The dining room and kitchen areas are equally inviting and bright, with skylights and glass blocks that let the sunshine of the tropics illuminate your cooking and dining experience. The two-level villa has bedrooms on every floor and offers 4 1/2 bathrooms for your convenience. The first floor bedroom features a queen-size bed with patio doors that open to the pool area. There's also a bedroom with two double beds, which is ideal for kids or extra guests.

Wind your way up the stairs to the remaining three bedrooms, including an impressive master suite. This room boasts a king-size bed, walk-in closet, oceanfront balcony, and an attached ensuite. From here you'll even have access to a small flight of stairs that lead to the rooftop observation deck, with panoramic vistas of the palm tree-lined shoreline and vast Caribbean Sea.

There are clothing boutiques and fine jewelry stores, of course. But there's also an abundance of local artisans who sell hand-made fabrics, hammocks, clothing, artwork and more. Duty-free shops and restaurants of every kind can be found along the pedestrian promenade and every side street.

The ferry terminal is also located right on the main waterfront street, so you can hop aboard for a day trip to nearby Cancun or Playa del Carmen. If you have a little extra time, take an air-conditioned bus or cab and explore some of the remarkable Mayan ruins of Talum, Chichen Itza, Coba and others. A central location. Gentle ocean breezes.
