My coworker and I had a great stay in this lovely apartment when we visited Nola for work. It was even cozier and sunnier than it looks in the photos, the neighborhood is quiet, and the location is close to loads of options for food and fun. The host was warm and friendly and checked in to make sure we had what we needed. I'd absolutely stay here again!
If you like the listing you will love the stay. As advertised but with more room than I thought. Quiet neighborhood, very close to Tulane. Great communication with host.
Gorgeous apartment with air conditioner and all the essentials. Safe neighborhood with a short walk to Frerut Street with lots of food and drinks options. I would definitely stay here again.
We were in New Orleans for our daughterâs wedding week and staying at Chandlerâs home was perfect! The location in Central Nola worked out so well for all the errands and wedding festivities. This is a darling home, super clean, lots of room and a great kitchen for cooking. The neighborhood is great too! We loved it.
Just like the last time we stayed, the house was clean, comfortable, and quiet. We enjoyed the location and the good night of sleep after our excursions. The only complaint I have is that the coffee pot was broken.
This was a wonderful upstairs unit for me, my husband and our 25 yo daughter who was visiting NOLA for the first time. The only reason I gave accuracy of listing 4 stars is that to my knowledge there was no backyard fire pit or we would have used it. The host was quick to reply to any questions that I had and was accommodating regarding our hour late checkout. The sunroom was fantastic! Beds were comfortable and I felt safe in the neighborhood. We took an Uber to FQ and other places we wanted to see. Would definitely recommend this place.
Enjoyed our stay while visiting New Orleans. It was a little confusing to find our way to the place, but we found navigating New Orleans to be a bit of a challenge overall. They don't believe in the shortest distance from one place to the next with their streets in this city! đ€Ł The host for our VRBO was very responsive and the owners provided a very well stocked kitchen, bathroom and laundry room. Those extra touches were much appreciated.
Overall, Chandler's place was a good place for our visit to New Orleans to visit our daughter at Tulane. The apartment is upstairs and has a lot of natural light. This was great since many rentals are bottom units that tend to be dark and cave-like! There was plenty of space for my husband and I to spread out, and if our daughter had stayed with us then for her as well. We were able to cook in the kitchen and watch our shows on the smart tv (after Chandler quickly hooked the Roku back up as the last guests had unplugged it!). The neighborhood was safe and quiet. Its about a mile from Tulane, a 20 minute walk, which was convenient on the day of Crawfest. I felt the place could have been a bit cleaner. The floors felt a little dirty on my bare feet. The kitchen has open cabinets and the spice bottles and stuff felt a little dusty/dirty. There were dirty dishes left in the dishwasher as well. The bathroom mirror needs to be replaced as its hard to see yourself but there are other mirrors in the place. Finally, even though there is off street parking the spot has a lot of broken pieces of concrete that were hitting the bottom of our rental car when we drove onto them. We ended up parking on the street for most of the trip, which was fine. These were all small things and would not keep us from requesting to stay at Chandler's place again!
This rental is the top floor of a house and the owner lives on the bottom floor. I think I missed that fact and thought it was a side by side duplex. I probably wouldn't have rented it if I had known only because I don't like worrying about any noise our family might make to disturb anyone below us. But it turned out fine. (But if any one has issues with stairs you may want to avoid this one, long and winding.) As I said the house is spacious and perfectly accommodated our family of three. The neighborhood was also comfortable and safe feeling. NO neighborhoods change almost street by street and as we were driving closer to the rental I was getting a little concerned, but as other reviewers have stated the house was in a middle-to- working family area. We had no problems during our stay but it is convenient to have the owner downstairs. The house is about 20 mins from the airport and centrally located to all NOLA sites of interest. I am definitely a neat freak and can easily be turned off by even a mediocrely cleaned house. This house was clean and I was comfortable using everything. What would make this a 4.5 rating instead of 4 are some small but important things if you are going to rent a house. One was the mirror in the bathroom. It's old fashioned and has a nice shabby chic vibe but it has aged to the point that one's face is not clearly visible. This makes it tough for women to do make up and for any close ups. Adding a ceiling fan in the bathroom, for obvious reasons, would be nice. Also I am a HUGE fan of WHITE towels. They can easily be bleached and not just washed. So this place could use a towel upgrade to all white and a few more please. Same goes for sheets, all white please (which I think most of them were.) As I said we are a small family but the silverware situation would have caused problems with a big family. I think there were 2 spoons or 2 forks? Some air freshener would also be a good addition. It was very stale smelling when we first arrived. One last thought would be the refrigerator. It had some old ice cream and some very old ice in the freezer in a bag but no ice trays. So all very minor additions would really put this house over the top. I would definitely recommend staying here!
My brother and I stayed here for our first trip to NOLA. It was centrally located and in a very nice neighborhood making it easy to walk pretty much anywhere you needed to. The house was clean, cozy and has character. We had a great time and would definitely recommend staying here!!
I'll never stay in a hotel in NOLA ever again. Chandler is so great to work with and accommodating. (We needed a can opener for making pies for Thanksgiving!) Sorry everyone else but we're calling dibs on every Thanksgiving from now on.
We reached late evening. The owner Chandler had emailed us detailed instructions and we had no trouble checking in.
Great location - Driveable distance to Jackson Square, French quarter and all other attractions. Can walk to the streetcar and ride to all attractions as well. Safe location. We could park on the street outside the property.
Property is on the top floor, so need to climb a flight of stairs to access. Can be a bit of an issue if you have luggage.
Well cleaned and sanitized. All the towels, sheets were well washed and cleaned. The beds were not very comfortable though and they were rickety. The WiFi was not very good too.
The owner Chandler was very helpful and quick to respond to any questions we had.
Overall a good experience. And very convenient to enjoy all the fun of NOLA!
Chandler was very responsive from the initial contact. Apartment was clean and comfortable. It was a nice and quiet little neighborhood. Would definitely consider it for our next visit.
This place was great. Super location in a safe neighborhood. Parking was ample. The place was clean and well-stocked if you forgot something. The owner was easy to communicate with and quick to respond. No issues at all. Would highly recommend.
My husband and I were looking for a quieter New Orleans experience for this particular weekend, and we were not disappointed. The house was cozy, the neighborhood was quiet, and the atmosphere was welcoming.
We are looking forward to another trip sometime soon.
I was born and raised in New Orleans. I am the Executive Director of a non-profit organization here that runs enrichment focused afterschool and summer programs for local youth.
