We loved this property. Great old style house nicely furnished. Would definitely recommend. No handrailing's on the stairs made it a little difficult for my elderly dad so if you have someone with mobility issues keep this in mind. Otherwise a great property.
The cottage was amazing and well situated to the shops. Our only complaint is that in the welcome book it mentioned the wine and coffee that was left for us which we didnât get. Also there was only one toilet roll left and no sponge to wash up with. Sounds trivial but we were trying to look after this lovely place.
We loved this 1910 built cottage. Absolutely stunning inside. Incredibly clean. Lovely sitting in the garden enjoying a wine with friends. Affordable. We will absolutely be staying here again. The only thing I would say is the curtains in the main bedroom needed to be darker and easier to close, it would not stop us staying here again. Loved it!
We are fairly new to stayz accommodation but this was a perfect, and much less costly, alternative to staying in one of the big resorts.
We came up with 2x grandparents, 2x parents, 3 year old and newborn and the property catered for all.
The property was big enough to have own space, but cozy enough that our three year old was happy to be in a separate bedroom (although there was a day bed in our room just in case).
All amenities were catered for, with lots of attention to detail.
The property itself was clean, well looked after and well renovated. Water pressure was excellent, a little too good causing shower flooding but there were instructions and squeegees in the bathroom should that happen.
We would love to stay here again.
The property has such a beautiful period style aesthetic. The gardens are well maintained and the outdoors completely functional. Close to lots of good food options and only 10 minutes from the hunter valley. Communication with the host was effortless.
Delightful cottage conveniently located to the Lower Hunter vineyards
A lovingly restored period cottage and beautiful gardens close to amenities and the lower Hunter vineyards and tourist spots. Includes all the amenities required for a comfortable stay including an updated kitchen and bathroom.
We loved staying here. Beautifully styled throughout and a comfortable stay. Immaculate garden and well maintained. Loved sitting on verandah. Weâd recommend to friends.
Delightful House with a very pleasing decor and central to most wineries
My friends and I overall enjoyed staying at Camelia House. It is situated in a very central location in Cessnock and to most wineries. No winery was more than 15 mins drive away. The decor and colours used throughout the property were very pleasing. There were three things which disappointed us: the amount of dust in the house which caused two of us to get allergies and didnât sleep well as a result. The mattresses need to be changed as they arenât firm. The impractical location of the floor waste in the shower: one had to carefully shower with very limited water coming out of the shower head, to avoid flooding the floor due to bad design of the water waste location.
expected a house got a grand design
inspiring structure but reno will not please the purist
lovely place to stay and stays warm or cold once ac set up due to double brick structure
Nice house however air conditioner was not working , so we were pretty cold for the first day until the electrical heaters actually started warming the house. Also the power kept turning off and had to flick switch on at electricity box, not fun when it was dark and raining outside.
Would highly recommend Camelia Cottage for a weekend getaway. I stayed with 4 friends over a weekend. The house was stunning, close to coffee shops and we throughly enjoyed cooking in the big kitchen and roasting marshmallows on the fireplace.
The house was beautiful. Went for a weekend wine tour getaway and this was the perfect place to stay. Could not recommend Camellia Cottage more higly. Only regret is that our stay wasn't longer!
This period cottage was very comfortable, beautifully restored, and yet having all the modern conveniences you require. Clean, roomy and beautifully furnished, it was delightful staying here. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
