Very nice cabin
We stayed here just before the school holidays started in December and the resort itself was so quiet. Noone was on the golf course at all which was great as I managed to have the whole course to myself. And the course is actually in really good condition. The cabin is very spacious and it was as described in the ad. And it was clean on arrival.The kitchen is well equiped and the bbq was adequate. The decking is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the sounds of nature. One of the best points is that the resort pool is only 50m away, which is perfect. The pool is similar size to a backyard pool, and was nice with noone around. I am unsure how it would be if it is busy. Would definitely stay here again. Be prepared though, that the cabin and resort is about 4-5km from the main street in town, so plan on being self sufficient. That is what we wanted, so just make sure thats what you are happy with also. The Friendly Inn does a good feed and has a nice atmosphere.
Beautiful Cabin in a Beautiful Setting
We stayed at this beautifully decorated cabin in October and had a wonderful time. The beds were extremely comfy and the ambience very relaxing. I loved the décor and would definitely stay here again. My husband and I loved the watching the kangaroos in the morning and the late afternoon sipping a nice shiraz from the large deck overlooking the golf course. The only thing I thought that could be improved is the quality of the clubs outdoor swimming pool.
The cabin was comfortable and mostly as described. The spa was excellent as was the barbecue although there were not enough utensils to clean it properly after use. It was a little untidy around the outside of the cabin and the pot plants on the verandah definitely needed attention. Our big disappointment was with th old towels. Six of the eight provided had stains on them, a couple looked as if they had been used slightly, and one had a very big frayed hole. I was able to get some assistance from the local cotact as the owner lives elsewhere but it was not up to the standard expected. It is interesting to note that all the money is paid up front so there is not any leverage if a problem occurs. I did write specifically to the owner immediiately afterwards including photos of the towels. She has had one month to reply but I have not had any response at all. This is not very impressive and I would not rent with this owner again.
Hi Jean, I am so sorry for your experience with the towels, we are changing to a linen hire service so all the linen with be of a high standard going forward. I did not appear to get your email, I will check back though, normally I do respond quickly to feedback, I am happy you found the cabin comfortable and we will get some more utensils for the BBQ, thank you for your feedback, Regards Jenny
difficult to find in the dark
it was much smaller than expected and there were no numbers on the cabin which made it very difficult to find in the dark. the path was also very slippery in the rain
We have fixed up the path to the cabin so it is not slippery anymore, there is movement sensor lights but this may have been turned off by a guest. The cabins are not big but the majority of our guests are very happy.
Very disappointing. Avoid.
We arrived and the room had NOT been CLEANED! Dirty towels inside the beds and the floors were sticky. The owner sent someone around to vacuum and change the sheets within an hour or two, luckily. We arrived at night and immediately the old air conditioning unit blew the power. In the cold darkness, without power we rang the owner who was reluctant to assist us! In temperatures around 5'C she remarked, "can you just last the night?" The next day we had to sacrifice 4 hours of my partner's BIRTHDAY while the electrician attempted to repair the air conditioner - unsuccessfully. The cabin had a general smell of damp and was very musty - my partner and I both suffered severely with our allergies.
The owner offered to compensate us with some form of voucher - a promise which was never fulfilled. The staff on site were accommodating and helpful. The indifference shown by the owner was galling and offensive. The surrounding town was lovely as always but we will not be staying here again.
Some people just end up with all the bad luck, its true my cleaners let me down and the guests were very accommodating whilst I organised the cleaner to go there. They phoned late at night when the air conditioner was tripping the electricity. I could not get an electrician there until the morning at which time he arrived first thing and tried to get it working. Unfortunately it needed to be replaced. Hours were spent trying to get a new unit installed that day but unfortunately it was a long weekend and it could not be done. Every effort was made rectify the situation from my end. There were oil heaters in the cabin that could be used to heat the cabin. I am truly sorry for their experience.
