I was worried about renting in Memphis, because I donât know the area, but this is a great location! The house was prefect. We felt very safe. Very happy with our stay. Loved everything about the home.
Our stay was a graduation trip for my daughter and her friend, both 18. Really, the trip was all about Elvis, but everything was so close to our neighbor. We went to Beale St., The Pyramid (Bass Pro Shop) and ate at the Wahiburgers restaurant. We went to Sun Studios, Graceland, and even took a road trip to Tupelo Mississippi to see Elvis's birthplace. Everything was so close to where we were staying. The Dynamite Cooper Young house was perfect for us. The 2 teenagers got the master and then my friend and I each had our own bedrooms. It was clean and everything you needed was there. The host was exceptional, she responded quickly to any email I sent her and very friendly. Also, the neighborhood was good and quite. I would recommend this rental to anyone who travels to Memphis.
This property was everything advertised and then some. Great kitchen to prepare meals, nice sized living room along with 3 bedrooms! This place was within minutes of Beale St, Sun Studios and many BBQ locations. Did not have a bad meal while here. Shout out to Kimble for accommodating me arriving a day early due to inclement weather coming in.I would definitely stay here again.
Our kids invited us to spend time with them at Thanksgiving. Since we live across the state and my dad was coming with us, we located this lovely Craftsman home that was near the University of Memphis and our oldest.
Our hosts kept the process simple and we were delighted with our stay. We even got to have the kids to supper a couple of times.
We loved our trip to Memphis. I knew nothing about the city or where to stay. I happened upon this house and couldn't be happier that I did. It is so full of character and charm. It has everything you need and more. It is super clean and so well stocked. The ease of check in was appreciated after a long travel day. The location is perfect. A close drive to everything you want to see in Memphis, but the neighborhood it's in is amazing! A short walk from great bars and restaurants. It was nice to come back to the house after a day of sight seeing, sit on the porch or back yard and relax. Do not hesitate to stay here if you visit the wonderful city of Memphis. We will surely be back!
Communication before check-in was great. Check-in was super easy. Directions given were spot on. House was perfect for 4 adults. Plenty of room for cooking and playing games. We did have to buy pots to cook in as there was not a lot of options in the kitchen. Neighborhood is located with easy access to most places we wanted to go. Use caution going to closest grocery and Dollar General stores, especially after dark. Cooper-Young Neighborhood was a cute neighborhood a few blocks away with some great restaurants. Immediate neighborhood was a large mix of updated, well kept houses and run down ones. Heat was hard to regulate, especially in the bedrooms at night. Lots of neat accents and charm in the house though. Beds were comfy. Bring your extension cords, as outlets are at a premium. All in all we really enjoyed our stay. We will probably stay here again when we are back in Memphis.
The house has a lot of charm though it needs to be spruced up. The home had a musty odor that did not go away with air fresheners nor ceiling fans and a/c. It was tidy however needs a thorough cleaning i.e. hallway and bathroom vents coated with dust. The door knob of one bedroom was not fixed as noted by prior renter. We did not cook other than a light meal for breakfast. Neither the backyard or BBQ grill was used.
Note to owner: The 2 step downs - one in the kitchen and the other in the back bedroom should be made more visible to renters to avoid potential liability issues.
Kindly note for anyone who is a light sleeper there are neighborhood dogs who are barkers and cargo trains which run through.
Memphis attractions did not disappoint us at all. In addition to Graceland, we highly recommend the National Civil Rights Museum, and National Ornamental Metal Museum. Other highlights include Stax Museum of American Soul Music, Elmwood Cemetery, Blues Hall of Fame, Mud Island River Park, Bass Pro Shop at the Pyramid, Sun Studio, and Dixon Gallery & Gardens. Our visit would not have been complete without listening to music in both downtown and Cooper Young areas.
We ate at restaurants that served dry and wet BBQ but one of our favorite meals was at Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken in downtown. By far the best fried chicken we have ever eaten. Other restaurants we recommend include Beauty Shop, Soul Fish Cafe, Stickem, Public Bistro, and Huey's Midtown.
The home was well-appointed and decorated tastefully. We felt safe and enjoyed the Cooper-Young Garden Tour. The home's location was centrally located to visit historical attractions, museums, great eateries, and Graceland.
was close to everything and very nice neighbor hood wish the grill worked and the back yard was cleaned up would be a nice place to gather and eat all in all a great place we would stay again
Great house! Had a slight issue with the code checking in and the property manager was on it and handled it immediately! My sister also forgot her charger and the property manager mailed it back to us! We would stay here again!
Great stay! I really appreciated Kimble's management of the property access. We had the access code months in advance! I rent a lot of VRBOs and I find it vexing to have to chase that down day of arrival. Thanks!
Comfortable beds and brand new (?) washer/dryer units. Nice.
5 stars all the way around. Two suggestions for the house:
1. More lightweight folding chairs for the porch to enjoy morning coffee outside with a bigger group
2. A recycling vessel for bottles and cans
Thanks, Kimble!
We were attending a family wedding and this property was just what we needed. Clean, nicely appointed, roomy, and great location. We enjoyed many of the restaurants/lounges nearby. Communication was excellent, check in/out was a breeze. Weâd be happy to stay here again.
My husband Matt and I lived in our Dynamite Craftsman for years when we were younger. We just loved it and the super fun neighborhood and think you will too. We live in town and are available for anything you might need, yet we give our guests their space to really make themselves at home.
Copper Young is Memphisâ favorite neighborhood, with the best restaurants and some of the coolest shops, bars and venues in town. Our 2 Bathroom, 3 BR home is just2 blocks from Young Avenue and the heart of this vibrant, thriving neighborhood.
A rare gem for turn of the century craftsmen in the area, our Dynamite Craftsman has two full bathrooms and 3 BR. Plenty of room for everyone. Weâve done a ton of updating, including a beautiful kitchen and a large deck out back.
