This is a perfect property for 1 or 2. Includes kitchen and laundry facilities. The front porch is ideal for morning coffee or afternoon wine. 15 minute walk to downtown Ojai. Be sure to have a drink at Sam's Place and a pastry at The Dutchess!!
Location was quiet and the house was perfect for our stay......will stay as often as the house becomes available while visiting family. Thank you Jane and Liz for the wonderful accommodations that you provide.
I felt completely at home in Janeâs peaceful and cozy cottage. The location is perfectly situated to experience Ojaiâs breathtaking beauty without the need to get in a car. Jane was a wonderful host.
I could walk all over town. Great location and very cute. Stove/oven was initially a challenge but finally mastered it. Very comfortable.
Would like to stay there again next winter.
My stay at Janeâs was cut short due to an illness in my family. Overall I enjoyed the time I did spend at the cottage. Jane was attentive to my requests.
Quaint is the perfect word to describe this beautiful property! It's a beautiful stone cottage in the heart downtown Ojai. Walking distance to Libby Park and the Arcade shops. The place is comfortable and really cute. Cook on a 1930's Magic Chef gas oven while you stay. This is the perfect spot for a couple or small family. Jane the host is kind and accommodating. We loved it!
Thankful for the month we spent here. The cottage met our needs and was quiet, cozy, and walking distance to town. Jane is a very good host: responsive and relaxed. We hope to make this an annual trip.
Great location, with off-street parking, and aromas of orange blossoms. Easily and conveniently used as a launch pad to explore, discover, and enjoy upper SoCal and central coast, and Ojai itself. Twelve miles to the beach and the Ventura Highway. Private, affordable, and charming. Loved the front porch. Host was kind, attentive, and friendly.
We loved staying in this stone cottage in Ojai. It is a charming place with lots of windows and skylights. It has a lovely front porch where we enjoyed most of our meals under the beautiful oak trees. It is in walking distance of downtown, Sunday farmer's market, and great hikes. We also enjoyed the proximity to Ventura and Santa Barbara. The owner and daughter were very friendly and available to respond to any need. We can easily recommend you consider this as a destination, as we did for a month.
A wonderfully unique, embracing little cottage with all
the necessities of life, including intangibles....I stayed there
for two months while working on a music project and enjoying a retreat from the hectic life...it was perfect. Isolated enough at the end of a quiet street, close enough to walk to town or to a store or restaurant, and always bathed in light, warmth and
nature. Jane is a delightful lady, keen to answer and questions or offer assistance.
I spent a month here and didn't want to leave. The cottage or the town. Everything clearly pictured and represented. It couldn't have been more lovely.
Thanks Jane, hopefully I'll be back.
Went back to Ojai to see friends and enjoy the beautiful valley of my youth. I loved this quaint stone cottage and would definitely stay there again when I come back. I is convenient to downtown, maybe a 4 block walk, and also near trails for hiking. You can walk around to Signal St. to catch a Shelf Road walk or go up Canada to get the Pratt trail. The yard is full of beautiful citrus and cactus. The owner was helpful when I needed it, but otherwise I was left alone to enjoy my solitude.
I fell in love with Ojai and staying in your beautiful guest house made it even better. I hope to come back soon. Thank you very much for your hospitality. I had a wonderful time. Gloria
We stayed at Casa Piedra for the months of Feb/March 2012. It is located very near the center of Ojai and convenient to many of the activities that make Ojai an enjoyable place to visit.
The house is comfortable, clean and hasexcellent facilities: a full kitchen with small gas stove, an assortment of cooking utensils, and an adjacent pantry with refrigerator and storage space; living room with fireplace, large screen television with full cable, and strong wifi connections; and a full bath and shower. The small bedroom has a comfortable queen-size bed and large closet with shelves and hanging space--a tight fit, but quite manageable.
The charming stone house has a small porch overlooking a yard with an rich assortment of cactus plants, an old oak tree, and off-street parking. The neighborhood is quiet and convenient. The host and her daughter live behind the cottage and are very helpful and friendly.
This rental is our first choice in Ojai, and we recommend it highly
I have lived in this beautiful stone cottage for three years. It has been a source of comfort and peace for me, as the stone walls make it so quiet and secure. I love the many windows looking out onto scenes of green trees, with the squirrels playing and the birds singing and flitting from branch to branch. Sometimes I forget that this is my home and feel like I'm at a special retreat, an extension of our neighbor, the Emerald Iguana Inn. We are on a corner of the neighborhood, so it feels very secluded. I especially love sitting on the front porch, enjoying the sunset or the solid oak tree in the front yard. The native desert plants around the garden along the dirt driveway only add to its charm. Jane and Elizabeth are wonderful neighbors. It is also conveniently located a 10 minute walk from downtown's shops, restaurants, Libbey Bowl/Park, and movie theater. I also love the nearby access to the hiking trails up Signal Ave and Shelf Road, which allow a quick escape into the mountains. It is a 15 minute drive into the Sespe Wilderness and the nearby Ventura River. I have truly enjoyed my time here and will remember this place always as my favorite home.

We love Ojai for it's natural beauty, great climate, small town charm, and friendly, community feeling. It's surrounded by the Los Padres National Forest where we love to hike. We swim year round and enjoy the wonderful bike trail. We enjoy the wonderful music festival, art and theater in Ojai.
We also love to visit the beach in Ventura, which is only 20 minutes away. We drive 45 minutes to Santa Barbara for all it has to offer, and LA is only 1 1/2 hours away.
