Peaceful retreat

Magnificent view, spacious cosy home and a rare opportunity for our extended family to spend time together whilst attending a family wedding nearby.

Completely remote getaway

Great weekend away in this well lived in place for a group of people. Rainy weekend spent by the fire. Complete isolation with only wildlife for company. If there has been rain, may need a 4WD as the dirt track can get a bit slippery.

Still my favourite place!

Yes, this is my second review on this place. I love this house and bush walks around it, the view and the sound of the birds. I also really appreciate the fact that it’s a sustainable house with solar power and rainwater. A lot of space for a big group, and thanks to Georgina and Reg for being helpful all the time.

Great country retreat, amazing views!

Perfect place for groups to get away and enjoy peace and serenity. Beautiful country house with a huge fireplace - very cosy. The views are incredible. Georgina was great with communication and the local real estate agent was very hospitable in taking us to the house and showing us around. The only thing we didn’t realise was getting to the house is a track through a couple of paddocks - which was nice, however some of our smaller cars suffered a bit getting in, so an SUV or 4WD is a good idea. Thank you for a lovely weekend :)

Good stay

Beautiful property, the house did feel a little bit lived in which I wasn’t expecting. The land lords were so lovely and had communication with us. A great place to go when you’re wanting to get away.

Our stay at halfmoon retreat was amazing. Awesome views and an untouched landscape all to ourselves.

The property is very remote yet has all the mod cons one needs to enjoy a nature/bush retreat. Large open plan living with a huge deck for evening BBQs. Host was prompt, detailed and professional, thanks Georgina, we loved halfmoon. The pictures on stayz dont do the place justice, the view off the back deck is 270 degrees of pure untouched Australian nature. Highly recommend this house, location and host

Best experience I've ever had

This house has everything you need for a relaxing break and enjoying the the nature, can't recommend it more. Definitely going back. Thanks to Georgina and Sue for the tips and letting us have such an amazing long weekend.

Perfect for our extended family get together

We initially picked out Half Moon Retreat because it was very close to family who have bought in the area. It was so much more. Our adult children loved the bush walks and the river. I loved the comfortable bed. The kitchen and dining facilities were fantastic for extended family meals. Plenty to read and lots of board games. We hope to come back again next year. Many thanks.

Simply stunning

If you want to meet up with friends or family in southern NSW, you can't beat this wonderful property. Unlike most properties, the photos don't do this property and house justice. The central living area is extremely comfortable with sweeping views. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils. There are 5 bedrooms, one with an ensuite. The deck is spacious and perfect for relaxing. There are lovely walks on the property and the bushwalking track network into the Western Budawangs (Wog Wog creek access) is nearby. We stayed there as a group of 7 bushwalkers and had a marvellous time.

Excellent property

This was the perfect place for celebrating a special birthday with 5 couples. Plenty of room, comfortable beds, and a wonderful view of the Budawangs. We had a good frost while there and also found platypus. Reg had left plenty of wood for the 2 fires so we were very cosy.

We absolutely adored Half Moon Retreat! The photos on Stayz do not do the property justice. The house is beautiful, spacious and very well kept. There were so many extras that made our stay absolutely brilliant. Hundreds of books, stacks of boardgames, kites and rafts, even a blow up pool! This property had absolutely everything. We used the rafts and took our own kayak on the river - simply fantastic! I would not have asked for a better place to stay and the manager Reg was very kind and welcoming. Thank you for a brilliant, relaxing retreat!

My family including our inlaws from the UK enjoyed our stay very much thank you. The view took our breath away as we walked into the living room and we enjoyed it for the entire weekend. The beds and pillows were comfortable and there was plenty of space for all of us. We appreciated the extensive book collection and kids DVDs, not to mention the numerous bush walks on your expansive property. We'll bring our kayak next time to enjoy your beautiful waterhole.
