Mark and Shirley were excellent hosts who worked with me in getting to the location, operating a clean, well kept room making sure that we had everything that was needed to make our stay pleasant. The location was exactly what was advertised. Mark worked with us as our flight was canceled and we arrived a few days later. The bed and furniture were comfortable as well as notifications explaining where and when we could see certain areas we were interested in.I would highly recommend this to anyoneneeding a place to stay in the area. Thank You very much

A Relaxing Stay on Orr’s Island

Great location for exploring lower mid-coast Maine. Restaurants, the Maine Botanical Gardens, Boothbay and Reid State Park are all within easy reach. Comfortable efficiency apartment and nice hosts, we’d go back again!

Wonderful stay and beautiful location. Only advice would be to bring bottled water for drinking as the well water has a strong smell. Great hosts and clean space.

Great little spot

My partner and I and our two dogs just got home from a week at Sheacliff. Even though we had some rain, the area is absolutely beautiful and so quiet and relaxing. We got so many great recommendations from the host. Our pups loved swimming in the water at low tide and walking around the numerous nearby hiking trails !

Beautiful little spot

Orrs Island is a beautiful little spot for a vacation. We went to Wolf Neck state park in Freeport for walking trails near the coastline and saw 2 fledgling Osprey on the wing. Shopping at LL Beans. Lunch at Cooks and all Gluten free at Sundrenched restaurant.

Room was almost spotless, though previous guests are supposed to leave cooking utensils, crockery and glassware clean. I found that I needed to rewash those. Everything else was great - bed and bath linens were generous and spotless. Family is caring for an elder at home and some outdoor areas were a bit neglected, but the warmth of the welcome and host’s almost constant availability to be of help with questions more than made up for slight defects visually. Host allowed me to pick a vase of lovely flowers from the garden, helped me get my suitcase and icebox up the entry stairs. (I am 86.) I felt the price was very reasonable for a pleasant week in a safe location convenient to beautiful walks, many attractions, and good restaurants. The view and quiet location were ideal for me. More than two people would be stretching the one room arrangement. Connectivity varied for my cell and tablet, and the landline was shared. But one could find spots/times where everything worked. For those with white hair, mine acquired a slight bronze/green from showering with water that must contain iron. I would use this rental again.

We had an unforgettable stay at this beautiful oceanfront property! The view was truly breathtaking—waking up to the sound of the waves and sipping coffee while overlooking the ocean was pure magic. The home was spotless, well-appointed, and exactly as described.The location was ideal: peaceful, scenic, and just the kind of relaxing atmosphere we were hoping for. A special shoutout to the owner, who was incredibly responsive and helpful from start to finish. You can tell they genuinely care about their guests' experience.We would return in a heartbeat and highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a serene coastal escape. Five stars all around!

Rest and relaxation

Our stay was great. The space was exactly what it stated in the description. The only issue we had was with the water as it smelled horrible like eggs. We bought water to drink and cook with and our showers were very short using boiled water and sometimes we sucked it up and showered with smelly water. The owners were receptive and apologetic and gave us a partial refund. They were very nice. Location of the place was great. it was peace and other than the smelly water we truly enjoyed our stay.

Convenient island location.

Over all we were impressed with this rental. Location of this property was convenient to great seafood, a charming local beach and the amenities of nearby Brunswick and Freeport. The unit was very well equipped and quiet. The drawback was the foul smell of the undrinkable water...strong sulfur dioxide smell. Drinking water was supplied but previous to our stay no mention was made of the status of the water and there was no attempt to alert us to this when we arrived.

Sulphuric water

The room and location were lovely but the well water was saturated with sulphuric and impossible to leave the tap on or drink. We weren’t worried for our safety but it was foul to live with that smell. We should have had the option to leave with money refunded I think. With fees the amount was twice the nightly fee.

Was just okay, but the island made it worth it!

The listing & photos were confusing. The photos make it look like there’s a bedroom. The listing says there are 2 futons, but no bed. In reality there is a Queen sized bed & a pull out couch. The listing stated there is a hot tub. Which honestly was one of the reasons we booked, there was no hot tub. If you have Verizon there is barely any cell service on the whole island & the wifi at the apartment was horrible. We honestly wouldn’t have minded so much but we were having problems with our flights. So to even make a call or get on the internet we had to drive 20 min away. If you are sensitive to smoke, this might not be the place for you. To get to the apartment you walk through the garage, it smells like someone smokes in there. The checkout process was also kind of confusing. The binder they provided had instructions for a completely different place & nothing in it applied to the apartment. The hosts were very nice & very responsive to messages which was wonderful. All in all, not a bad place but for the cost we wouldn’t book again.

Relaxing!

Our stay here on Orrs Island was so relaxing. Mark made sure everything we wanted was taken care of. The yard and neighborhood were great for enjoying the weather. Our dog really enjoyed the walk down to the ocean. This location is convenient to see Maine and surrounding area. Was just what we needed for a getaway! Thank you Mark!

Second time

The property has everything you need. Not right on the water, but has a very nice patio with a lovely view. The added taxes and various fees are making another visit unlikely inspite of the reasonable base price of the unit. Also, if a cleaning fee is included, should a guest be asked to empty trash, strip the bed,etc??

Refreshing, relaxing and bonus lemons 🍋

My fiancé and I stayed at this wonderful location for a two week vacation during the summer (July- August). First, the hosts, Mark, Kevin and Shirley are wonderful. They are generous with their time, detailed with their explanations of what the island's have to offer, and Mark even saved the day for me and brought me lemons I needed for the dinner that I was making on the day I propsed to my fiancé. The area is beautiful, lovingly manicured, and the view of the cove from the picnic table outside is stunning. It's nice to be off of the main road and nestled in such a cozy, quiet space. The property is an above-garage guest suite with an open floor plan and one full bathroom with plenty of space. It was very clean and well maintained. The kitchen was equipped well enough to cook meals, which we did several times. The place also has a window AC unit, which is a boon when it's hot outside. This place is absolutely lovely for a single or a couple, I highly recommend staying here and look forward to a return visit!

Mother Daughter get away

We had a wonderful time on the ORR’s Island. The property is on a quiet street off the main road. It was peaceful and the views are lovely. It was the perfect size for my daughter and I. We had everything we needed and the host were just a phone call away.
