NO CABLE, Wi-Fi, or Satellite!! Get Away From It All! Welcome to living A-top of the water and welcome to living A-little small. I would describe this place like a tiny home. If you are tall and donât do well with tight small spaces, this is NOT the place for you. This adorable A-frame is equipped with everything you should need to enjoy a weekend A-way from it all! It is a two bedroom and one and a half bath with a sleeper sofa. This tiny A-frame sits on two acres in Yellow Creek. If you need to launch anything, Houston recreation area is 4 miles away via road.
If you are looking for peace and quiet this is your place. We enjoyed the deck and the view of the beautiful clear lake! The cabin is not fancy but it was cozy and comfortable. The worst part is the road to the cabin. Something really needs to be done with it.
The cabin was nice - right on the water. We were close enough to two restaurants that we liked and the hiking we came for. And the hosts were very responsive.
The A-frame was cozy and felt like home. Directly on the water, so the view was amazing. Bring your fishing gear!! Also, not having WiFi was a well needed break from our phones that we didnât know we needed. Loved this place and hope to come back!
The cabin was amazing; very clean with everything we needed for our brief stay. A great re-model by the owners. Close to the Sipsey Wilderness/Bankhead National Forest where we enjoyed hiking. We fished off the dock at the cabin and enjoyed the beautiful view of Smith Lake, one of our favorite places to be. Near Chef Troy's Talk of the Town restaurant, very good food and service. Just a suggestion for the owners-you may want to mention the driveway being very steep and rutted. We were in a 4x4 pickup and had no trouble at all, but anyone using a smaller car may bottom out in some spots. Just a heads-up would be worth mentioning. Overall, a fantastic stay! We will certainly be back. Thank you to the owners, great little cabin!
We loved this cabin! So relaxing. We definitely want to return. Limited cell service⊠a little bumpy county road, and a steep drive way but all made for a great relaxing getaway! Beautiful, calm mornings in a quiet cove. Perfect for kids to swim and chill. Only a few minutes to Chef Troyâs or lakeshore!
Wonderful little A-frame cabin in a secluded location at the lake. Really nice deck and floating dock to enjoy the lake. Property has everything you need for a few days of solitude.
The A Frame is perfect for a couple. This was our second stay at this property, and although there were some weather related issues (4 degree temps), the owner was more than accommodating.
The property was just as described. It had a fantastic view, wasnât too crowded and the house was just perfect for us. We loved that it was unique. The only issue we faced was the road down to the house. If we wouldnât have been in a 4 wheel drive truck Iâm not sure we could have made it; although itâs not the fault of the property owners. Just something you need to know if renting it.
Cozy little cottage, not close to much so itâs perfect if you want to Get away! Very rustic and woodsy! Like camping off the beaten path, but with all of the comforts! Beautiful lake! It feels like living in a tree house.
I absolutely love how this house sits right on the water. We literally fished from the front porch. It was perfect for two people. The county road leading to the driveway is rutted but we made it fine. Once you get to the ownerâs property it is a concrete drive. Although steep, it is in good shape. The county road is what could use some work. Overall great location, loved the house, and would definitely stay here again.
This was a quiet stay. No one else around. We went during the week so typically less crowded anyway. Loved the old/new cabin feel. Swimming was great. No boaters to contend with. Had planned to eat out at least once but ended up getting everything we needed at Publix in Cullman.
We had a great short trip. The only issue was being unsure when we arrive to the dirt road if we were in the right location. The dirt road looked like a dead end. We finally decided to go forward and then could see the road continued down to the lake. We would recommend this look spot to others. We needed a day away from cell phones and email so no Wi-Fi was fine with us. Plus the view from the deck was perfect.
When my Wife and I were looking for a mini vacation, my first words were quiet with maybe a little fishing. If you like the sound of birds and the wind rushing through the trees, you have found your happy place. A most excellent choice for couples with perhaps a small family. We must have missed the whiporwhill season. I was hoping to hear them again. The fishing on Smith is always a gamble so prepare to catch a ton or none. The surroundings are top notch! Silence.....ahhhh!
This is a great small home! It has everything you need for cooking and mixing. The patio has a great view and we enjoyed our stay! Not far from the Lakeshore marina by car or boat. The driveway is a little steep but if you know how to drive then youâll be fine. I suggest bringing some dvds or cds if you are there on a rainy day and I suggest some games. We were stuck there on a rainy day and brought our own games which helped. We will be back! My father in law and son drove 4.5 hours to the house and they said they loved it. The bed on the main floor is cozy and perfect! Love this house!
We had a great weekend overall. The worst part was the driveway and no warning for how bad the driveway/washed out road is if bringing a boat.
The communication about the non service was great and good to know before hand. The house itsself and the boat dock in the water was great. House was adorable and cozy.
The only and main issue we had was the drive to the house. We brought our ski boat and were not warned at how terrible the drive to the house was. The road is washing out to get down the hill to the house so it was more than difficult to get down with a ski boat. Our boat scrubbed the ground where the wash outs were. Thankfully we were in a F250 to pull it down/up. There was no warning about the drive. My mom was in a SUV Infiniti and she spun tires trying to leave because the road was so bad and also basically went "mud riding" in her car. Over all the house was great but highly suggest bringing F250 and not bringing a boat down the hill.
