We enjoyed a walk in the creek before the rain hit for the weekend. Spent time shopping in Boone and playing lots of board games. Was a delightful getaway before sending my son off to college. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Our family had a great time at this home. It had everything we needed. We loved how private it is and the close proximity to Boone. I would stay here again for sure.
Easily slept our 6 guests is a clean and well located location just minutes from ASU. Easy in and out and a great host!! Would definitely stay here again
We enjoyed our stay. The house had ample room for our 5 people. The beds were comfortable but we brought our own pilllows so canât speak to those. We made a meal in the kitchen and had all we needed & we also ordered takeout one night as there were plenty of nearby options. The large yard was nice and there is a creek behind the house. It was quite peaceful in the evenings. The communications with the owner were very timely for both the anrrival instructions and responses to questions. The only slight downside was that the stairs to the 2nd floor were steep enough that my elderly parents were not comfortable going up and down. Luckily there was a bedroom and bathroom on the first floor so it worked out. We would stay again!
The house was very clean and in a quiet location. Great location for any events at Appalachian State.
Homeowner was very responsive and made the stay an easy process.
We will definitely check into availability the next time we are in the area.
Easy, quiet and relaxing. Myra was extremely accommodating and we had no issues during our stay. The property was spacious and secluded, but only a few minutes drive from town. Highly recommend!
Great location, very close to the center of Boone. Great mountain feel with creek in the back yard. Wished we could have had more time in the day to enjoy the outside. Very well equipped for your needs on vacation or a weekend get away.
Myraâs listing was just what we needed. The house was exactly as listed. And, the creek behind the house was an added bonus. Our entire family, including three kids and three dogs, had a wonderful weekend! We would definitely stay here again.
Quiet property within minutes of ASU. Easy check in. Plenty of space for 4 adults and 2 big dogs. Howards creek runs behind house. Owner makes house very welcoming and accommodating.
Our family stayed in this rental to spend the weekend with our daughter who attends ASU. It is the perfect house for a small family with wonderful amenities like a woody backyard, fire pit, creek, and good location to hiking and campus. We were also able to bring our golden retriever which made the weekend feel even more like home away from home. Definite plans to return here for visits during the college years!
My family of six stayed for a long weekend in December as my daughter graduated from App. State. The house perfectly met our needs. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed to make a celebratory dinner, and the location was far enough from the busy roads to make it a relaxing and peaceful stay, but not so far away that it was an inconvenience. It rained much of the time we were there, so being able to utilize the garage was a great bonus. Overall, it was a great stay and, since our daughter is planning to stay in the Boone area, Iâm sure weâll be back.
Everything was exactly as described and we had plenty of room. We only had two issues. We had to get toilet paper and washcloths. Iâm positive if I had called someone they would have fixed it. Kitchen was stocked and the beds were comfortable. We will rent this home again..
We had a baseball tournament at App State over the weekend, and this house was perfect for us! We were close to the campus and the downtown King Street area, plus there was a grocery store and movie theater about a mile away. The house was clean and on a nice piece of property. Our boys ran around outside and tried trout fishing in the creek out back. The living room was nice and big, as well as the eat in kitchen! The owner was great-so easy to deal with and always available to answer questions.
We will definitely be staying here again next time we're in Boone.
My husband and I along with our good friends and their daughter recently stayed in this great home. The pictures and description of the property are accurate. The home is very welcoming, spacious and clean. The home has everything you need whether staying for a weekend or longer. The home is just minutes from ASU. We enjoyed walking to the stream behind the home and listening to the flowing water. We even saw trout! The home is located in a very quiet and peaceful setting. Myra, the owner was great to work with. If you are looking for a great vacation rental in Boone with all the comforts of home this is the place!
This home is in a lovely location, but it is old. There is no central air, which we expected, so one room was super hot. Needs updating and to have a more thorough cleaning. Loved the chocolate left for us to enjoy and the property owner is nice and responsive.
I was expecting a recliner in the living room. I had a person that only sleeps in a recliner and in the photo it shows a large recliner. It was a large inconvenience for us at that point. We had to try and make other arrangements for him. The water pressure was very low. In the upper bathroom the water was going from hot to cold. The home was very well stocked and easy access. Only one bedroom up stairs had air. Over all we had a great vacation.
We were four hot Floridians (3 adults and one child) who went to Boone to relax and cool off. The house helped us relax and the weather cooled us down. From our grandson playing in the creek in the backyard to swinging on the swing set in the side yard, watching a bunny and a turkey passing through the yard each day, to the mama and baby deer enjoying a cool drink from the creek, we found peace. The house is very comfortable, fully stocked, there were even toys for our grandson. The TV worked well as did all the appliances, including the very convenient washer and dryer. The oversized two car garage was very nice to pull into at the end of a busy day, or when unloading groceries. The beds were comfortable and the linens oh-so-soft. The neighborhood was incredibly quiet, even during the July 4th week. Myra is easy to contact with any questions or concerns. Itâs so hard to book a spot without really seeing it, but we hit the jackpot this time! Thank you, Myra, for allowing us to enjoy your lovely home!
ASU graduate in 1983. Moved into this nice home on a large flat lot with a mountain stream in the back yard in 1997. I have moved to Greensboro and only come up whenever I can to enjoy the cool summers, the beautiful leaves, holidays in the Mountains, and to take the grandchildren hiking and skiing.
This is a great central location to do all the great activities Boone and the surrounding area affords. Just a few miles to the Blue Ridge Parkway, to Grandfather Mountain and the Highland Games, Tweetsie Railroad, local ski resorts, to ASU and many sporting activities, to the Greenway for walking, into Boone for shopping, etc.
