Brian was a great guest to have and we would be glad to host him again! However, the situation mentioned in his review was out of our control. We paid after hours service twice during his stay to resolve the issue. Since then we have completely replaced the system and there is zero smell now. We would love to host Brian again and would also offer a discount for the inconvenience.

It is unfortunate that even after refunding Matt and his girlfriend a large amount of the accommodation, trying everything we could to resolve an issue that we could not have controlled (the hot tub going out) which is now fixed, that we receive such a poor review. When our hot tub stopped working we responded immediately, only to hear from Matt’s girlfriend that she felt as if we were pulling a “bait and switch”. We told her that this is our livelihood and what we do for a living, and the furthest thing from the truth. We had a pipe burst during the previous freeze and had 3 weeks to completely renovate all 3 bathrooms, our kitchen and the downstairs living room. I mentioned that only to share what updates had been made to the house thinking Matt would appreciate the major updates that had been done AFTER them booking our home. We decided to work night and day to make sure the home was ready for them, when we could have cancelled their reservation and had our insurance cover the lost rental income. We believed that the right thing to do was work to have the place ready for them if there was a chance we could have it ready, because if we cancelled there were no like kind places available due to it being spring break. We told them this story to try to show that we worked very hard to make sure they had a perfect stay. In regards to the ping pong table it appears as if their children were jumping on it and the table was severely damaged, we have since completely repaired the table. Every conversation we had with Matt or his girlfriend they were demeaning, demanding and very rude. After refunding them and offering them an additional free night which they declined, they threatened if we didn’t not refund them twice what we had chosen to refund them that they would smear our company name. Although this is not what we wanted, at some point we had to draw the line on their bullying. Yes Matt is correct, we have hosted thousands of guests and this was the very first time we have been unable to come to a mutual agreement on what we thought was fair, but we believe that even if we gave them exactly what they wanted the review would have been just the same. This review is a most definitely not an accurate reflection of our property, and hopefully our future guests will read all of our other guest reviews which have been nothing less than 5 stars.
