Terrific Beach House for Family and Pets

We loved everything about the place and are considering coming back next year (never have repeated a stay in the same place before so that tells you this was a great trip). Beautiful house -- roomy and comfortable. Views were fantastic. Access to the beach great! Quiet beach when we were there -- the pups were able to be free. The pool was wonderful to have available at the house. Driving is allowed on the beach with an access point by the house but it was never a problem with the beach being so wide.

Family 2024 vacation

Definitely needs a curtain or blind at kitchen door, neighbors behind you just sit by their pool and watch you and wave! The home is showing wear with walls, handrails,etc. When we arrived the kitchen had not been cleaned good, especially the frig and oven had not been cleaned, we didn’t use the oven. The maintenance man is very nice and on top of fixing what we had issues with there. Overall it is a nice home, loved the pool and jacuzzi! The view is beautiful!

Fall break stay

The house is in need of a deep cleaning. The property management did respond to issues quickly, which was appreciated. A large gutter fell off the house and landed on the hot tub, fortunately we had just gotten out of it or someone could’ve been hurt. The ocean is not clear on this side of the beach, which was a disappointment. A few locals told us that the water along Indian Pass rd is murky all the time, but it’s clear around the corner in Cape San Blas. They listed this place 40% off for fall, which feels like a fair price to pay considering the cleanliness of the house and the murky water. Unfortunately, we booked early at full price so we don’t feel like we got our money’s worth since this rental is a similar price as others in the nicer part of Cape San Blas. If you are looking for the clear gulf water, don’t stay in this area.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location was wonderful, steps to the beach. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub and the house was comfortable. We definitely thought the house could use some TLC. We thought it had a run down feeling. There were no carpets at all and the steps were very slippery being tile. The pool gate was broken and did not latch properly and the stair railing going into the swimming pool is loose. Very hard for my special needs daughter to get in. The kitchen should be updated. The coffee maker is horrible- 1 hour to brew a pot of coffee and not enough cups for the amount of people the house holds. The bedrooms were comfortable. All in all decent house but a little run down for the price of rent

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the house! This is our sixth stay in the Cape San Blas area and the first time renting from Cape and Coast. The beds were very comfortable, the home was nicely furnished, and we loved having a firepit. There were four couples and three children, so it was nice having four king rooms along with the bunk beds. The only problem we had was that the kitchen was not very well equipped. We do a lot of cooking on vacations in addition to eating out. There were only five steak knives. There was a generous amount of big spoons but only four small spoons. There were several large glasses but no small ones for the little kiddos. We understand a lot of things get lost or broken in rental homes. There were two brooms, but no dust pans for we would have cleaned a little better before we left. We loved the coffee maker since four of us were coffee drinkers. The location was great. We saw dolphins every day.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house location is great. the conditiion of the house not so much. When we arrived teh trash cans were overflowing with exposed trash sitting next to it. We had to go purchase bags to clean the area up so our dogs would not make it worse. The house had a shower leak in one of the master bedrooms, making the shower unusable. The dryer in the house did not properly work. A load of towels would take up to 4 hours to dry. Multiple service men had to visit the home during our visit. (Not something you want to deal with on vacation). Due to dryer issues, we asked for additional towels. Never sent. Toilets' leaked through the ceilings. Outside of house Smelt like sewage. Only 3 of the four burners worked on the grill.

We are so sorry that you faced issues with your rental. We would have gladly picked up the extra trash for you. The trash pick up is only 1 time a week during this time of the year, so we are used to dealing with it so that guests do not have to do so. We do not want multiple service people visiting the house as well, not something we want you to deal with. But things do break down and there is no way we can know when that is going to happen. I'm not sure why there was a breakdown in your request for additional towels, but I will check to see why it didn't happen. When you called about the smell outside, we had the septic tank pumped and that ended the problem. We have had so much rain that just about every septic tank in this area filled to overflowing. But this beach home is a great family get-away with 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, private pool and a fire pit, all Gulf front with amazing views.

Dirty stove, oven, tubs, dirty shower glass door in downstairs bathroom. The microwave was especially dirty(disgusting). 4. Comforter in upstairs back right bedroom had stains on it. 5. Sink and shower handles falling off. 6. A handrail is needed at the set of stairs when you enter the home. By law, I believe all stairs cases must have a handrail. 7. Kitchen sink drips. 8. Stove light is not working. 9. Cans openers barely work. 10.Patio door locks don't work. 11.Shower door in upstairs right bathroom mot working. 4.

Beautiful private beach escape

The home was beautiful and the exact set up we needed for our family. It was our first time visiting this area and the beach was wonderful - quiet and peaceful. Our only thought was that the house hadn't had good deep clean in a while and needed it!! Under furniture, on baseboards, and around any surface that isn't a traditional clean was pretty dusty/dirty. There were also tons of biting flies the first 2 days we were there that kept us from being outside much...not sure if that is normal.

House needs minor fixes and a better cleaning

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We knew before we arrived the area was known for biting bugs, so bad you could not swim at night without being bitten. That was expected. However arriving to find a house that wasn't cleaned very well and needed minor repairs was disappointing. To mention a few finds; a cigar on the deck sofa, dirty sock behind a dresser, dirty bathroom countertops and toilets that haven't been scrubbed under the rim. As for the minor fixes, which a couple we fixed ourselves because you need a door knob to open your bedroom and a secure shower curtain rod that won't fall down and sheets on one of the top bunks. Other things that need repair include a knob for a bathroom sink, a missing and broken door handle for one of the sliding doors, remove or fix the unstable sofa table, and a kitchen sink sprayer knob that gets stuck in the spray position. No, we didn't report these issues to the rental company because we wanted to limit our exposure to people during this crazy time. We did report a Direct TV receiver not working and one was quickly shipped to the house. Although without the account number we could not activate it during our stay. An outdoor shower or platform away from the door to rinse the sand off on would be a plus and the kids complained of a hot room without a ceiling fan. A few minor touches and this house would be great!Not to end on a negative note, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen well stocked with pots and pans. The pool was just the right size for 4 kids. We did enjoy the empty beaches and local restaurants!

Wonderful

Our family of nine loved the house and the location. It is great to be able to see the beach from the house, the pool and hot tub. The private beach was so enjoyable. Not having to fight over a spot on the beach. The Stores and restaurants in Port St. Joe were great. We do feel that the cleaning service could do a better job. There were a few problems. We would recommend the house to anyone. In fact I have already given information to another family.

The house had everything we needed in the kitchen, open floor plan made it nice to have a large group downstairs without feeling cramped. Great location/walk to the beach and beautiful views from the balconies! Bath tubs were slippery, could benefit from having grips applied to bottom of tubs or replaced all together. Mosquitoes were awful outside around the house and around the pool, not that they could be helped other than spraying for them. Pool was great and very clean. Perfect size for the kids to play in. Overall perfect location/space!

I was a bit disappointed by not having any screens on the sliding doors, but understand about the effect they have on the air conditioning system. Also, I wished there was a dustpan to go along with the broom. It would have helped to remove all the sand at the bottom of the stairs. These are both rather minor complaints. Truly enjoyed my stay and hope to be back nextyear!

Nice house, rough around the edgees

Very nice house but rough around the edges. The pool was awesome! House was clean but needed painting. Garbage was left around the property from previous renters and water hose was not repaired after speaking to management 5 times. Would not stay here again.

We did find some little things: Some handles on the sliders were missing, the slider on one of the upstairs bedroom did not open, the grill only had 2 burners that worked, the shower curtain on the upstairs front right bedroom was a little moldy on the bottom, the tub faucet on the first floor bedroom came off and the dryer took a long time to dry (we think the vent is clogged). The location was great. We found good restaurants in Apalachicola and Port St. Joe since we were in between both. Not much on Cape San Blas, but we really enjoyed our visit to St. George Island. Definitely will be back.

Our week at San Sou Sea

Beautiful home and location! The kitchen could use some upgraded cookware, two small frying pans and a warped griddle made cooking tough. Other than that it was a great home and we’d rent it again!

Very nice beach. Clean and free of debris. The house is great just needs maintenance. Lots of missing light bulbs, plugs don’t work, and doors that are hard to slide. The kitchen is adequate but also needs some inventory checks. I was in the middle of preparing dinner to discover there was no can opener. It needs larger cookware for large groups and storage containers. The stairs are tough but all things considered, we would return

Great family vacation

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented this home for a week in June 2020. It was very beautiful and spacious, even with 9 adults and 5 children! The house was in a low key, family oriented beach location. Exactly what we wanted, especially with Covid issues still fresh. We basically ate in most days except for a few adventures out. A 15 minute drive would get you to grocery stores or restaurants in either St. Joe or Appalachicola We picked up fresh shrimp and fresh fish at St. Joe Shrimp Co on Cape Sand Blas. Highly recommended for fresh seafood. The home itself was immaculately clean on arrival. Beds are very comfortable. The kitchen was spacious and pretty well equipped. We took our own griddle for pancakes, sharp knives, etc. since we drove down. The pool was great for kids that got tired of the sand! As most reviews state, the water is not quite as clear as most of the gulf. It wasn’t dirty, just not a beautiful clear color. We had one horrible day of jellyfish invasion, several bad stings. The next day was better but you had to be aware of them. I guess that could happen anywhere in the gulf! The mosquitoes in the evening were so bad we didn’t get to enjoy a night out on the decks. Bug spray didn’t seem to phase the pests. But our overall trip was fantastic. Our rental company was wonderful to work with. Thank you for sharing this wonderful home with our family!
