Modern A-Frame with beautiful view of Lake Logan in The Hocking Hills!
Nestled between trees with amazing views, the three story cottage overlooks The Marina of Lake Logan. Fishing , avian enthusiasts, are bound to enjoy this cozy little get-away. Centrally located in The Hocking Hills region of Ohio.
This cottage was in the ideal location to access all that Hocking Hills has to offer. It was close to the visitor center and all of the trails. There were also numerous restaurants nearby. Lake Logan is just a stones throw away. We were able to enjoy the amenities that it offers as well. The hot tub was perfect after a long day of hiking.
We had a great time, after we realized that the first three steps on a very steep flight were either missing all together or loose and unsafe. It was pretty bare bones, but nice. No soaps, hairdryer, etc. that we usually find. Not for the faint of heart, as there are several steep flights of stairs necessary to reach the main living space. Great view once you get there!!
We enjoyed our time at the cabin. The location was great and it was clean. Some downfalls: bedrooms do not have dressers or places to store clothes. The master bath does not have a shower. Being an A Frame had a few challenges for a family of people 6 feet and over. We said we felt like Buddy the Elf in the North Pole :) Also, the beds are small so fitting 6 is tough! This is a good spot to use as home base as the beauty of the surrounding area is impressive to explore.
The cabin was beautiful. Secluded but not far from stores when we needed to grab a couple items. It was also a plus that we were right by the marina and not far from where we rented pedal boats! Overall it was a great stay and we will definitely be back!
This cabin was everything we expected and more! Very clean, stocked with everything we could need. Loved the view and location. The gravel drive down to the cabin was rough but luckily there was no snow/ice the weekend we were there. Host was very responsive for questions before and during our stay. Weâll be back! Thank you for sharing this special place with us.
My husband and grown daughters stayed for the weekend before Christmas. It was a very clean house and had all of the kitchen tools we needed. The owner also provided keurig coffee, which was nice. Those who have mentioned the stairs were not exaggerating. There are a lot and they are steep, both outside and in. My only complaint is that the rooms on the first floor were pretty tight. The pictures make them look roomy but even my very small statured family felt a little cramped in the bedrooms and bathroom. The upstairs room was nice but the bed was a bit uncomfortable. We did not use the loft bed. The living room was very nice, but it is up a flight of black stairs, so a light had to be kept on all night.
I would like to point out for other dog owners that there are only a couple small entry rugs (like welcome mat size) by the doors, and everything else is hardwood. Our poor dog could not get comfortable anywhere. He doesn't sleep on furniture so we made a blanket pallet for him, but he was antsy the whole time.
The area of Logan is close to nice hiking but the town itself is pretty run down. The marina was clean, but we had the misfortune of a person sleeping in his car in the parking lot each night. It made me nervous to walk the dog over there after dark, which was about 6pm.
Also, while there are 4 hiking places that allow dogs, Ash Cave is not a good trail for dogs. It has very steep, slippery, winding steps.
Overall, this is a nice property. Probably much nicer in summer.
The view was very pretty, couldâve had use more trash bags and toiletry for the eight of us. Wish I wouldâve known the living room was upstairs separate from the kitchen. We did enjoy ourselves though.
Cabin was just as described, very clean, very nice. Hot tub was GREAT,very relaxing. Driveway was kinda steep. Backyard butts right up against a camp ground so the RV spot that is directly behind the cabin is RIGHT there, maybe 50 feet from the back door and fire ring. Close to restaurants and Wal-mart for dining needs. Would stay again!
The house was clean and very good location. A few things that we generally noted. The kitchen is very minimally stocked. There are only 2 mirrors in the house both in the bathrooms . inconvenient . The lighting is also strangely sparse? No place to unpack bags
The home was very clean and tidyâhad everything we needed for a few nights stay. Located across from Lake Logan and close to great hiking. Bring towels for the hot tub and some firewood for a perfect fall evening.
The location of the cabin was very convenient and close to many things Hocking Hills and Lake Logan have to offer. The views of the water were nice. It was very clean and well stocked with everything you need for a stay. The check in process was a bit challenging as no information was provided beforehand to get into the place and there's very little service around the cabin. We had to leave to get ahold of the host for the information to get inside. My biggest concern was around safety aspects of the cabin. There is no lighting in the parking area and for the majority of the very large, steep staircase leading to the door. The second story balcony also has no lighting and the space between the front spires on the railing of the balcony are large enough for a small child to get through. And right after is a significant drop off. Our dog actually went through the opening. You must stay on high alert while navigating this setup, inside and outside.
Amenities such as restaurants, shops and entertainment are accessible within minutes of this location. The popular state parks and hiking trails are a short drive away and the access to the Lake Logan marina is immediate. Guests can fish from the marina as well as kayak, canoe or rent a pontoon or paddle boat from the state park.
