The house is full of charm and dates from (I think) the 1960s – with a modern kitchen and bathroom – and has been lovingly maintained. We enjoyed relaxing in the light filled living room, made good use of the well-equipped kitchen (and the BBQ) and really appreciated the space. It is in a quiet location, a short walk into town, and handy for the various beaches.Communication with Lara was smooth and efficient. We’d have no hesitation returning here or recommending it to someone else.

Perfect Stay in Port Fairy

Our stay at the Holiday House was fantastic. Great location to walk to town and beach. The house was clean and spacious with everything provided for a comfortable stay. Hosts were proactive in sending instructions well in advance and had welcoming treats. The house is amazing with huge bedrooms and various spaces to relax. Gorgeous decor and wonderful art. We also enjoyed the eclectic record collection! Would have loved to stay longer than a weekend! Will definitely book again!

Lovely Christmas break

The house was clean and comfortable and Lana was very welcoming. Personal touches like a mini Christmas tree and provisions in the fridge. She was also very helpful with any last minute queries I had. The kitchen was very well equipped which was important as we were there on Christmas Day. Loved the location as it was a short distance to walk into town or to the ocean.

The most comfortable house ever

Wow, such an incredibly comfortable home. After 4yrs of staying in Port Fairy, this is THE best home. Comfy couches, excellent rooms for kids to play in (the back playroom and the reading room, then also the ma8n sitting room. Rooms were spacious and clean. There was even some bikes, boogie boards and various rackets/bats to add to the enjoyment of our stay. The owners thought of everything. And communication was fast and polite. I absolutely recommend this house for a family stay.

The house is large and very well equipped with all the accessories you would require, and looks to be very family friendly (although we were all 40+). A nice location and excellent communication with the host made for a rewarding and relaxing stay.

Disappointed

I struggled to write this review because it is so at odds with reviews done by other users. We found the property was a real mixed bag--the lounge and dining areas were bright and airy and the kitchen very well equipped crockery and cutlery and the room filled with games would have been great for children. Our disappointment came in the lack of maintenance of the property and the garden. Many plants and lawns were dead, the lock to the back sunroom was broken and couldnt be opened by key from the outside--the lock was held in place by a piece of wood,the microwave bottom is rusted and when my wife went to use it the air conditioner and TV turned off so there appear to be safety issues. The bedrooms were not well presented-we were told that the underfloor heating was not working but we could use the air conditioners in one bedroom but that bed was not made up--all the bedding was just on top of the bed-the sheets in all the otherbedrooms were badly creased and screwed up and my wife had to remake the beds. The light fittings in the lounge were as shown in the photos of the property which had to have been taken many years ago and were now stained and yellow. The wood heater had not been cleaned from previous use. I hate writing this review-- as this is so at odds with what I would have preferred to have written but if I am not honest then there is no purpose in doing a review at all.

Overall pretty good

3 good sized bedrooms although we only used 2, close to river and beach. Plenty of utensils for cooking, good sized games room for kids. Shower floor gets quite slippery when wet but a rubber bath mat would fix that.

Summer stay in Port Fairy

Our family of 4 had a wonderful stay at the Holiday House in Port Fairy. The house was so bright and welcoming and well stocked with everything we might need. It was an easy walk to the shops or Pea Soup beach, and a very short car ride to East Beach. We hope to visit again soon. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Perfect Port Fairy !

We had a fantastic three nights here. The location was great- nice and central for everything. The house itself was so spacious and homely and in the garden setting it was really relaxing for the whole family.The board games were great fun and we enjoyed the log burner after a busy day out and about. Great property for a getaway short or long

Such a great property, Lana made the experience so easy. The property had everything we needed for our Easter stay with plenty of room to spread out, yet such a cosy property. It smelt lovely, small details such as interesting books and games throughout the property. Highly recommend and would love to visit again.
