Great location

Loved the location, peace and quiet from this properly. The view from the pluge pool was incredible and it was close to some nice restaurants and great beaches. Will try to stay there again.

Nice, quiet spot to relax and soak in the island vibes

Lovely place with a lovely view. Small apartment, but has everything you need and the hosts provided lots of great info about the area and we followed a lot of their recommendations about what to see and where to eat. A great place for a laid-back, beach holiday.

Wonderful, cozy & private!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sol Patch. The apartment is lovely with a well-equipped kitchen & comfortable bed. It was spotless and the view from the deck and pool were beautiful. Joel and Lisa are excellent hosts and provided us with lots of tips for things to do and places to eat. They have an excellent reference book on hand with directions to different beaches, restaurants, hiking trails and snorkeling / diving spots. Great place to stay!

Outstanding!

We loved staying here. It was quiet and away from the hussle of the city. The home is amazing as are the hosts. Amazing view from the chairs on the cliff edge or the pool or the deck. We came to relax and enjoy the land and culture of Curacao and all and more than our expectations were met. Grateful!

This was a perfect getaway, location is breathtaking and serene. Unit was clean and perfect for a trip for 2. Had all the needed amenities to chill, relax and enjoy some downtime. Joel and Lisa were wonderful to deal with! And oh, that sunset directly in front of the rental? Pure Bliss!

We had a fabulous stay at Lisa and Joel’s property. It is quiet and peaceful, perfect in every way. A couple of days we never moved from that beautiful porch. We enjoyed chatting with Joel, and briefly, Lisa. It’s a great place!

Relaxing Location

The area was pretty rural. Plants and small mountains all around. Plenty of birds and other small wildlife to view. Porpoises and fish swim by in the ocean view from the front porch. Short drive to Shete Boka National Park with interesting views of the ocean. A mile from there is the Christoffel National Park which has interesting sites on both the ocean side and the inland side. Includes a hike to the highest point on the island. Lots to do and see.

Tranquil Villa with stunning view

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at this villa. We wanted to detach from our busy lives and this location and accommodation was perfect for that. The villa had just enough amenities to be comfortable - kitchen had enough for a simple breakfast or dinner. We used the plunge pool mornings and evenings to cool down and the view was relaxing. Sunsets were beautiful as was the night sky stargazing. A car is a must and the beaches nearby are great for swimming and snorkeling.

From the moment we were greeted by the charming property manager Hynrich we were thrilled. The amenities, gorgeous view, easy access to all of the west end beaches, superior snorkelling, sunsets and ocean views from the plunge pool and deck we were in paradise.

Great Home, Great Location, Great Hosts

We had a fabulous time in Curacao while staying at this home. Its perfect oceanfront location gave us spectacular sunsets, views of wildlife during the day, and a star-lit sky every night. The home is immaculate and modern and very comfortable. The private neighborhood provided a peaceful and relaxing place to unwind after a day of exploring and enjoying the island. Lisa and Joel are super nice, and went above and beyond making us feel welcome and providing us with the best places for hiking, beaches, restaurants and anything else we needed to know. We highly recommend their home for your vacation.

Cliff Side Gem

Curacao is beautiful & no one would complain about a stay at one of the resorts, but if you'd prefer a more private, out of the way setting for 2, this is it. Very recently built with a back deck that overlooks the ocean and a 5-10 minute drive from several great beaches and restaurants. A/C unit & fan cool the space off in just a few minutes. Plunge pool is a major perk! Hosts are awesome people & their guy Hynrich was wonderfully helpful. Come check it out!

Best VRBO ever!

We were delighted to explore and discover Curacao with this absolutely beautiful and relaxing cottage as our home base. It was so relaxing to have the ocean breeze greet you in the morning on this private porch with the parrots landing on the tree in the natural area next to the house. The small pool was excellent to use after a day at the beach and an excellent venue for stargazing with the most spectacular view we have ever seen. The hosts were absolutely wonderful times 100! They were helpful with everything from how to work the stove to where to go to dinner! We will definitely be back!!!

One of the last, best places...period

I'm somewhat hesitant to write this review, as I have no doubt that after the world regains access to easy jet travel, the combination of convenience, comfort and remoteness that this small corner of Curacao offers to travelers from the Americas will mean I have to plan my escapes to this stunningly beautiful property far, far in advance. Rather than write a tour book detailing all of the minute details, I'll just leave it here that if you've had the great good fortune to stumble upon this property's profile...grab it, you'll remember it as the best vacation decision you ever made!

Peaceful Getaway

The property is about a 40-minute drive from the main downtown attractions. The relatively quiet area seems to have a good mix of locals, expats, and the more off-the-beaten path and water activities-centric tourists. The pictures are truly representative of the property and views. The sunsets can't be beat and feel like they were created just for you. The best thing about the stay was Joel and Lisa. They were truly helpful, accommodating, and kind. One tip: be sure to bring your adapter. I hope to be back. Thanks guys!

Perfect romantic getaway

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon to Curacao. All of our communication with Lisa leading up our trip was great and a wonderful welcome packet helped us to decide what we wanted to do! Upon arrival to the island, We met with Joel who led us to the house! He showed us around and made sure we were all set for our trip. He also helped us throughout the week with great suggestions of things to do on the island to make our trip memorable! The house was perfect! The view alone is all we needed, but the addition of the pool, the deck and everything else made the trip wonderful! The house had everything we needed (towels, a kitchen with the necessary items, and soap for the bathroom). If you're looking for a relaxing, quiet, getaway near some of the best beaches on the island, this is the house for you! We couldn't have asked for a better honeymoon!

Long awaited …….

Finally after cancelling 2 other trips over 1 1/2 years we arrived. My husband and I slid easily into island life at Sol Patch. The house was perfect for both of us. The kitchen is well equipped. The views are indescribable. The hostess book was a great help in finding the local hidden gems. Joel and Lisa were very helpful and just a phone call away. Klein Knip was our favorite beach during the week. The walk to Playa Jeremi is great! It is a trip I of a life time.

Disconnect here

We had never been to Curacao before so everything was new. Check in was easy with Hynrich and the view from the property is exactly as advertised. It is in a more remote area of Curacao so you need a rental car for here. There is not another property next door so good bird and lizard watching and from the cliff you can look down and see fish and turtles easily! It was great to disconnect and be with nature! The West side of the island has the best beaches so it was always easy to go snorkeling. There are a few good restaurants fairly close but you could cook too. Joel and Lisa were great hosts and we would really love to come back!

Lovely stay!

Staying at the Sol Patch at Jeremi House #1 has been a great experience. The view is amazing and I would recommend the house to everyone who is a nature lover. Thinking about Curacao you would expect just beaches and sun, however because of the location of the house you are able to see the beautiful hills on the other side and walk for hours if you desire. However the beautiful view and location wasn't the main reason why I loved staying at this place. I loved it so much because Lisa and Joel really invited me into their home and welcomed me as a part of their family. They are caring and warm hearted people. They are the kind of people who will always invite you back.

Just an amazing property. My wife and I spent 2 weeks enjoying beaches, hiking, sunsets and relaxing. Everything from check in to check out was stress free. We had the pleasure of working with the property manager who was friendly, immediately available and super helpful. We have stayed at numerous villas in the Caribbean and I put this one as one of my favorite. Unbelievable sunsets every day unobstructed from the patio or the pool. Location is near numerous beaches, great restaurants and wilderness, hiking/exploring. The host put together a book, and I mean a book of things to do places to go restaurants, etc. complete with hand drawn maps. We used it every day .Truly shows they really want their guest to enjoy the island. 100% recommend.

Breathtaking

The views were breathtaking both in the morning and in the evening from the personal plunge pool during sunset. We loved watching the birds and iguanas that came to visit in the am. Joel and Lisa were wonderful hosts answering all of our questions and providing excellent information as first timers to the island. Playa Jeremi was a beautiful beach nearby for snorkeling. We also enjoyed visiting Playa Porti Marie for the fish and coral and Playa Piskado for turtles. Playa Porta Marie was one of our favorites. Blue View Terrace was a restaurant we visited twice and very reasonable. We enjoyed local food at Playa Forti. We hope to return in the future as there are so many things that we didn’t get too! Highly recommend this vrbo if you are looking for a quiet getaway!

Beautiful setting

There is so much good to say about this property...the location is gorgeous and it is private. Lisa and Joel are delightful. The neighborhood is gated and felt very secure. The house was clean. But for a couple of reasons I have given it only 4 stars. There is no hot water in the kitchen sink...with cleanliness being so much a part of our world, this makes me wonder how clean the dishes were...but the biggest issue we had was that we were not allowed to flush the toilet paper and had to use a trash can for soiled toilet paper. This is not mentioned in the listing and for us it was a big deal.

We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay at the Sol Patch. Whenever we saw you you raved about all of the things that you were doing and seeing and were very complimentary about the house. In response to your 'issues', Curacao is a tiny island and all of us who live here do our utmost to protect the fragile environment both on land and in the sea. This includes keeping paper products out of the septic systems. Surely you noticed this in other establishments - in restaurants and most businesses this is the request as it is in much of the developing world. It's unfortunate that you found this to be such a big issue. You never mentioned it. We provide hot water in the shower but not in the kitchen sink. It is the dish soap that kills germs not the temperature of the water. If you wanted to kill germs with hot water you wouldn't be able to put your hands in it as it would be so hot. Again, just trying to reduce our impact on the Earth as much as possible.

Originally from upstate NY, we are international school teachers who have spent our careers living and teaching abroad. Our first posting was on Curacao back in the 1990's and after nearly 20 years in Asia and the Middle East, we've finally returned to our beloved island.

Bring your coffee out to the deck in the morning and watch the fishermen heading out to sea followed by the frigate birds and brown footed boobies. Glimpse a sea turtle cruising by or if you are lucky pods of whales or dolphins cruising up the coast. Since we face west you won't want to miss sunset out there followed by a night sky awash in stars.

Walk through our sleepy village of Lagun, to one of two neighborhood beaches. Cook in or dine out at one of many nearby restaurants. Tour the island's rural west end to find cosy beaches, beautiful beach entry dive sites, amazing hiking and mountain biking trails. Drive into Willemstad, a world heritage port capital, for shopping, dining, museums or to watch the tugs guiding huge tankers into port.
