We loved our getaway, the home is as described and has a fully enclosed backyard. Easy walking to coffee, playground and local amenities, and a short drive to all the Hunter has to offer :) A bbq would be a great addition to this property.
Just to let other stayers know, there were no sharp knives when we visited.
Paulâs place is really lovely, the house is clean and well kept and close to wineries and the town, would definitely stay again and recommend the place to friends and family
We loved our short stay at the Cottage. Everything was luxurious, very clean and has everything we needed. Itâs a great location for exploring the Hunter Valley.
Had a great two nighter here with the family. Close to everywhere. The house is a little dated being so old but with an updated bathroom and modern updates we didnât want for anything. An amazing bath that fits two adults! Would def stay here again and recommend đđ»
The house was peace and quiet, the location was great. The houses decorated like modern but classic looks, nice place to get away for vacation and especially the hot spa, my nieces and nephew were enjoying it. They was hopping in everyday if thereâs a free time. Recommend to anyone would wanted to stay at Cessnock. 10 to 15 minutes drive from winery places and 3 mintues from shopping Central.
Nicely presented cottage. We needed the aircon to make it cosy, maybe poor insulation in the old style building?
Some in our group thought an electric blanket on the beds would help, but my bed was snug.
Quiet street close to great Italian restaurant & golf courses . Thanks Paul
We enjoyed our stay. Property is a quaint old Victorian style home. It was on the colder side, but wasnt too bad with the hearing on. It could use some additional blankets (we had read pevious reviews and bought extras with us which we needed)
We recieved checkin info on time and it was easy to access the prperty (screen door doesnt lock which would be better for security)
Proprty was clean and tidy on arrival with the exception of some mould on the roof in the back room (this could be due to the recent large amounts of rain the week before).
Lounge is not particularly comfortable and some of the furniture is a getting a little tired and damaged.
We had issues with getting the spa to heat which was disappointing as this is the reason we chose this older property over a few newer ones we saw at the time. The owner was helpful and called to try to explain to us how to reset the spa (i had also followed these instructions given on the checkin info) but despite this it still did not heat beyond 29 degrees which was just too cold to use. Due to leaving the next day we couldnt followup with the owner again, however i think it just doesnt work properly and needs to be fixed.
Overall we were happy with our stay.
