Had a much needed getaway. Cabin was very clean and accommodating! Clint made us feel like we were at home. Such a peaceful experience! Would definitely visit again!
This is a great place to stay very beautiful cabin nice quiet property very nice and friendly owners would recommend this place 10/10 we will be booking this place agin great couples getaway we sure didnât want to leave agin 10/10 lovey place and great owners
We enjoyed our stay at Tall Pines. The wife and I wanted a quiet getaway from the kids and this fit the bill perfectly.
There were a few negatives, so I will list those first. The shower is rather small, and we were unable to keep water from running out onto the floor. The entry to the property is a small drop off from the road which isnât a problem in a larger vehicle but if you have a smaller car like we did do you need to go extremely slow so that you donât scrape. The mattress in the upstairs loft is not very comfortable. It is an old spring mattress that could probably stand replacing.
The positives definitely outweigh the negatives though. The downstairs mattress was great! The kitchen was well stocked with cups and plates and bowls and utensils. The hot tub was very nice and the privacy fence built all the way around it made it a very private area for my wife and I to enjoy wine in the hot tub. There was a very very nice restaurant three minutes away called PJâs white river resort. We werenât fully able to take advantage of all of the surrounding activities, but the caverns nearby and all of the hiking around the area looked great. We plan to check that out next time .
Overall, we enjoyed the property. Fair price, clean, private, with plenty around the area to do.
I almost hate to give a review for this place because I am so in love with it that I hate for others to find it as well. But this place is amazing. Itâs the second time we have stayed and itâs that perfect place to get away from the world and just be. The owner is amazing and sends emails to check on your stay and if you need anything. But other than that, you are pretty much off the grid. We will definitely be making this an annual thing.
Bathroom had a smell that wouldn't leave, shower is super small even for a regular size person
The interior needs a MAJOR facelift. Looks like someone bought cheap garage sale items & decorated house. Found 2 long hairs on bed sheets, bathroom had a smell that wouldn't leave & shower is SUPER small. Property manager was great with checking on us & giving us all info we needed. AC units didn't work very well at all either. Wouldn't come back.
This is a cute cabin. If you're looking for frills it isn't here. Not the cleanest but not the worst I've ever seen. We would stay here again. It's not far from the river and less than 20 minutes to the fish hatchery , Dry Creek and the tail waters.
The location was fantastic and right around the corner from the water. The cabin is cute and has a loft upstairs (we didn't utilize the space). My husband and I decided to take a mini-vacation for our anniversary. On our firsts night, we noticed the carpet in the bathroom was wet, and so we immediately sent a message (through VRBO) to the property manager. I would have called (they gave us their number), but we did not have cell reception. We took advantage of the wifi and messaged that way:). They responded within minutes.
My only complaint about our stay was the cleanliness of the cabin. There was plenty of linen, and the towels were freshly cleaned. However, the extra blankets smelled of mildew. The only reason we used them was to put down on the couch and chairs (in the living room) because it does not look like they have ever been cleaned. Stains and spots were visible. While sitting in the chair in the living room and you reach over to turn on the light, you notice that the inside of the lampshades are dirty. Also, the countertop in the kitchen next to the stove had grease on it, and the fridge was dirty inside and out.
When I turned down the bed, I had to brush stuff (things off the trees may have blown in if they had the slider open while cleaning) off of the bed. We ended up changing the sheets.
The couch is old (you sink in and feel springs) and needs to be replaced. The porch where the hot tub is does not have a light. When you go out, you have to use the light from the bedroom, and that is not sufficient. A light should be installed out there for safety reasons.
Just a side note, we did have to fight wasps from inside the cabin. As soon as I arrived and walked in, there were about 15 wasps in the cabin. I thought they might have come in when I was unloading the car. However, The next day when it warmed up again, we noticed there were more, and they were coming in from between the slats of logs in the cabin. It is a cabin, so we chalked it up to "nature."
When you walk into the cabin, it is nice, and you get a feel for "cabin life" I think it just needs to have a few things replaced and updated so that it makes it a little more comfortable.
We appreciate the move into the larger cabin due to the weather. Hot tub in smaller cabin needs work. Relief valve on hot water heater in smaller cabin is in direct walkway and should be relocated. Great hosts. Very responsible and accommodating.
Had a nice stay in this rustic cabin. Great size for 2 fishermen. The hot tub was great after a day on the water and the stars were outstanding. Beds were comfortable and everything functioned. Had a fire outside each night. Cabin is a bit of a ride about 30 minutes from mountain home but other eateries are closer. The caretaker was responsive to our request for hangers and got us a bunch the next day and like almost everyone we met in the area was an warm friendly helpful person.
Definitely coming back. Making reservations was simple and easy!! Communication with Ed was phenomenal! They asked everyday if we needed anything. They took wonderful care of us and this cabin! Introduced us to guided your. The cabin was clean, smelled wonderful and the hot tub was hot and ready to go!! We will be coming back.to this cabin soon!!!
Kathey & I purchased the Tall Pines Cabins in 2020 and renamed it The Escape at Tall Pines. We named it that to reflect how we have always felt about it, an escape from the grind. A great friend of mine introduced me to this place a long time ago. The two of us used to come up to his uncles house in Calico Rock when he got his drivers license. In our early twenties we started tent camping in Cotter with our wives. A few years later we graduated to a camper. He and his wife discovered this Red's Landing area and invited Kathey and I to come stay. I think we have stayed at every VRBO or rental on this road. We fell in love with this place. They later bought and built right down the road from here. While staying with them one weekend, our buddy Ed that took care of this place notified us that the owner might be wanting to sell. We made a phone call and after several antagonizing nights wondering if we could just leave the city, we decided that this was our new home. I love the people that our setting draws in, and listening to them being as excited as I was about catching fish, the shore lunch, and how damn cold the water was. It is great helping people make the memories that will last them til the next time and keep them coming back.
When Debra, the lady that helped us change our life, first purchased this place it was a vacant piece of ground with an old run down mobile home on it. Together with her two girls they built these buildings with their own hands. We are slowly doing modifications and adding small things here and there to hopefully make it the place you will want to revisit time after time.
After many, many trips and many, many trout caught with so many friends and family buying this place just seemed like I was getting it for my family. Between our local fishing guides and nearby trout docks you can book one of the most fun and lucrative fishing experiences you'll ever remember. Follow that up with dinner at one of our nearby 5 star restaurants or by grilling your own perfect steak on the deck. Finish it up with a dip in the hot tub and a great nights sleep. One of the best parts - if you can book with one of our local guides you are shuttled to the river and back home. NO DRIVING involved. Reds Landing is the best. We love it here.
We are not just property managers that want to get you in and out. Our three cabins are our home. My mother and aunts and uncles stay here. My brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews stay here. Most of our guests that stay here come back multiple times to stay. We can leave you alone or we can get to know you. We have some guests that want their privacy and they come and go with no contact and we are ok with that. Others want recommendations and to hear local stories and we are ok with that, too. It surprises me, but we have several guests that will come to stay and visit Branson, MO and other place that are 2+ hours away and just want to come back to the nature and quiet and the slowness of our area. Everything you need is furnished except what you eat; there is even a washer and dryer for longer stays
