The beach house was just perfect! It was quaint, quiet and a perfect place to rest and relax between fun trips to White Sands, Guadalupe Mountains and Carlsbad Caverns national parks.

I stayed here in order to visit the caverns and Guadalupe Mountains and it was perfect. The house is so pretty and comfortable. Very easy to get to as well. Well equipped, has laundry & pking. Will 100% recommend
Very cute and comfortable little house. It had a kitchenette rather than a full kitchen (mini fridge, no cupboards but had enough dishes for the 6 of us on shelves, no dishwasher, tiny wet-bar sized sink). Comfortable couches and TV. The dining table fit all of us. Better than 2 hotel rooms for a similar price.
This property was perfect for us and was exactly as advertised. Very clean and comfortable. Communication was good. Location was good for our plans. We visited Roswell Art Museum/planetarium and Carlsbad Caverns. This was a good home base. We enjoyed watching movies in the evenings on the big screen TV in the very comfortable living room here.
This is advertised as a 3 bedroom property which it is not. The put a cot in the kitchen to sleep 6. There were dead fruit bugs near windows. When we arrived there was no toilet paper. We were reimbursed for this inconvenience. The kitchen is more of kitchenette as opposed to a full use kitchen.
We enjoyed our stay here. Itâs an older home thatâs been remodeled and given an updated modern feel inside. It was comfortable for my family of 5. We stayed in and cooked our meals on the stove. There isnât an oven but we managed to make a few small pizzas in the large toaster oven and all the other kitchen items were there for us to cook with. The television with all the channels were enough to keep us entertained for 1/2 the day after finishing virtual school. The 2 desk areas fit their 3 school laptops. The 2 window ACs worked great and we had to turn them down cuz they got so cool. My children loved the popcorn and I loved the coffee. The only negative I can think of was that the 2 bedroom doors have issues closing and opening. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
Moved back home from California to an oil boom, lack of housing inspired the designer in me to create a space for families coming to see the caverns, I grew up in this neighborhood, and was always a fun and safe area of town to play in, still is, grew up throwing the local newspaper, playing at the Boys and Girls club two blocks away, and having the same neighbor for forty years kind of makes you did not worry about City issues like I used to. Huckleberry has changed with the boom and growth but neighbors and I are still the same ol small-town folk that talk about the weather cause it's never the same day to day around here. Always have a sweater or jacket handy, When the sunsets the temps drop with the sun. Stay hydrated when having fun.
This is next to where my grandparents originally settled in the 50s, Santa Fe gave each worker that relocated a lot, 10k and 1k for each kid, my mom Joann was the youngest of 9, she lives next door to the bungalow and often helps out maintain it. The Martinez family lived here my whole life, Joe was a wood furniture maker and watching him create furniture out of old logs really was inspiring, this house was built to withstand the strongest winds. each room was added on over the years the original house is just the living room and it mod podge into the high-end condo it become today, There is an interesting hidden attic that is sealed off for now but we hope to turn it into a hangout someday.
My mother Joann lives next door, if anything comes up just knock, Ida live across the way with her kids, Mr.d Young next door loves to race speedsters at the track when we had one he's got plans to open his own speedway and bring it back to Carlsbad. The Adames live at the corner of the other end Chuchy and jr, they grow the biggest cactuses I ever seen, and have a great Dane that loves to run around and visit time to time, hes super friendly but can not be ridden, I tried one time. The two empty houses belong to childhood friend red, he lives up north his daughter and kids in back and use the front as storage and mail. Thats the neighborhood in a nut shell. If its a holiday believe you will hear loud music somewhere and people having a good time. Family Gatherings are regular around here and the highlight of our weekends, friends or familys tend to trade off weekends to switch it up. PS if its 4th of July or NYE time its always Fireworks not gunshots.
