Villa Melanesia is a terrific holiday home offering a prime location in the Gale area with stunning sea views, just a 5-minute walk from the best golden sandy beaches. Within walking distance of excellent restaurants, bars and shops, this spacious property is ideal for families looking for a relaxing, car-free holiday.

The villa has air-conditioning in all units and 4 bedrooms: 2 bedrooms on the first floor (1 double and 1 twin), both with en-suite bathrooms and access to a charming terrace with a spectacular sea view; 1 double bedroom on the ground floor (with an en-suite bathroom), as well as an additional guest W.C and 1 twin bedroom on the lower floor with an adjacent shower room. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the appliances necessary for home cooking, as well as a dining table. The living / dining room is spacious with large windows and fantastic views over the pool area and to the sea beyond.

Outside, the property boasts a wonderful terrace where you can enjoy meals al-fresco, prepared on the traditional Algarvean BBQ. The private swimming pool (heatable as an optional extra) invites you to take refreshing dives, soak up the summer sun on the sun-loungers or enjoy a game of snooker or ping-pong.

Ideally located in the beach town of Galé, villa Melanesia is only a short walk away from a wide range of renowned restaurants, some of the Algarve's most beautiful sandy beaches where you can enjoy water sports activities, and only a short drive away from an excellent golf course (Salgados Golf Course).

Albufeira, with its colourful marina, charming old town along Pescadores beach and the Strip Albufeira, with quality restaurants, pubs, shops and sparkling nightlife, is also located within a 10-minute drive.

Great for families

Really good communication with agency from the start of booking and all throughout our stay. The villa is exactly as advertised and in a good location to supermarkets, restaurants and the beach. Staff were really friendly and very responsive we we had a couple of.issues. We had a lovely holiday here.

Decent villa

Very strict ID and checking timings,... balanced by very casual approach to WC hygiene process and disposal. Pool was missing tiles and had cracks on the steps and bottom. Cleaners still there at check-in, they were also an hour early on checkout day.

Beautiful house. So close to multiple beaches within walking distance. House was very spacious and had a great living area. The staff were always super fast at responding to any questions I had.

Very nice , we paid to heat the pool but was still cold , told we needed to wait for a couple of days for it heat but paid from the first day. Pool needed cleaning mid way through holiday. We lost a day and half waiting for it to be. done. Over all though spacious , clean in a lovely area.

The location was fantastic within walking distance of the beach, restaurants and shops. The local area is so peaceful and the pool heated was perfect! The seating areas outside were amazing and we used the barbeque one evening. Many happy memories

Great experience in this Villa

Stayed at villa Melanesia with my family and had a great relaxing week. The property is great, well maintained, the location was great too, just far away enough from Albufeira to be quiet but just close enough to be able to walk to the beach and local restaurants. Olivia and the local reps were 5* and the property met all our expectations.

Great villa

Villa was amazing, loads of space for 7 people. Pool is a good size and worth paying for the heating in April. Walking distance to the beach and a few bars and restaurants. Local supermarket very expensive, worth a longer walk to Aldi or spa. If unable to get an early check in, it’s worth looking at Scooby’s bar/pool. Will provide entertainment for the day aswell as having a luggage storage area. About. 20 minute walk from the villa.

Lovely property,good size bedrooms and en suites. The lower floor bedroom was bit dark with only two small windows but fine for children. Pool are and surrounds well maintained.

Family birthday holiday by the beach

The villa was perfect. As a big family holiday for my birthday i wanted everyone to be comfortable and with the 4 ensuites and great living space this was spot on. The pool was a great size and we loved playing pool by the pool. Fabulous breakfast cafe by the supermarket. Lovely restaurant on the nearest beach 5 minutes walk away. Could not fault the location. You don't need a car and if going further ubers are great.

Nice villa not far from beach

The property was as described and very clean. Convenient for the beach about 400 metres away down a track. A quiet area at the beginning of November. It would be nice if Algarve Vacation would simplify there booking and payment sructure/ procedure. It can be very confusing.

Holiday of a life time

The Villa was fantastic. There were 10 of us and at no time did we feel on top of each other. The rooms were spacious a nd spotlessly clean., with lots of space for clothes etc. There is a well.equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine and iron. Out side There is a fabulous pool which was cleaned during our stay. There is a lovely terrace with tables and chairs. here was a bbq which we put to good use. Thank you so much Olivia and her team for the wonderful stay at this stunning villa in the loveliest location. See you next year!!

Fabulous Relaxing Holydays

Nive Villa. Near Lourenco Beach, located in a quiet area, perfect to rest and relaxation. What could we ask for more. It was refreshing to breathe the morning breeze coming from the sea, that is close of the house and to listen to the waves on the beach, is priceless. At the end of our vacation, no one wanted to go back to the routine of our lives. A special thank you to the local representatives team who were superb. Thank you very much for organizing the tour on one of your boats. Again, the experience could not be better. We loved seeing the dolphins at sea, despite the early morning cold wind, but ... December is December. We will return to Villa Melanesia in the end of next summer.

Appreciate the pool heating was not working but communication was poor., and it took them four days to work this out....constantly calling and then waiting in for workmen , waiting three days for it to be cleaned. It was dirty and day five when we started to relax and thought we might try the freezing pool, poolman came cleaned it again and filled it up with more freezing water!! Stood in chewing gum around pool area and to cap it all found and killed a couple of cockroaches in bedroom..... ☹️

Not so amazing-poor support

Wi-FI does not work on the second floor. Poor check-in process. Got the instruction for the key pad code 1 hour late. We were charged for some towels which had already some of the spots that were reported by manager. Make sure you take pictures of all towels and linens because you run the chance that you will be charged for replacements like we were. We never thought of reporting the stain spots thinking that it looked like normal wear and tear which generally refers to the expected deterioration of a rental unit as a result of the tenant's everyday use. This can include things like loose doorknobs, worn out carpet, towels, and minor scratches on the walls and floors. Also, I should had taken pictures of the water quality of the pool which was poor and had many green algae spots. This was reported to Steve on our arrival. Maintenance showed up a few days after our arrival to clean it and added some chemicals. The pool was not the greatest when we left. Furthermore, the fire detector started beeping during our first night in the villa. The battery had to be taken out at 2AM in the morning. We reported the issue by e-mail and was told that someone would come to replace the battery which was never done for our entire stay. I feel that the charge for the towels is very close to a scam. Some of the spots shown on the pictures(towels) were already there. honestly, they look like the normal wear and tear which generally refers to the expected deterioration of a rental unit.

Nicht perfekt, aber wir haben uns wohlgefühlt

Schöne Villa in toller Lage, schon etwas älter aber sehr sauber, Duschen großteils noch mit Plastikvorhang, eine defekte Duschwanne, extrem feste Matratzen, Sofa durchgesessen, Töpfe, Pfannen und Kochwerkzeug gerade so ausreichend, auch kleinere technische Mängel, aber ein tolles Haus nah an einem schönen, etwas felsigen Strand. Die Betreuung durch die Agentur war gut. Wir haben uns wohlgefühlt.

De belle vacances en famille

Nous étions 10: grand parents, parents et petits enfants et la maison est assez grande pour ne pas se marcher dessus. Les extérieurs sont très agréables et le coucher de soleil sur la plage où sur le balcon est fantastique !!!! Le seul petit bémol est le manque d'eau chaude pour les douches. L'installation de mousseur et peut être 1 plus gros cumulus.

Family vacation in Portugal

The home was lovely, spacious and offered plenty of entertainment. The Management Company was very prompt and was an excellent resource to help navigate tours, travel and restaurants. The one area to tighten up is directions to the house - two separate UBER drivers had extreme difficulty in finding the house, so plan accordingly.

Villa was lovely - check in was not ideal.

Villa had more than enough to keep us all entertained and it certainly helped with the great weather. Although the security deposit for a group of friends is a bit steep and there was an absence of a proper walk around (still awaiting communication regarding security deposit refund), we really enjoyed our stay. Karen was really helpful and her suggestions of activities were really good, including water park and fish restaurant. We were not happy about check in, although it states 4pm - we put our bags on the property and it was already cleaned and ready to be moved in, we kept checking in with the 24 hr line, but kept being told to call later and they don’t have the information. It would have been nice to check and allow us to move in early if it was ready, since we pay for that day. Also we were told the pool would be checked, but this was not done and the towels were also not changed halfway through our stay as mentioned by staff. Fortunately our stay was only a week, if this didn’t happen during a 7+ day stay, this would have been a bigger issue. The pool, table tennis table and pool table were good additions. A table next to the outside bbq would be a welcomed addition. I would like to say a huge thanks to Karen and Olivia for assistance, especially Karen who sorted issues with internet and outside lights as soon as she was aware.

Holiday review

Had to cancel twice because of COVID but was well worth the wait the villa was perfect for our party, my grandchildren loved the pool which was set at a good temperature. The location was ideal close to other beaches and places along the coast. Would like to say that Olivia I was communicating with regarding all the arrangements was very helpful all the way making the holiday one to remember
