This was a really good place to stay close to NYC! We were in town to visit colleges (NJIT/Stevens Tech) and spend time in New York City. This was an ideal location and similar price to some of the hotels nearby! The only challenge we had was the heat wave in NJ at the time. When we got there the apartment was really hot (one of my kids gets overheated and starts throwing up) - the air conditioners did catch up overnight and we had no problems after that with the heat for the rest of the trip. If you're going to arrive during another heat wave, definitely ask the owners to put the AC on the day before. Oh - also, keep in mind there's a lot of steps!Overall the place was clean, there were all the supplies we might need (garbage bags, paper towels, blankets, extra pillows, towels, etc) and there was a good size fridge! We didn't do any cooking but all the supplies were there. The place is pretty big too (much bigger than other places we've stayed in, and definitely bigger than a hotel room) - it's the top floor of a house (the whole floor) so there was easily enough room for me, my two kids & our bags.If we're ever back in the area - we'd definitely stay here again!
It was very easy to find and check in. Property was perfect for the two of us. A block away from the 34th St light rail station, making it super easy to get to NYC. Close to a grocery and liquor store if you need them.
Property was clean and close to public transportation making it easy to visit the statue of liberty and other New York sites. Most of the time could park car outside and there was a relatively cheap ($15 a day) parking lot within a block. Ate at a local restaurant about a block away that was good and the Walgreens is within walking distance too.
Check out after 1 night during a 8 night reservation. Not as clean as advertised. Linens didn't seem freshly washed. No hot water in Dec. Asking for some sort of accommodation/refund from owner. Yet to be resolved.
Hi, im Toney. I used to be a sales Rep for a very big company. After a few years of fast pace and deadline rush, i decided it was time to move on , and do what i enjoyed to work on: cars and real state. At the time, i was already owning a few investments, so becoming a real state flipper was the right move. Car business came along as a hobbie, a time to do something productive while having fun. Besides that Im a fishing afishionado so, i love traveling islands. My favorite so far has been Bermuda. The clear waters, the weather, the people and all the kind of fish you can find. is like opening a surprise box. My kids love it, it is a great way to have bonding time with them. It is in my interest you feel comfortable and enjoy your staycation, as I understand what might drive you to a getaway. Hope to see you soon!
I am a second generation of inmigrants. When my parents moved to America, all the way from Cairo egypt before i was born, they settled in this town. I know this town and its people. This town has a lot to offer, i would say the only thing i would choose different is a summer all year round, I would definitely keep the rest the way it is.
