The convenient near-mountain location and living room views are hard to beat; the hot tub was a great touch as well! It was perfect for our large group over a holiday weekend.
Had an excellent stay at this cozy house in Stratton. It was conveniently located to Stratton Mountain and other nearby resorts. The check in process was a breeze and communication was great with our host. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals for our group. Would stay again!
The host was super responsive and very nice. The house itself is pretty basic, but it got the job done! The views were incredible and the hot tub was a very nice touch â we would definitely stay here again!
Awesome house, great host. Good communication, fair price. Highly recommend- our band stayed here with our wives/girlfriends while we played 2 days at Stratton.
We stayed at this beautiful home for a ski weekend at Stratton. The house is minutes from the mountain with excellent views of both Stratton and Bromley. There were seven of us and we had plenty of room to relax including a nice downstairs area for the kids to play. The outdoor space is very nice. We look forward to staying here again!
My friends and I had an amazing time! There was everything we needed and more. Host was very responsive and detailed with instructions. We all had a very comfortable stay! We will be back :)
A group of friends and I rented this ski chalet for a winter weekend exploring southern Vermont and the views and location did not disappoint! The house is well-appointed and comfortable. Allison was very responsive and covered all the pertinent information needed for check in/out. Highly recommend for anyone exploring southern VT ski mountains (right on Stratton!) or the area in general.
We took a last-minute family trip in January 2025 and had a wonderful experience. The location was perfect, offering a balance of mountain seclusion and close proximity to Stratton Mountain. Our kids loved playing in the snow around the yard and enjoyed a few dips in the hot tub, which added to the fun.The home itself exceeded our expectations compared to the photos. While it is dated with modestly appointed bedrooms, it felt very cozy and we had plenty of room for our family of five to relax after a day on the slopes. The house was stocked with plenty of firewood which was convenient. Overall itâs a comfortable and inviting space, which is what we expected. The owner was very responsive to a couple of questions we had, and the process was smooth and hassle-free.A few tips for future guests:A 4WD vehicle is essential for the one-way driveway if you expect ice or snow.If you have kids or plan to watch movies in the evening, consider bringing a streaming device. The internet worked great, but the TV is older, and the Comcast apps didnât work well for us. Using our laptop with the TV as a monitor worked fine.Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely consider returning for future trips!
Comfortable space & close to Stratton but driveway needs better plowing
2 families stayed together (4 adults and 4 kids so 8 people total). There were enough beds and bedrooms and the main living/dining area with fireplace was a great hangout spot for everyone. The views are really pretty! The kitchen and bathrooms were a bit rustic but definitely worked for the basics. The house worked well with the exception of the driveway. We were told the driveway would be plowed but that a specific time could not be guaranteed so we were prepared. Upon arrival the first night, the driveway did not look plowed well but it was good enough to pull in. We both had 4WD SUVs and both had major trouble on our last day getting out of the driveway because the driveway had not been plowed properly during the snowstorm that ensued for the previous 24 hours. Both SUVs got stuck in the deep snow and we had to wait 3 hours for a local tow company to come and winch the cars out of the driveway. One car sustained major damage (bent tire rod) from the tow out of the driveway so severe that we couldnât drive the car down the Stratton access road and had to wait another 2 hours for a different tow truck to bring our car to a local repair shop. We ended up having to book 2 extra nights at a hotel in the area (black bear lodge) to wait for our car to get fixed. This was all complicated by the poor cell service and total lack of transportation options in the local area. We called about 10 different taxi/car services with no luck and the repair shop guy drove us to the hotel.
Had a great time at this house for the second year in a row. House had everything we needed and was a short drive to the base lodge and town. Hot tub views canât be beat!
The property was mostly as advertised. It contained the advertised amenities and was enjoyable for our group overall. The check-in process was easy and the owner was communicative. That said, the property was not especially clean. There was dog poop on the porch, the bathrooms had not been cleaned, and there was a large amount of trash left in the front of the house (preventing our group from placing all of the trash in the bins).
Allison was more than accommodating working with our check in and check out process. Could use a few additional bowls and plates for bigger meals. Wood stove on the first floor is a good touch for that Vermont winter warmth. Awesome views of Stratton and Bromley. Great spot to relax in the hot tub and watch the sunset over the mountains.
We started our stay with a rocky start as the heat was not working from a frozen and burst pipes as well as no hot water. Alison was very responsive and quickly remedied the situation! She was able to secure HVAC and plumbers to come over promptly and heat was restored by early evening. Thank goodness as it was a very cold January weekend...the rest of our stay was great. The house is only a few miles from Stratton so easy to get to the slopes and village. The driveway and plowing were a non-issue. It's not too steep. And it did snow while we were there and snow removal was done.
My family stayed here for New Years weekend and had a great time! The description is very accurate. The house is short drive from the mountain, the living rooms on both top and bottom floors are very specious, and the hot tub was perfect for after a day on the mountain. A great place to stay for skiing families!
We loved our stay over the weekend! The house was very cozy and had everything we needed. Incredible views and only a short drive to Stratton Mountain. Perfect place for a little ski getaway.
Spent 3 nights at this property with my wife, three kids, and father in law. Everything was just a little harder than it needed to be - biggest example is that the driveway (which is on a hill) wasn't plowed, and we couldn't get out, even with a 4WD. Only the kindness of a neighbor was able to get us on our way. The hot tub didn't work properly, towels were left in the dryer for us to find, no coffee maker, etc. Just a lot of little issues that made this a less than great experience.
Allison's property came exactly as advertised - breathtaking views and a homey live in feeling. We loved spending time on the deck during the day and cozying up inside at night. This is the perfect place for a medium to large sized group who is looking to be up amid the trees.
