Beautiful space that is very cozy; nice slice of nature, only downside is proximity to the highway (one can hear trucks going by all night). Amazing to watch the hummingbirds in the morning & the sunset views were gorgeous. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable spot near the state park. I rented this cabin so my elderly mother (late 70s) could do birdwatching at Garner without having to camp, it was not 'accessible' in ADA standards but also was not worrisome or difficult for my mom to navigate herself.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughtful review with us! We’re so happy to hear that you and your mother enjoyed the cozy cabin, the beautiful sunsets, and especially the hummingbirds. We love that the cabin gave your mother the opportunity to enjoy birdwatching at Garner State Park without having to camp, and we’re glad she found the cabin comfortable and easy to navigate during her stay. We do want to mention that we have not had other guests report highway noise as a concern, as noise experiences can vary from person to person. Our property is located in a peaceful Hill Country setting, while still being conveniently close to the highway, Garner State Park, and the surrounding attractions. We truly appreciate your recommendation and are grateful you chose to stay with us. We hope to welcome you and your mother back again for another relaxing Hill Country getaway!

The Ranch Whiskey Mountain cabin was great. Though weather worn, the cabin has wonderful charm and is a great location for visiting Garner State Park (quick side note: you do need to bring your own bed linens and bath towels). The morning sunrise is beautiful to watch on the front porch as the light reaches over the horizon. The Whiskey Mountain hosts are very responsive to communication and ready to help or answer questions. Overall 5/5 would recommend!

Cabin was clean and tidy. Air conditioning was adequate. Kitchen was clean and we did some grilling outside and some cooking inside. There aren’t any mixing bowls available so we had to make do with 2 small cereal bowls. We had an issue with ants all over one of the (unused) beds but the hosts quickly arrived as soon as we messaged them to see what they could do the mitigate the problem. Along that line, we did have to throw out some of the boxed food we brought when we left because the ants made their way into the boxes where they were being stored. One thing we do have to note is, this property is extremely close to a heavily used road so the road noise level was pretty high for the duration of our stay. If you visit during peak season, this may cause an issue for some.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad to hear you found the cabin clean and tidy, enjoyed the kitchen and grilling area, and that our quick response to the ant issue was helpful. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the ants, especially with them getting into your boxed food. We understand how frustrating that must have been. We’ll continue to take preventative measures to minimize the possibility of this happening in the future. We also appreciate the note about the mixing bowls and will look into adding a better selection of kitchenware for our guests. As for the road noise, we understand that this can be noticeable, particularly during peak season when traffic is heavier. We appreciate you mentioning it, as it helps us set appropriate expectations for future guests. Thank you again for staying with us and for your thoughtful feedback. We’re grateful you chose our cabin and hope we have the opportunity to host you again.
