I'm beyond shocked that you would have the audacity to provide this home with a 3 star review after an isolated incident of pest control issues. Particularly after I jumped through hoops to provide resolution. Your lack of graciousness is beyond disappointing; but honestly not terribly surprising given your attitude. First of all, you made the comment "the home is aging and needs upkeep attention"; yet you were unable to articulate any specifically related complaints. Walking in to see ant traps in a house in SWFL is certainly not a "red flag to leave"....it's merely an added measure of pest control protection in a subtropic environment. The fact that you would even make such an uninformed comment is a testament to your dramatic mentality. We manage approximately 50 properties in Naples and maintain routine pest control services for all of the properties. However, if a guest reports activity, we're obviously going to request additional services. You reported ant activity and a couple of dead palmetto bugs and we had pest control services dispatched the next day. They were scheduled to arrive around noon, but were running behind and showed up closer to 3pm. You reported you were hanging out by the pool.....not a surprising thing to be doing on vacation. There was no reason for you to be at home, nor was your presence requested. The next text came at 10:30pm in the form of a video of ant activity on a wall in the hallway. I drove to the house and left a can of ant spray. The next morning you insisted you were moving out of the house while I attempted to find an unoccupied home within my rental inventory, which you declined. You demanded a refund of unused days, a refund for the last nights stay, and a refund of the cleaning fees......which I agreed to provide and even drove to your next rental to deliver the check in person the next day. I inspected the rental home within minutes of your departure to find absolutely zero ant activity, nor has there been any activity since that day. The bottom line is I suspect the new mulch around the house had been the culprit to the initial issue. It stands to reason that when the pest control performs a spray that there's an onset of activity as they respond to the spray. It is after all a process. While we are always eager to resolve any guest related issues, to suggest there was anything misleading about this property or how the situation was handled is unreasonable and unfair. The real truth is that most property managers would have refused to provide refunds for unused days when there was absolutely no reason to depart the property due to resolution of pest activity. However, recognizing your dramatic nature, we were more than eager to accommodate. However, we were extremely shocked and appalled that you would proceed with efforts to soil the reputation of both my business as well as this lovely rental home which we represent. You've shown lack of graciousness and character to take these measures after we treated you with such fairness and respect. Having said all of this, the long list of 5 star reviews will continue to be a testament to this property and seasoned travellers will be able to read between the lines. Respectfully, Itrip Management
