Pack your skis, mountain bikes and hiking boots and get lost in the natural majesty of New Zealand's Ruapehu District. Enjoy cosy vibes and aroma of macrocarpa, a short walk from Ohakune centre.

Architecturally designed, Redrock Hut is the perfect blend of rustic and modern comfort, as featured in the Home Style magazine-Mar 20. Perfect for families & friends seeking adventure & retreat.


The space
Ski, board, mountain bike, play golf, hike the Tongariro Crossing & NZ's best trails or cosy up with a book & a glass of wine. This is the perfect place to shut down and unwind.

Conveniently located an 10 minute walk to Ohakune Town Centre and only a short stroll to the iconic Carrot Adventure Park, featuring a wonderful new bike pump track, obstacle course and river walkway. 30 Minutes by car to Turoa Ski field or 45 minutes to Whakapapa Ski Field. 35 minutes to the start of the Tongariro Crossing - with Shuttle Services to and from.

Nestled amongst trees and paddocks, Redrock Hut offers all the comforts of home in a cosy, clean, fully furnished, rustic cabin. Redrock sleeps 8 guests (6 adults max as 2 top bunks are for children only) in three bedrooms and two bathrooms. There's enough toxic overload in our lives - you don't need it on holiday! We only use eco friendly and toxin-free cleaning products so you can feel cleansed and restored staying with us.

The full sized kitchen and laundry/drying room, offer all the amenities a family needs for their winter or summer mountain adventures.

After a day on the slopes, bike or trails, this is a magical place to unwind with a glass of wine and reflect on the days adventures.

In the evening,, enjoy a movie on Chromecast or visit one of the many wonderful local restaurants and bars in Ohakune Township.

Redrock Hut is designed with love for families, friends, or busy couples in need of a quiet, rejuvenating hiatus. Linen, quality bedding and a cleaning service are provided as well as tea and coffee.

We love Redrick Hutt

This is our second stay at Redrock Hutt and we love it here. Beautiful accommodation, it is well laid out, clean and warm. The location is great, it is a short drive to Ohakune but also walkable using the short cut through to the carrot park. Easy communication with the host, we highly recommend.

A real gem

Great hut

This hut is as nice as described. Great spot within walking distance to the Carrot Adventure Park which my children really enjoyed. The waterfall walk on Ruapehu was a highlight. We also loved the fire pit outside and appreciated that extra activity. I would recommend a stay.

Wonderful stay

Sarah was a great host, who kindly let us reschedule our trip when Covid derailed the plans. The house was cosy and had everything you need. Highly reccommended can’t wait to go back.

My husband, son and I recently stayed for a long weekend. This property is great, warm, well equipped and great location. Five minute walk to the carrot park and a few more minutes walking to get to the centre of Ohakune. Easy communication with the host. I would definitely stay again.

Inspiring and well thought out design

Relaxing, cosy and comfortable little cabin with great design in a good location. Well set up with everything that’s needed for a stay. A nice place to be for relaxation after daytime adventures and for chilling out while watching storms and rainbows through the large windows. Great communication from the owner. We would stay again :)

Warm and cosy for a family getaway!

Such an amazing holiday home! When we arrived the heaters were on which made the house so nice and welcoming. Everything was well thought out, spotless and beautifully decorated. The kids especially enjoyed the bunk beds and the fire pit outside for making smores. The location was perfect for us (with kids ranging in ages 1 - 9), with easy walkway access to Carrot Park. We must also mention Sarah as her communication was fabulous, she is so helpful and accommodating and also provides suggestions on things to do in the area, which we appreciated being our first 'snow holiday' Thank you Sarah. We hope to stay again and will be recommending Redrock Hut to others!

Perfect bach for a holiday

We loved our stay at this unique bach. Everything was so easy to organise. We found the bach to be exactly as it was described and pictured. We used it as a base to explore the walking and cycling trails in the area. Such a warm and welcoming home to return to at the end of the day after all our activities. Fantastic bach

We have stayed in lots of baches all over NZ and this has to be one of the best. We really loved the overall feel of the place, inviting, comfortable, stylish but down to earth. We particularly liked the big lounge area and the sun pouring in in the afternoons. Happy to recommend and would be very happy to return.

Great base for touring

We visited for a weekend away, mountain biking, walking and eating (some drinking too). The Bach was a great base with plenty of room. Great atmosphere. The kids loved having the play park down the road and we visited after dinner each night.

Everything about our stay from check-in to check-out was effortless. Sarah is an amazing host and seems to be readily available and accomdating at all times. On top of the property being exceptionally stunning, it had everything we needed to make our weekend away feel like we were right at home. We can't wait to go back!

Loved everything about our stay, from the warm welcome and soft fairy lights in the hallway, to the calm and natural interior, full of personality. Late Summer Delight

We had a wonderful time at Turoa. The house is delightful, bright and artistically decorated. The location is perfect - a short walk from the surprisingly charming town of Ohakune with coffee, restaurants, shops and services - and within easy driving distance to the magnificent Tongariro National Park. We stayed two weeks and highly recommend it.

Awesome hideaway

Wonderful cabin that's just the right size: cosy & intimate yet plenty of space. The afternoon & evening sun is amazing in the living space and the outlook gives a surprising amount of privacy & serenity. The native plantings are lovely. Great job guys!

Well equipped and tastefully decorated modern bach

The Bach is modern, well equipped with new appliances. It has been tastefully decorated in a rustic way that gives a good vibe. The living area has a nice outlook onto Bush/farmland. The owners are very helpful and approachable.
