We had a wonderful stay at The Stables. The only minor issue was that there was no fenced-off outdoor space outside the property and our dog had to be kept inside the whole weekend. As the property is advertised as "pet friendly" not having a space for our dog to sleep and roam outside during the day was a bit of an issue - in this regard, I think having a a fenced-off area adjacent to the front door would help. Thanks very much.
Overall, not the greatest but could have been worse.
The property had a very noticeable smell that wasnât pleasant and the couches were quite worn and nasty.
If this wasnât a concern for us we rather enjoyed our time.
We were looking for last minute pet friendly accommodation close to Vincent street shopping precinct. This quirky converted barn fitted the bill.Clean, comfy, with a cooks delight kitchen, meant eating in was our preference. The rooms were split over 3 levels, creating interest and beautifully appointed in an eclectic style, with all the mod cons and with a TV that actually works! The property however is not gated so probably not suited for a dog that likes to wander, and the steps could be challenging to anyone with mobility issues. Yet overall a wonderful place to kick back and relax in. Would definitely return.

Uncomfortable Stay
The good aspects of the house were the cleanliness, the ease of access and the communictaion. The downsides are, the garden is a shambles, the couches are extremely uncomfortable and the bed - although a king size (which is the main reason we booked the place) it's dreadfully uncomfortable, lumpy and badly needs to be replaced. They also suggest the place is pet friendly, it's not fenced so not good for dogs that need to be secure. It's way overpriced for the experience. We would not stay again.
This was an interesting rustic property, quite different and comfortable, very well located. There were however a few niggling problems. Couches were in need of repair, the bathroom lacked a shelf for toiletries, a make up mirror and a mat for at times a slippery floor, the deep sink in the kitchen required a dish mop and the stairs down to the kitchen area had no hand rail making it tricky when carrying things.
Would definitely stay here again. Central to shops but as soon as you walk inside was a tranquil oasis. Warm and cozy with all the amenities you could hope for.
Canât beat a pet-friendly abode within walking distance of the best Daylesford has to offer. The only improvement would have been a fenced off area for pooch
From the moment we arrived, we didn't want to leave. Its quirky stylish decor was super delightful and having a huge array of chilling spots all through the house ticked so many boxes for us. Being able to take our cat also made it even more appealing. We will be back :-)
We loved our stay at The Stables. Great property and great location. Spacious living yet cosy and warm. Loved the split level spaces and style which is even better than the pictures suggest. We would book over and over again.
Quirky accommodation close to the main street of Daylesford.
The carpets on the wood flooring are very slippery and extremely dangerous. There was no tissues or hand soap provided.
Nice good sized property with very comfortable bed. Great location as its walking distance to the Farmers Arms and the main street where shops are. Only loses one star as it has no outdoor sitting area but otherwise the wife, myself and the four legged furry friend really liked it.
