I was called the day of check in on Christmas eve on one of the coldest days of the year and informed by the host that the property was without heat. I traveled to the city from out of state. No where else to stay. The host offered another property and I accepted. Upon arriving to the property, quickly noticed it was disgusting. Very dirty. Dirt stains on everything from base boards, walls and doors. I informed the host and got nowhere. Took pics. Two family members became sick while staying there on Christmas. The only reason why I gave 2 stars overall is because the host was kind and refunded the $75 cleaning fee. I would be hesitant to ever book with vrbo again. Horrible experience.
If you're looking for somewhere to stay with little notice, this little home is the ticket. The neighborhood is great and the exterior of the home looks very nice. Once inside, you might be disappointed as we were. Several of the electrical outlets throughout the home don't work. There were no cleaning products in the house except dish soap and paper towels. We had to wipe down the counter tops and tables with dish liquid and paper towels. The mattresses are mediocre at best and there were only five towels in the house and no extra blankets. Because of the ability to smoke on the screened in porch, the house smelled like smoke and required a whole bottle of Febreeze upon entry. The dishwasher is broken and stinks. We made the mistake of opening it to wash the dishes and almost threw up. One of the bedroom doors is off the hinges and just leaned up against the wall. Neither of the bathtubs drain correctly and you will be standing in water the whole time you are trying to shower. There are water and rust stains on the walls in the laundry room and the lint trap in the dryer was so full it was unreal.
This house has the potential to be a great property. The pictures shown is a small account of what the house really looks like. However, the pictures do not show you how dirty the house is. NONE of the beds had clean sheets. I was disgusted at the fact I had to touch them. Thank God for gloves! There was a used coke can underneath the dresser, open condom wrapper on the side of the bed and ALL of the floors were beyond dirty. The nice screened in porch could not be used. Why? You guessed it...it was dirty! Although few, there were roaches in the kitchen. The a/c unit runs constantly but there's a switch inside of a closet that turns it off. The tvs were unplugged & we had to try to reset the Wifi. There was not a manual at the house with information about the property so any concern I had, I had to contact the owner. However, he always answered me and was very polite. All of the issues I had, he said he would address them so hopefully the next guests will not run into these issues.
My solicited advice to the ower: replace all of the carpet & use ceramic tile through out the house, sand/paint kitchen cabinets & replace the floor, paint the entire house. Fix the a/c unit to work properly without the bypass switch and clean out the cabinets in every room. You have a great property with a lot of potential.
1 hour before we were to arrive, "Danny" informed us that there was a "minor" plumbing problem i.e. sewage had backed up into bathtubs and toilets. We were offered another place but would have to leave by 10 the next morning.
The house smelled horribly of weed...it was nasty...there was hair on the bathroom floor, I think pubic. ..đĄ there was trash in the sofa cushions ...the master bed sounded like a diaper when you laid down...I'm assuming some kind of plastic cover was on it. For the price we paid way too much for this house...it needs updating bad..there were dead bugs everywhere also..
My husband & I were moving from TX to a Florida withOur dog and needed a place to stay for 1 night. Danny, the owner, made it so easy to check in and check out. If I had a question there was No waiting for an answer, He was quick to answer.
The house looks just like it does in the pictures. Very cute house.
