Family getaway

1minute walk to the beach, and short drive to the other beaches. Large house and decent size backyard. Has everything we need and is comfortable. Dog friendly and has a small kennel for small sized dog outside with food and water bowls. The dog and kids enjoyed their stay.

Callala

Callala was beautiful place to stay. Accommodation was ok but the place needs some TLC. Needs to be checked for previous dog mess!! Netflix advertised but unavailable for the whole stay and we had 5 days of rain. Overpriced

Callala Bay holiday

We had a very wet week at Callala (which was always going to make our stay challenging). The house was adequate for our needs but does need a clean with bits left under beds etc. The coffee machine had mould in it and we had to make the yard dog proof as both gates didn’t close when we arrived. In saying that we enjoyed our stay, the kitchen is new which was great and it was just a short walk to the beautiful bay, perfect for young children.

Really great location - Callala Bay is beautiful and being walking distance from the beach and the shops was ideal. Nathan was a great host, very responsive and pleasant to deal with. Very simple furnishings, but this would be a big plus for those travelling with kids and/or dogs. Excellent DVD selection! We did find some cleanliness issues - stained bedsheets, BBQ needed a very thorough clean, kitchenware that needed an extra clean before use. Also, while the host noted that they did not provide bath towels, we were surprised when there was also no kitchen towels/tea towels. No hand towels/bath mats either, though one may infer that from the "no bath towels" note. No hand soap and very little kitchen cleaning supplies (kitchen roll, etc).

Overall, clean & tidy inside. Great position for the Bay, beaches, shops & walks. Very laid back lifestyle. Some small issues with lighting. No Wifi, but has Netflix. Garden/Backyard overgrown. Thanks for the experience.

Fairly average old beachhouse

It was a fairly average old beach house with a lot of semi-working qualities - taps loose, fly screens a bit run down. There was basically no acoustic separation between the of the rooms / floors. Yard is big and nice. The neighbours played their TV super loud a lot which ruined a bit of the ambiance. Location is not the nicest part of Jervis bay (adjacent beach was pretty average) but central location to get north or south. Some good local restaurants with a good fish and chip shop and pizzeria.

Awesome little getaway

Sinead was a great host. Very responsive and got back to us very quickly. The house was in a good location. We had 2 families stay with kids so the split level was good, we were on the top level and the other family in the bottom. It's not the most extravagant house, but if you are looking for a affordable place that fits a larger group, this place is great :)

Basic but okay

The location of Sinead’s property is great, nice and close to the bay. The property is very basic though. Heating was insufficient, kitchen tap broken (still usable and to be fair Sinead was not aware it was broken), fire pit was a few rocks clumped together in the back corner of the yard and the home was drafty. Parts have been upgraded, new floors, paint and kitchen. Beds were reasonably comfortable, although we were very glad we brought our own blankets as the light weight doonas wouldn’t have cut it. Sinead was friendly and quick to respond to questions. Would be a great house for two families looking for an okay (not cheap) priced holiday.

Great spot for a group/family getaway

Second time staying with Sinead and it's been a pleasure both times. The house is simple, clean and comfortable, an easy walk to the beach. Both times we've been a group of 8+ adults and found that we had all the space & utensils/amenities we needed. Sinead is a responsive, relaxed and helpful host. Would happily stay again.

Hi Manish, Thank you for the valuable feedback. I am not sure when or how the curtin in the downstairs bathroom was torn nor how the toothbrush holder was broken but we will fix them both as soon as possible. Sorry again for the TV reception problem, but I am glad we could resolve the issue immediately over the phone upon receiving your call. I have already reminded the cleaner to not turn-off the booster switch when they clean the property. Although, as per the photos, the bones of the property are a 90’s beach house, I do hope the brand new Cesaarstone kitchen, the new flooring throughout the property, as well as the freshly painted internal walls and ceilings went someway to making your stay a more comfortable one. Thanks again. Regards Sinead

Just what we needed

The house was amazing for our large group and had everything we needed. We were a group of soccer parents and our daughters and the bonding experience our girls had this weekend was amazing. The walk down to the bay was easy and quick and we went star-gazing on the sand at night. Our city girls had never seen so many stars! Just a bit further along the sand was a bbq and picnic tables, and a playground, where we enjoyed breakfast and a chat with the locals. We even shared our sausage sandwiches with a few early morning walkers.

Great Property

We were a group of 9 people and this property suited us well. Location was spot on, 5 min walk to the beach, quiet area and very relaxing. The house had all the amenities that we required with lots of games and DVD to keep the kids entertained. Back yard was great for BBQ each night. We had a wonder 4 day stay and would go back there again. A few upgrade to the property would be nice, but apart from that can not fault it for location or relaxation.

A fabulous stay

We had a very relaxing stay at Callala Bay. The house was very well equipped, with everything we needed at our fingertips. I loved being able to walk our dogs down the street and along the beach. Or on days we left the dogs at home it was great to know they had a large, secure backyard to play in. Jervis Bay is home to my favourite beaches in the world.

Excellent location for a family vacation!

Our family and friends, a total of 7 of us, found the location and property perfect for our needs! AND it's pet friendly! We cooked our dinners at home and the kitchen was well equipped! The outdoor fire pit was awesome for our evening entertainment and wine! The beach is right down the street and we loved every minute of our time there! Other sights and events are within 10-20k in any direction. There's a ferry from Myola right to Huskisson which worked out wonderfully for us to all go whale watching! It ended up our ferry captains wife, Jenny, came to meet me at the pier as it turned out we were from the same place in Iowa as children! What a small world! Thank you so much for renting your home to us! I hope wa can return someday!
