Location was perfect. The water is so close and the best little beach is right there in front of the unit. Three units away from the pool, pool temp was perfect. There are 2 pools and hot tubs with a nice covered area with table and chairs, restrooms and vending machine. The staff take great care of this property.

Amazing property

This is a little hidden gem
we had a 1st floor unit, steps from the ocean. The sunsets were spectacular! Plenty of beach front, but a little grassy area for people to walk and for kids to run and play. Easy access to everything. Our host was awesome and checking in and out was a breeze. We will definitely be back on our next visit. Mahalo for a wonderful place to stay!

Amazing oceanfront property!

The ground floor beachfront location provided mornings and stunning sunset views in the evening. The place was very cozy, with all of the amenities of home. The resort is very nice and easy to get around. We will be back soon!!!

So the property itself is OK, nothing special for that area but it’s not bad. What IS bad is when you are told one price and then when you show up you find out there’s another price.

Amazing Maui Stay

Papakea was amazing and our unit was great. The view and the Lanai make this 5 stars, you can’t beat waking up and walking out to the ocean every morning. The amenities in the unit were great with beach chairs, towels, and a beach umbrella.

Maui Amazed

Papakea was the perfect spot to reconnect with Maui, and this unit was spot on. I fell asleep to the sound of the crashing waves every night and couldn’t have been happier or had a better time.

Amazing Place

Everything about this condo was perfect. We loved the location, the view, and the amenities. Everything we needed was there and available for us to use, from the community barbecues, to the beach chairs to the towels with chair clips, to all the kitchen supplies. We couldn't have asked for anything more and hope to stay here again.

Ocean front condo

Really enjoyed our stay at this condo with the ocean right outside our lanai door. The condo was very well stocked with the supplies we needed. Management was very responsive to minor issues we encountered when we were there. We will definitely stay here again.

One week in heaven

Fantastic vacation, stayed one week,big mistake, it needs to be for eternity. Have stayed at Popakes several times and always hate leaving. This is as close to heaven as possible. Will continue coming back whenever possible.

Stopover on our way back from Australia

We had the best time! All I wanted to see were whales breeching from the lanai after spending a month of sightseeing in Australia. That is exactly what we saw every day! The amenities were abundant. I felt like I was in my own home but in Hawaii! We will be back for certain! I love it here!

Sit On Or In Front Of Your Lanai on The Ocean Front

This was our 2nd time staying in an ocean front condo at Papakea. If you only have a few days on Maui to unwind, you want to be just be a few a few steps from the ocean. It's a unique experience you can't get any other way. Terry was great to communicate with, the condo is nice, and everything is easy.

Perfect vacation spot

Ground level unit is ideal! Kitchen tools stocked well enough to cook, or there are some very good takeout places nearby (walkable). Although there are many great things to see and do on the island, there is no need to seek adventure elsewhere when the main attraction is right through the big patio doors. So beautiful. Terry is the best host too-answers questions promptly and it’s obvious she really wants you to enjoy your stay at her place. Perfect chill Hawaiian vacation.

Pictures don't do it justice

Great location. In walking distance of food stops and ABC store. Show up early to checking, there can be lines. Sitting on the back porch is very peaceful, but keep in mind other guests may be sitting in your view. Good communication with owner. Condo has everything we needed. Good cold AC and good shower pressure.

Great Stay

Terry was fantastic! Communicative and thoughtful, she helped us rebook many times due to COVID. The property was as described; it was in a convenient location and had everything we needed to have a wonderful stay. We especially loved having dinner on the back patio and watching sunsets and seeing rainbows. The ground floor made it so easy to bring in groceries and get to the pool, and we were able to pack lighter, as the unit had a washer and dryer. I would not hesitate to book this unit again on our next Maui visit!

Little Piece Of Paradise

We had a wonderful experience staying in the condo. Everything was very clean upon our arrival. The owner had recently replaced the sofa / hideaway bed prior to our stay. They also replaced the kitchen appliances prior to our stay as well. Everything worked perfectly and my family and I had a wonderful stay. Amazing listening to the waves crashing at night. The views of the sunset from the Lanai are just as amazing!

Amazing Location

You absolutely cannot beat the location of the condo. You are literally steps to the beach. Directly in front of the condo, we enjoyed a small sandy beach with some snorkeling that was great for beginners (as long as the surf is calm). Larger sandy beaches are very close and walkable either north or south. Saw turtles swimming by almost daily. Although the condo itself is a little dated, it is clean, and the owners are working on upgrades, including a new couch, appliances, and flooring. The owner and property manager were lovely, very accommodating, and easy to get a hold of. We would not hesitate to stay again. Mahalo!

There was noise all day & all night. The noise had two reasons, very thin walls & construction.

Our unit was on the ground floor. We had a great view of the ocean. There was a tiny sandy beach. On the outside lawn there wasn’t enough lounge chairs for all the occupants. We never got to sunbathe on them. The unit has all the amenities one needs buts it’s old. There was no central AC, only individual cooling units in each room & ceiling fans.

Amazing oceanfront condo. Convenient ground floor location. Papakea is a beautiful resort with all of the conveniences, but quiet and very well maintained. Relaxing!!

Papakea is an oceanfront resort. It is beautifully maintained with BBQ's, 2 pools, 2 hot tubs and relaxaing cabana at each pool. Office staff is wonderful and the parking is convenient. Papakea is the reason you go on vacation!
