Adorable dog friendly (with fee) cottage just couple blocks from Soldiers Creek, in the sleepy little town of Perdido Beach, 21 miles drive to Gulf Shores beach, and 20 miles to Perdido Beach and Johnson beach. This home offers a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of the beaches. This property offers everything you will need for a comfortable stay. Linens, bath towels, and all kitchen utensils are provided. Bring your swim suit and beach towel! Soldiers Creek offers Swimming, boating, dolphin watching! Beautiful sunrises and sunsets, all within walking distance.

Public boat launch with pier 2 blocks away

Although we love all creatures, we currently only allow dogs on the property.

This was better than pictured online. A fabulous dog friendly property. We highly recommend! This place made our trip so very enjoyable.

Katrina Cottage

Our stay was so peaceful and comfortable. The property owners was super nice and helpful. We had everything we needed to feel like home. We definitely plan on going back.

Great destination

The property was in a perfect location to all great beaches and places to eat but given the privacy and property size for a family and their family dog. Which our dog was welcomed with treats.

My sister and stayed at the cottage and we had such a wonderful time. Robin made sure we had everything we needed. We were so happy to have use of the kayaks. We couldn’t have asked for more!

Relaxed Setting

Eric and Robin are extremely friendly and helpful Everything about the cottage is cute and comfy with all the amenities of home. Away from any Spring Breakers, but also NOT convenient to stores and eateries, of which we were totally aware and prepared for. Shopped in Foley for groceries before arriving. Great fenced area for our pup! Should mention that, from the inside, the fenced part is only accessible by steps. But there are two gates in front as well. LOVED OUR TIME AT THE KATRINA COTTAGE.

Relaxing

The property was comfortable, cool and relaxing. We all enjoyed our trip. Fur babies loved it too and the sweet snacks for them. Great little touch! Alittle drive for us back to Orange Beach. About 35-40 mins. Not horrible though. Thanks again for sharing your home with us!

Inaccurate listing

Though the property was clean & charming it was an inaccurate listing as far as the distance to the beach & access to transportation. The property said no cats which I did not see & brought a cat bc I had paid an animal deposit. It was a mistake on my part & I understand now that I was inconsiderate to those who had pet allergies as did the owner. She said I left the property in terrible shape & that my cat peed on stuff but the dog could easily have peed without my knowledge & I paid a pet fee to mulligans such consequences of animals as this. This could’ve been expected. The owner knew two weeeks prior to my departure that there was a cat but didn’t ask me to leave or offer to refund my money. She said there was candle wax places but she left candles in the cottage knowing there could’ve been candle wax. She said I caused rust on the bathroom floor but I took a picture of water damage in the bathroom & sent it to her which easily coukdve caused rust. She said the bathtub was stained but I used bath bombs which I thought was permissible as she also provided some. As she owns several properties zi would expect her to have cleaning solutions to address the normal wear & tear of a property after a tenant has been there a month such as I was. She claims the finish on the stove was ruined by me but really it was flawed slightly by the use of a tea kettle she provided. I told her when I was leaving & she lives next door so could’ve come to check & address any concerns then. I believe her lack of being able to clean extra was due to her immediately flipping the property within two hours of my departure knowing I’d stayed there for a month & that it might need to be cleaned more thoroughly.I am not responsible for her decision to do that nor the consequences of her needing to purchase additional items bc she didn’t have time to addres the concerns in a more traditional way. I was thoughtful enough to use my own money to wash every single rug & item of bedding & do without for several days. This owner is not forthright or adult enough to addres the concerns in a mature way but attack via text. She suggested I not rent from anyone in the future. I suggest you not rent from her. She also chose to address her concern is text instead of calling me & I was traveling all day. I gladly will pay an additional fee but there is not complete fault on my part.

Charming

We loved Robin’s cottage!!! The location is away from the hustle and bustle of the city which is nice for relaxing. Pirates Cove is about 2 miles away which is a pet friendly place to eat with a private beach area. The back yard of her property is fully fenced which was perfect for our dog. Robin introduced herself when we arrived and let us know if we needed anything to get in touch with her. Thank you Robin! It was a pleasure staying at your lovely cottage!!!

We are Eric and Robin, we are originally from Minnesota, we met and married in 1987 and raised our family in Minnesota, we stumbled upon this beautiful little community in 2017 by accident and couldn’t imagine our life anywhere else! We purchased the lot that the cottage sits on and fell in love with the charm of the historical Katrina Cottages! We found one in Lafayette LA and had it moved 300 miles to where it now sits! We love this little house so much, and our small community! We live right next door and love to meet our guests! But don’t worry we do not hover... and we will give you as much privacy and communication as you are comfortable with! Our goal is to insure you are comfortable!
