Mountain Ash is a great property for a small group in the heart of Katoomba.Good sized rooms with a good variation of options (doubles, single rooms, bunk downstairs - though this was originally difficult to find as the stairs are in a sneaky spot).Great living areas and huge dining table to get the whole group around, great kitchen with helpful middle table/island/prep bench.Would definitely stay again.
I was sad to leave this house as it had such a comfortable, homey feel to it. It was warm, quiet, the beds were comfortable, everything was very clean and everything we needed for the little cooking we did was there. No linens are provided, there's an extra charge or bring your own. There's a washer and dryer and clothes-horse (no laundry detergent). The location was very close to town and scenic world. Behind the backyard are just trees and I would love to visit in Summer and sit out on the back deck because I imagine it would be very peaceful. It would be an ideal place for two families or extended family to holiday together. It was just so comfortable. I would stay there again and wholeheartedly recommend it.
With four adults and four teenagers we were very comfortable. Initially we had another adult included but he didn't end up joining us. If he had come we still would have been comfortable. The living spaces were great and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. The table in the kitchen was really useful and the dining table could easily fit us all.The location was great for what we needed. Communication with Lisa was easy. Questions were answered promptly and communication was clear at every step. We would happily book this house again.
Great venue for a family or group of friends. Older style house with facilities reflecting this. Kitchen well stocked with all equipment. Great location with all Katoomba venues and sights within a few minutes drive or walk.
A roomy, comfortable house with a generously appointed kitchen. 10 of us ate well, slept well and had the most wonderful bushwalks. The house had everything we wanted, with such a lovely outlook and in a quiet area.
We highly recommend this house.
Mountain Ash provided perfect accommodation for us during the long weekend. The location is very good, 20 minutes walk to Three Sisters. We had 4 families together. It has enough space and proper beds for 13 of us in total. Facilities in kitchen is very well maintained and pretty new. The central heating system is very efficient.
I would highly recommend to anyone travelling to the area.
Pros: Check in was easy, house was spacious and quiet with off street parking which we appreciated and a nice large, eat in kitchen. Blue rays and chess set were utilised by the kids so thank you. They also enjoyed the large yard. The central heating was also a nice suprise. Host was good at communicating and even followed us up when she thought we had left something behind which was kind.
Cons: the house was pretty pricey, but the level of cleanliness could have been better - Main areas were ok, but places like windowsills and under furniture were pretty dusty (we even found a couple of old dirty socks under the beds when checking out) and some of the doona covers supplied were stained. The upstairs of the house was in fair condition, although dated and needing a bit of TLC, but I wouldn't recommend utilising the downstairs....the door to outside was held closed with a piece of wood jammed into the door frame and the bathroom looked very unpleasant (had a hole in the wall and we worried it may have been damaged fibre cement sheets so we kept the kids away...). Our extra adult dropped out the day before, but I would have felt bad if she had slept down there. Luckily, we only needed to use upstairs, which was comfortable.
The house is huge! Well set out and suited our group with its large living spaces and equipped kitchen. We were all up there for Six Foot. And will definitely book again for future races. The host was also excellent with the communication as numbers kept on changing (runners!!). Location wise itâs about a km to the bottom of town. The downstairs bunk room was also quite good. There are no photos so we didnât know what to expect. But it was fine.
Great location for peaceful break away. Easy access to local tourist spots and main dining precinct in the area. Overall a comfortable stay but would have preferred a more supportive mattress.
The accommodation was perfect for the 11 of us. The house was big and comfortable to gather together or to have some time apart. Would definitely recommend this property, thankyou for accommodating us for a very memorable 60th birthday celebration
It was our second stay at Mountain Ash which is a perfect house for a largish family reunion/holiday. Everything is exactly as described & Lisa is very helpful & accommodating to older, bionic ladies, making beds up for us & leaving excellent instructions for those a little more technically challenged . We hope to be able to return to Mountain Ash again soon as Katoomba is in our DNA
Very comfortable, clean and cosy family home, perfect for a catch up / get together in a quite street in wonderful Katoomba. The big kitchen and dining and lounge rooms are excellent. There are five good sized bedrooms which are quiet. Everything is well stocked and maintained. We don't care that it isn't a five star international resort, this suited us perfectly with its more valuable older world Blue Mountains charm and we all loved our stay.
We had a great time staying at Lisa's house in Katoomba. It was very central to the UTA running hub that we were there for, and also an easy walk up to the main shops and cafes in Katoomba.
The house was exactly what we wanted, and the Property Manager was very helpful. The house is so quiet, as is the surrounding area. The outside patio was great to sit and listen to the birds, and just relax. Our bedrooms were lovely. I can't fault the house, and would happily stay there again.
