms were good.
The hot tub itself was great, but the steps to/from the deck itâs on were in rough shape - the bottom one was very wobbly and very slippery when it was wet, and there wasnât a hand rail.
The basement space had such a strong odor we couldnât even be in it, and donât think it should be represented as available space on vrbo given the state itâs in right now (February 2023). We didnât need the beds, thankfully.
Suggestions we have for the property owner, or for travelers staying:
Plastic cups for the hot tub
More coffee mugs
Hooks in the bedrooms, or more in the bathrooms, for towels
Night lights as itâs very, very dark at night
Room darkening shades would have been helpful
Some cooking staples (oil, salt and pepper) would be helpful.
Cabin was great, neighborhood was wonderful. Back deck needs maintenance and furniture there needs to be replaced, all appeared unsafe we never walked out on the deck. Only downside to cabin is it needs some TLC, minor updates, flooring, cabinets. Bathroom in master needs updating, shower was useless, we all shared shower in hall bath. Having half bath on mid level where kitchen/living are is was great. Yard was a bit overgrown, tree down in back and hot tub was removed from small deck down in the back of yard. Only lighting for backyard was one porch light. Cabin Interior was immaculately clean and everything was provided, towels, linens, dishes, cookware, paper goods, toiletries, laundry and dish soap. I look forward to staying here again hoping some minor maintenance/updating on Interior will be done. I highly recommend, we were a family of eight and it perfectly fit our needs. We never went down to lower level except to look in room but there were bunk beds. Neighborhood was quiet and neighbors were pleasant. Great location central to everything.
The cabin was really cute- great location, beautiful trees, and the porches were nice. The beds were comfortable, lots of space to spread out, and everything worked well. There were only a couple of issues with our stay- the kitchen seemed to be missing some things (only a few forks, and no large skillet that we could find), we had an ant issue in the kitchen that took me reaching out, then reaching out again when no one came or updated me on the delay- someone came out the next day, but it wasn't a pest control person that I could tell, it was someone from property management that brought ant repellent you can get at Wal-Mart, and the only other thing I would know before you go is that when they mean there is only a basic starter kit for everything, they mean it- we ended up needing to get olive oil, spices, dishwasher pods, etc. so if you are planning to do a lot of cooking you may want to bring that stuff with you.
This property was fantastic. All the charm of a cabin but in town near all the things like grocery stores. Very convenient! Central to all sorts of NC adventures. We did hikes and rafted in rapids and swam in waterfalls. And the house was a perfect retreat at the end of the day. Loved that it has a backyard fire pit for evening hangouts. And a huge comfortable couch for my teens to lounge on.
Very convenient location for us. Bed was good. Shower had good pressure and was hot. Cabin needs some work. Everything squeaks and creeksâŠwalking, doors, cabinets, etc. Itâs was first one up and walked thru a cobweb in the hallway this morning. Master bath toilet would not flush and could not find plunger but 2 other bathrooms were good. Deck wobbled with every step and slopes down, away from the house. For us it worked as a place to sleep and shower but would not be good for larger family gatheringsâŠIMO.
The house was appealing, looking at photos on the website, but we thought we would be in the woods, not in the middle of a neighborhood--our fault for not checking into it further. There were dead bees all over the floor in the master bedroom when we got there. We cleaned them up then someone came the next day to spray (again--that's why they were dead, but obviously were getting into the house somehow). Also the other toilet upstairs didn't flush well and you had to wait a few minutes in between flushes for the tank to fill back up.
I want to say that overall the photos of the interior are accurate and the main floors of the house are lovely. However, there are a few things that really limited our stay:
- there is no deadbolt to use on the front door with a large uncovered window, which made us feel unsafe as women traveling
- the âfire pitâ mentioned in the title is pitiful, probably 5x8 and completely dilapidated with zero seating
- the back patio does have a grill but the wood is warped and peeling paint. it literally felt like rotting wood and the picnic table was similarly in disrepair. nobody wanted to use it.
- we didnât use it, but the basement room with the bunk beds smelled extremely damp and was just creepy, i think a lot of kids would have trouble sleeping there, but who knows.
House was spacious, clean and comfortable. The showers are not very good. As a vacation rental the provisions were minimal, both in the kitchen (no salt and pepper for example) no games or books, no wood for the fire pit, no gas for bbq. Too bad it no longer has a hot tub. It would be much better as a long term rental than as a vacation rental. We had items go missing, and little concern from management.
This was a perfect home in a quiet residential neighborhood that was accessible to everything. Restaurants, shops, and of course the Biltmore House. My daughters and I had the best time, and the house had everything we needed.
We loved our stay...we called it a charming cabin in a neighborhood. We were meeting family (with 3 small children) to celebrate birthdays together. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The kids were excited about the bunk beds in the basement with a tv and fooseball table (we called it the kid zone). The Living room area has a huge sectional with additional seating. There was plenty of room for our party of 8. We cooked dinners at the cabin which worked out great. They provide everything you need for that. We enjoyed time in the hot tub in the evening...it was clean and well-kept. There was some things in the yard that need cleaning up around the firepit but we didn't use that area. The charming cabin in the neighborhood is close to grocery stores, downtown Asheville and local hikes which we took advantage of. The driveway is very steep and could be hard to navigate if you aren't comfortable backing up but they also had parking for one car available on the street. We would definitely stay again for a family meet up.
Quaint little house that was perfect for our needs. Good location to many nearby attractions. Quiet neighborhood. Relaxing rustic feel, with plenty of space, big bedroomâs, comfortable beds, and basic necessities. Would stay again if in the area.

Reviewer Comments:
Clean, with most everything we needed. Quiet area, but close to plenty.
This house was exactly what my friends and I were looking for in a nice little get away vacation. It was close to downtown Asheville and surrounding areas we could go shop and eat. The house was clean and very spacious. Thanks!
Great location. Close to all of Asheville. We had a family rendezvous for outdoor fun for kids and a half marathon race for the adults.
Good family space and sleeping quarters.
Clean and equipped with W/D
Everything about this cabin was amazing. Very modern and very clean. It's in a housing development though. Not secluded. P 25 restaurant is two miles away and the food is excellent. Would def stay again.
The home was what was represented in the pictures (clean and nice) but all of the supplies were the bare minimum. Kitchen had essentially 7 plates, 7 bowls, etc. made it really hard to feel âat homeâ with a large group where the kitchen essentially had nothing in it. It was also listed that a starter pack of shampoo, body wash, etc was provided - there was one tiny tube in each bathroom - for 7 ppl, really?! Listing said 10 mins from downtown but it was really 20. We loved the cabin feel of the home but it was located in a pretty full neighborhood with one cranky neighbor who was pretty sensitive to noise. Not bad based on price but definitely had its drawbacks .
Property is in a great location, downtown/Biltmore is 20 mins, Brevard/Pisgah forest 35 mins, Chimney Rock/Lake Lure 40 mins - like the center of everything.
Couldnât be happier with Towns Properties. Put the kids in the hot tub while we unloaded the cars, it was in German and the jets wouldnât work. Reached out to Towns, went to grab dinner, came back less than 2 hours later (6:30 on a Saturday) and someone had already come and fixed it.
End of the trip had an issue with the dryer vent, similarly quick response time.
Great cabin, great location, great propert management team!
