This house was beautiful and spaceous. The location was stunning. It was comfortably large. The floor to ceiling windows in the living room made the backyard view of the stream and woods a highlight of the stay
the location was excellent and the surroundings were beautiful The living room with the fireplace and kitchen were very comfortable for a big groupThe downside is that the house is really lacking maintenance in the bedrooms and bathrooms
The location, and size inside the property was perfect for our very large family. My older kids also very much enjoyed the hot tube, and fishing in the back. It was very hard to get to the fire pit because everything was so over grown, but nice that wood was there to use. Inside looked like it hadnât had a cleaning in a while. There was cobwebs, and dust everywhere even down to the fans in the closet. A lot of the windows didnât work, or have screens. There also wasnât shades or curtains in the bathrooms. Unfortunately on the first night we found a dead mouse in one of the rooms. There was also rat poison in 2 cabinets that we saw. The cabinets didnât have any kinds of locks on them. We had an age range of kids from 2-16 years old, and tied the cabinets with a cloth so the little kids didnât open it. By the last night we found another dead mouse, and one running around on the morning of check out.
The house itself was nice, although it was a little shocking how dirty it was!! It just felt gross.
Also the trash bins outside were overflowing so much when we arrived that we couldnât close the bins and during our stay an animal got in and tore up the bags.
The property had a great view and was very close to the mountain which was convenient.
My major problem was how uncomfortable the beds and couches were (think IKEA but worse). It is clear this is a rental property left forgotten and lacking TLC. It was an ok stay- definitely not worth the âluxuryâ price itâs advertised at.
The house was adequate for our needs. It comfortably fit large group of friends who love skiing as well as hanging out at the house. Our favorite part was open concept of living room dining room and kitchen. We loved the fireplace and the Jacuzzi, we were a little disappointed that the foosball table was not there as it is pictured in the photos. It could be better with few updates and I think it has even more potential in the summer since backyard looks really cool with the big deck and the stream that was hard to explore in the winter.
Pros: large common area, open concept, close to the mountain (10 minutes drive to skyship Lodge), nice Jacuzzi,
Cons: kitchen needs some TLC ( stove is old and hard to cook on it, many drawers are loose, no oven mitts), you need to bring your own towels, lots of steps leading down to the house it would have been nice if they were cleaned up better for the guests, the cleaners can do better job cleaning the place,
Overall it was nice and enjoyable and definitely more reasonably priced than other houses in the area. Plus dealing with the owner was a pleasure.
We unfortunately had to cancel this trip due to the flu, but despite the "no cancellation" policy, Jeremy was extremely fair and considerate and returned our cleaning and jacuzzi fees! Fortunately, we took out travel insurance, but it only covered the rental and not these incidentals. While it may sound like a given to be returned these fees since no cleaning crew was hired, I am sure that some hosts/owners might have given us a hard time, but Jeremy was prompt and fair. While I can't speak to check in process, cleanliness, etc. since we never checked in, the system won't allow me to submit this review without rating, and I am more than happy to give Jeremey the benefit of the doubt! We hope to rent from him next ski season!
Very close to the access road to Killington.
The place was large enough to hold 2 parents, adult children and grandchild nicely. The place needs a deep cleaning, I was disappointed in the cleanliness and the lack of upkeep of this VRBO. Bring bottled water to drink, the well water is very hard. Like other reviews the parking is tight.
We went to this location for a girls weekend and it was great for the occasion. The overall stay is 4/5. The listing was accurate and very spacious. It had a nice outdoor space and the layout inside was ideal. I did not receive the check in email prior. If I had, we would have been more prepared with extra paper towels, toilet paper, bed linens / blankets, etc. Also, there was no phone service outside of wi-fi. The wi-fi worked well for everyone, but just an fyi for gps and safety purposes to know prior. Other than that, I would recommend this location. :)

Disappointing property
While this house was clean and quite spacious, it is on Rte 100 so there is a lot of traffic and noise. Parking is very limited, especially for our group who drives large pickup trucks. There are a lot of steps to get into the property so carrying all of our things down then back to the vehicles was a lot of work. The path to the firepit was extremely overgrown, some of it appeared to be poison ivy or poison oak so we didn't even attempt to get to it. Very overgrown all around the back of the house which tends to bring a lot of bugs so bring bug spray if you want to sit out on the deck. We would have liked to leave the sliding door to the deck open to allow for air to circulate in the living room but there is no screen on the door so it was quite hot in the house during the day.
The location of the property was perfect for the wedding we were attending in Pittsfield. There are actually five bedrooms in the house although the listing says 4. Overall, the property was adequate but there are things that need to be done to "freshen up" the interior. While the property was clean there were areas that needed attention. Under the beds needed to be vacuumed, the grill had not been emptied by previous renters and the carpet on the stairs needed cleaning as well. All of that being said we enjoyed our stay and because pets were allowed we would rent it again if we were going to Killington.
Our group of 10 adults and kids really enjoyed our stay at Millstream house which had plenty of space for all of us, was in great proximity to the mountain (10 min) and provided a fully stocked kitchen which allowed us to enjoy meals every night. Our kids enjoyed the hot tub and space to play. The backyard with fire pit and stream was amazing and would be great fun to enjoy in the summer as well. It was convenient to have a washer and dryer after a full day of skiing. We also really enjoyed the indoor fire place. A great place for a large group - weâre looking forward to returning next year.
Great house for a group of us to ski all day and hang out in the hot tub and make dinner each night. Weâd rebook next time weâre going to Killington. Property contact very responsive.
We had a great 3 night stay. It was a perfect location close to Killington yet tucked away in a private setting. The owner is very responsive to questions. The hot tub was great after a long day of skiing. The house was clean and spacious for our group of 9. My kids enjoyed the games and puzzles. We will definitely be back.
The cabin was perfect for our group of 10 + two dogs. We were pleasantly surprised to have more than enough beds for everyone and some left over (mostly couples so the two bunk beds were left mostly unused). Plenty of space in the backyard area to walk the dog, although it was a bit difficult due to all the snow. The location was great, right off route 100 and a short drive to the mountains.
I didnât see that we needed to request the check in documents in advance via email so we were frantically reaching out to Vrbo and the owner for the details while on the way to the cabin - my fault for not reading thoroughly. Owner was very responsive and sent us the information right away.
Kitchen was very well stocked. Heating was amazing - it was -20 degrees while we were there and it was warm and toasty inside the house.
We did find a mound of towels (clean or used we donât know) in the bathroom on the floor next to the W/D upon check in. Maybe the cleaners forgot to clean them and put it away?
Property is great and the pictures are an accurate reflection of the property. The views out of the windows are amazing - truly a unique experience. Was here with a group of 10 adults and there was ample space and sleeping areas (everyone had their own bed). The proximity to Killington is also awesome - less than 10 minutes by car. Would definitely stay again
We had an excellent time. The house desperately needs new drawers in the kitchen -- always in danger of falling out. And it really needs more light in the bedrooms (very dark). But these are minor ongoing improvements -- it is a terrific place to stay.
We came up with a large group of adults to do the Spartan Race at Killington. Plenty of bedrooms and space for us. Some beds were extremely comfortable and the hot tub was a nice bonus! Would return again!
House was is good shape when we arrived. Lots of beds available, although some weren't as comfortable as others. Deck space is really nice, and the hot tub was awesome. "Lawn" area was not much, but the outdoor space was good what what we needed. Firepit area is a little dicey to walk to, but again, a nice area for sitting. Location is perfect as it is close enough to the golf course, restaurants, and ski area, while still being very secluded. Be wary of the kitchen drawers, as they don't slide in and out easily. Overall, a great spot for a bachelor party of a dozen.
Sadly, this property did not live up to our expectations and was not worth the high rate that we paid. As a positive, it is enjoyable if you are looking for a rustic experience. You will see lots of stars, hummingbirds, wildlife.
There are countless negatives, many of which could be very easily fixed by the property owner/manager. Further, there were absolutely no personal touches - not even pamphlets for area attractions. There is a distinct sense that the owner/manager has not stepped foot here for years.
- Many screens and windows are broken. This leads to: BUGS and spiders. They were everywhere. Several of us woke up in the middle of the night to see a moth flit across the wall, or a spider crawl onto the pillow (I wish that was an exaggeration).
- The foosball table is completely unusable. It is warped so the players scrape the table. This was particularly aggravating because we chose this house for its amenities, hoping to enjoy some game nights.
- The lower floor is unbearably damp. It smells of mildew. A dehumidifier would work wonders.
- There is no A/C. Not a huge issue, considering Vermont is only a hot for brief periods of time. But there were insufficient fans and of course with the broken windows and screens, not all windows could be open. Some portable A/C units or more working fans are desperately needed.
- There is a grill but no grill tools, specifically no grill brush. We ended up just using tinfoil. Disappointing.
- This is not on a "river." In August it's simply a dry creek bed. Oh well, the kids enjoyed crawling over rocks.
- The television was on two wooden blocks. Why not just buy a tv stand? This was a hazard with kids - we had to barricade the television area.
- The pillows were all flat as pancakes. Such a simply upgrade that would make the world of difference.
- The kitchen drawers all threaten to fall out when opening. Another hazard if you have kids.
- The dryer vent is a brick of lint AND the vent simply empties into a cavity between the floors. As such, not only is the dryer completely useless, but it is a major fire hazard.
- There is zero cell service here. Not the property's fault, but guests should be made aware in advance, especially since the wifi is weak and unreliable.
- The majority of wall outlets were loose. A potential fire hazard and made plugging in electronics impossible.
We were very disappointed overall, especially considering what we paid.
The place was very nice and clean and the owner was easy to contact and very understanding of any complications we had while on the trip. Would definitely stay again!
