The house was immaculate inside and out. All the rooms were clean and tidy. The snacks left by the host was a nice welcome gift. The place was central to all our activities and the added early morning and late evening visits by deer was an added bonus. We will definitely want to visit this house in the near future.

The cottage was very clean and there were many amenities. There were lots of deer, hummingbirds and some foxes right off the back porch. The deer came up to be fed all the time and it is very cool to watch them. Lynn and Jerry were great hosts and I would recommend this cottage to everyone. We plan on coming back around October time frame and rent it again.

Here’s a heartfelt review you could post:We absolutely loved our stay here! From the moment we arrived, it felt like the perfect getaway. The property was spotless, beautifully maintained, and had everything we needed to feel right at home.The views were incredible and easily one of our favorite parts of the trip. Every morning and evening we found ourselves just sitting outside, taking it all in. Seeing the deer come right up to the fence was such a peaceful and memorable experience—it really made the stay feel special and gave us a true Hill Country experience.The home was comfortable, well-equipped, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed. It was clear the owners put a lot of care into making sure guests have a wonderful experience.If you’re looking for a relaxing place to unwind while still being close to everything Fredericksburg has to offer, this is it. Our trip was great and so much fun! It began with checking into our Cottage and it certainly did not disappoint. Everything was just as it had been described and much much more! Lynn and Jerry have truly built a little piece of Heaven and made sure it was just like home. You really don't have to worry if you forgot to bring something with you because they have thought of almost everything!!! One of the highlights of our visit was watching and feeding the deer in the mornings and evenings! It was so peaceful and quiet sitting on the porch listening to the birds talk to each other and watching the hummingbirds 'jockey' for a place at the feeder. Our little rescue dog Sally enjoyed our walks and watching the squirrels in the trees as well as the deer of course.The little bit that we have shared is only the tip of the iceberg because there are so many special surprises at the Cottage. We would share more but they wouldn't be surprises would they?!!! Our thanks to Lynn and Jerry for a wonderful visit and we will certainly be returning!

We love the serene back porch and daily visits from the whitetail deer and birds of many kinds! Meanwhile, it’s a short drive (6 minutes tops) to the food and shopping that make Fredericksburg the fun place it is. The hosts create a special atmosphere with seasonal decor, spotless kitchen and snacks and tons of information about the area. We love the Cottage on Spotted Fawn!
The deer come in ar dawn and dusk to enjoy corn that’s provided by the hosts. Peaceful entertainment!

Located next to a working ranch the cottage offers privacy and views of grazing deer and numerous types of birds. We spent warm evenings on the patio, cooler evenings in front of the cozy fireplace. We couldnt have be happier with our stay here! It was cozy, clean, and location was amazing. Close to Main street but felt like we were way out in the country. Deer and birds were a lovely bonus!Jerry offered us a parking spot in his garage when hail was a probability. That was very much appreciated! Thank you for a wonderful experience Lynn and Jerry!

A love of history compelled the owners to purchase this historic German homestead in 2007. Both owners were originally from the Panhandle of Texas, and both were lovers of antiques, so property called out to them for a full restoration, and the final step in that process was the construction of this beautiful and comfortable guest house on a private corner of the property.

Escape from your every day stresses & demands to a quiet, comfortable and luxurious Cottage with views, wildlife, and its own unique history to recharge & refresh your outlook on life! The man who built the German limestone home on this property, Jacob Neffendorf, was one of the original surveyors of the Fredericksburg townsite. Later, he returned as on of the first 120 settlers who founded Fredericksburg in May 1846. This property is on Outlot 319, as designated by the German Immigration Society, and the new owners were able to secure a Texas Historic Marker for the property in May 2012. A full copy of the research for the Marker, with photos and maps, is available for guests to enjoy in the Cottage - old world charm and history meet modern amenities and luxury on a historic German farmstead! Your visit is "contactless", and includes meal coupons!

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

The property contains many original components of the German farmstead - the rock-lined, hand-dug well always has water, the three-legged Aeromotor windmill is in its original location near the Cottage, a Roos block tank house with a rock tank on top supplied the two-story rock homestead with water beginning in the 1920s. The original rock lined cellar and smokehouse are on the property, too. All these unique and historic features can be enjoyed by Cottage guests, along with their spacious, luxurious quarters and their private views of the 1,500 acre ranch behind the homestead.
