This sunny Cape in Katama is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood about two miles from South Beach. An ideal family retreat, it features a comfortable vacation layout inside, and generous outdoor space, with farmers porch, deck, large front and backyards, and nicely manicured landscaping.
The Country Cape has an open floor plan with vaulted ceiling and beams in the Living area, plus integrated Dining area and Gourmet Kitchen with breakfast bar. A sliding door opens to a large mahogany deck with outdoor seating and dining area.
There is a Master Bedroom Suite with en suite bath on the first floor, and two additional Bedrooms, and a Sleeping Loft on the second that share a full bath.
South Beach is a two mile car or bike ride away, while downtown Edgartown is a mile.
10/10 - Incredible stay!!! Our host was fantastic - extremely communicative, warm and accommodating. The property is charming and beautiful - truly the perfect vacation rental. The location cannot be beat - you get the best of both worlds being minutes away the heart of Edgartown yet tucked into Katama's peaceful, natural tranquility. Will absolutely be visiting again and would recommend Seashell Cove to anyone.
My family and I had a great stay in this lovely home!! The house had everything we needed and was a great starting point for all island adventures.
Charles was so helpful throughout the entire trip. We would most certainly stay here again!
This home was spotless and extremely comfortable and well decorated . Beds were very comfortable.... showers were great with a bonus outdoor shower which was used by our group. We had the opportunity to meet the owner , who was very lovely. Great family time for a family wedding!
Weâve been vacationing on the Vineyard for over 30 years and absolutely enjoyed our stay! The house is in perfect condition and Charles managed every step to perfection. This is a beautiful house on a private paved road and impeccably maintained. The layout is terrific with a large master suite on the main floor and three bedrooms upstairs (one is in the loft). The furnishing and beautiful private deck and yard makes you feel comfortable from the time that you walk through the door. Everything was great, including the easy one mile or so commute to both Edgartown and South beach. Would definitely return!
The plan was to have 5 women stay 2 nights. 4 women ended up joining. The house was beautiful with a wonderful set up, however upon arrival we found that we could not play our music CD's because the internet was not connecting, the door didnt lock when we tried to leave for the day (it was electronic), and wouldn't lock after contacting the manager and following instructions repeatedly, and then soon found later that they left us 5 towels in total for two days. There were also no hand or face towels, or kitchen towels. The towels that we had smelled of mold. Finally the check in time was 4 of on Friday and 10 am of Sunday. Why would anyone expect a check out time of 10 am on a Sunday morning. In all fairness it should have been at least 11 or 12. These many issues became increasingly frustrating.
A magical relaxing home perfectly needed after a crazy busy wedding days in Boston. We were able to have a dinner for 12 At the home and everyone thought it was great, including someone who owns and rents on Vrbo! Thanks to our host for all your excellent help and information. We will be backâŠ
We were 2 miles from South Beach which is great in the morning with few people on it, and close enough to town for an easy bike ride.
Being away from town allowed us to go explore the rest of the island .
The bedrooms are comfortable, especially the master bedroom
and loved the outdoor shower. The outside table and lawn and chair set are also very comfortable . Kitchen , dining and living room have good open space plan. Great getaway home.
Really enjoyed everything about this property. Location, cleanliness, amenities. Charles was very responsive and answered all of our questions. Highly recommend!
The house is immaculate and beautifully decorated with beach decor. Very comfortable 3 bedrooms and a loft bedroom and 2.5 baths. The master bedroom suite was perfect - all bathrooms and kitchen are updated. The house itself seems pretty new. Charles was incredibly responsive from the beginning and throughout our stay. We paid extra for the sheets and towels which was definitely worth it. The weather did not cooperate, so we couldnât use the outdoor space, but it looked great. The neighborhood is quiet but an easy 1/2 hour walk to town. Loved everything about it - would definitely recommend!
Terrific home in the heart of Katama.
Easy walking distance to Edgartown.
Easy access to bike path on the triangle and biking distance to South Beach.
Clean, comfortable and well appointed home.
Great deck, yard and outdoor shower.
Everything you need for a fantastic stay on MV!
We had a perfect experience at this house during our long weekend on the Vineyard! The house was clean, comfortable and spacious - and a great proximity to Edgartown. Charles was also a great host - super helpful and quick to respond to any questions. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this property to friends and family!
My family and I had a mixed experience with this property. Though the house itself is charming and in a great location, there were some inconsistencies between the listing and the message we were sent before arrival including the wrong check in process and a different linen and towel policy (please note that you need to pay extra and specifically request linen/towel service). Although the property manager was responsive and helped rectify the issues, it still caused some unwanted stress on our first night with my older relatives.
Great accommodations for outdoor adventure in Edgartown
My family of 5 + 1 set of grandparents recently enjoyed this rental for an in-state âspring breakâ getaway. The home is meticulously cared for, very clean, and provided everything needed for sleeping, cooking/grilling, and dining in, and entertaining, while also ideally located to area attractions. Due to weather, our trip was about a 50/50 split between exploring the Island and kicking back in the home, and this rental worked well for both. The home layout perfectly accommodated our group with 2 upstairs bedrooms for kids and a master suite on 1st floor, which in our case went to the grandparents while wife and I slept comfortably in a upstairs loft area. Beds were very comfy, everyone slept well. Open floor plan felt spacious enough to spread out for games/tv/working, while backyard offered ample space for kids to run around while adults relaxed on deck (with most comfortable patio furniture ever experienced). Home is located in a private and quiet (during off season anyway) neighborhood with direct access to bike trail to South beach, probably a 10 minute trip by bike, and short drive to shops and restaurants in Edgartown. Communication with host Charles was excellent, always quick to reply and responsive, and check in/out was a breeze. The home does appear to be a dedicated rental rather than owner occupied and vacated as needed, and is decorated in a fun beach theme. This is exactly the experience we had hoped for, would gladly return for another stay at this property.
I manage Short Term Rentals for home and car in the city of Boston. I am Still pursuing my degree in business. My hobbies are Rugby, Cooking, Yoga and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I am an advocate of traveling and seeing as much of the world as possible! I love to help people feel at home even when traveling and I am always eager to help in anyway possible!
I am a property manager of the owner, who is a family friend, and I have vacationed in this house many times in this house since I was a kid and have never grown tired. Absolutely love the Vineyard on AND off season. Can not wait to own a home of my own here someday and would recommend traveling here at least once in your lifetime. This isn't just an island for vacation but a little bit of history as well!
The house is in a secluded private neighborhood so it is often serene and quiet even during the busiest season. South Beach is right down the street, however, the island has a TON of beaches to offer and it is quite an adventure to visit them all. Downtown Edgartown is even closer than the beach and has an irresistible charm that takes my breath away every time I visit. The island has so many activities so it is hard to recommend just one. You don't have to be a beach lover to love the island but it sure does help! Best part of the island is looking up at the stars every night and truly seeing the world in its natural beauty.
