A lovely Victorian home conveniently located in Historic Hot Springs.
We were especially impressed the owner texted each morning with tips to help us enjoy our Time in Hot Springs. If you like historic homes, I highly recommend this one!
Kathleen is the best property manager that we have used with a vacation property. She gave us tons of information for the area and all the instructions to access the home were clear. Not to mention, the house is STUNNING! If youâre looking for a Victorian home, decorated to the era, and close to bath houses, this is your place.
The owner Kathleen is so attentive and welcoming of guests to their home. She makes you feel as if she is there in the home attending to your needs herself.
There were 8 of us staying in this house. The place is huge and very beautiful! We had plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen is spacious and well furnished, the beds were comfortable, and the location is very convenient to all the sights in Hot Springs.
A couple of things that I haven't seen mentioned in other reviews that I thought might be important, especially for those who are older or have problems with their backs and knees. You must be able to navigate stairs that do not have railings to get into the house. The main entrance is through the back door and the stairs there are rocky, narrow, and have no railing to hold on to. We had an 86 year old with us that had a difficult time particularly going down these stairs. Once inside the house, she had no problem. These stairs and the location of the carport to the house (up another set of stairs) also present a problem getting your luggage in and out. If you are not able to carry your bags up and down the stairs, you might think twice about booking this house. You will not be able to roll your bags in.
The bedroom with the 5 twin beds is really two beds with trundles and a day bed. The room itself is narrow so I don't think there will be much room if you have to pull out the trundles for sleeping. Fortunately, we did not need them.
There is only 1 TV in the house and it is downstairs next to the kitchen. That was not a problem for us but something others might want to know.
We loved the house and would absolutely stay here again. The owner was very quick to respond to all my questions.
The house has so much historical appeal. Lots of room for sitting around and visiting with family. Close to the downtown center and convenient access to the major roads to get around the area. Kitchen was big enough to cook in and had been recently redone/upgraded. There were 7 people in our party ranging from 14-87 years old and we all had a great stay. All the bed rooms are upstairs but we all managed it fine. There is one downstairs half-bath. All in all, a great stay and I would definitely stay again if in the area.
We always stay at the Arlington, and we were definitely missing out! Our group goes to the races almost every year so we were looking forward to the open infield this year compared to last year. The house was roomy and clean. The photos donât do it justice. We enjoyed the fire pit in the back patio, and just the whole atmosphere of the house. We were able to investigate the history of surrounding area on Park Avenue and it was very intriguing. Of course we are history buffs and enjoy all the great stories in the area! It was our best trip yet!
Beautiful 1897 Victorian Queen Anne on a hill near the downtown strip on Central Ave. If you enjoy a large home tastefully furnished with period furnishings, this is your place.
