Wonderful place to stay. LM and GM are great hosts. Place was immaculate and sitting out at night looking at the oyster bars is an amazing experience. Choko is one of the last real Florida experiences left and this property exemplifies it. Thanks again!
We enjoyed our stay so much. My family loved fishing, Python hunting and being outside - the yellow house is set in a beautiful location with a water view out of every window. It is peaceful, lovely and so much fun.
We were so pleased that we already booked another get away. It is a lovely, peaceful place surrounded by water and wild life. Captain Cory gave us an adventure that we will be talking about for a long time.
The perfect place to get away . The water front was awesome.
Everyday was relaxing
Very comfortable place to stay for a quiet getaway
We will definitely be back .
Lynn and Gary are two of the nicest people.
Thank you so much for sharing your great home
Really great cottage on stilts by the waterfront. 2 bedrooms and fully stocked kitchen with coffee maker, pots/pans. Very quiet. The owners are lovely and helpful, really enjoyed talking with them.
This charming cottage was not only a memory maker for us and our two teen grandsons, it reminded us of our childhood days gone by. The boys caught mangrove snapper, catfish and snook from the bank. The view is great, the hot water endless and the beds were comfortable. The hostess was friendly and ready to assist as needed.
I really liked this spot. Perfect views of the bay, sunrise and sunsets. Very relaxing. Being able to dock my boat 25 steps from the backdoor was awesome. If you like fishing the backcountry of the 10000 islands there is no better place I think you will find, and you can take your puppy too.... THANKS
We enjoyed our stay- the house was very clean and had a nice big kitchen with lots of supplies for cooking and food storage. We don't fish but it would be perfect for fishermen or someone with a boat because of the boat ramp. We used it as a base for exploring the nearby parks and went on a couple of tours in the area. Enjoyed drinking coffee on the porch and watching the water, what a view! I was thrilled we saw dolphins twice but we had an even better dolphin experience during our boat tour with Cory at Smallwood General Store. Bring drinking water and bug spray!
These old Tampa kids had a wonderful 4 day weekend at Lynn's Chokoloskee home. It was the perfect home base to explore the 10,000 Islands and Everglades. Lynn's husband Gary was so kind to help us establish a gps track to safely navigate our way through the mangrove islands and oyster bars to some nice fishing spots. Fishing was spotty inshore (poor weather) but fun none the less. Fishing right off the seawall behind the house we landed a slot snook and a baby goliath grouper!! Sunsets and sunrises from the back porch, who could ask for more?! It was a real pleasure and insight to speak with Lynn and Gary and some of the rest of their family about the town and their family's history in Chokoloskee. Thanks again Lynn, we will be back!!
Located right on the water with a dock. House is on stilts (hurricane-worthy), and a 1-flight stairway is climbed for entrance. House felt freshly renovated and offered an abundance of space for 3 adults. Very clean and tastefully decorated.
Located in an authentic, quiet community of multi-generation islanders. Feels far away from resorts. Easy to find restaurants with seafood, but don't expect to dine late.
We almost missed out on an extraordinary experience - the owners offer boat rides that are a great introduction to extensive mangrove islands. During our early January visit, we took a "Sunset Cruise" that gave close-up encounters with dolphins, hundreds of white pelicans, and densely occupied rookery of big birds flocking for the night. Fantastic!
Convenient drive to National Park entrances at Everglade City (with a boat concession to tour the saltwater area of mangroves) and Shark Valley (where we greatly enjoyed a tram ride across the fresh-water "river of grass" with an informative guide to see lots of gators & big birds up close).
This really is a fishermans' (or a nature lovers') dream.
Lynns' house is in the absolute best location to access the Everglades National Park. The boat ramp is next to the house and there is ample dockage for a boat. The house is on the southern tip of the island and has beautiful water views from the porch and windows. The house is very nicely decorated inside and has an excellent kitchen with all utensils and cookware. It is well equipped. The beds are very comfortable and we slept well here. The internet service is good. Lynn and her family have lived here for generations and have a comprehensive knowledge of the local ecosystem. They run an eco-tour business and their trips are a must-do if you are visiting here. The fishing access to the ENP and Ten Thousand Islands is very good from the house.
We saw amazing wildlife in the Park during our trip. The birding was very good. We saw dolphins playing and feeding, sea turtles, alligators and manatees many times while also catching fish! A dolphin pod uses the bay immediately in front of the house as a sheltered area for breeding and giving birth to their young. We saw what was probably this years baby when we arrived in February.
My wife and I (and some friends) all enjoyed our stay here. Lynn is a wonderful host and is very welcoming and helpful.
Lynn's home was absolutely beautiful. Incredibly clean, quiet & comfortable. Honestly, the house was immaculately clean! We watched dolphins out front everyday and even had a manatee pop up one evening.
The home was stocked with everything we needed.
We were in town for a tradeshow & work. But coming back to this property each night was so relaxing.
We enjoyed dinners on the deck and had a fire in the waterside fire pit a few nights. (The mosquitoes didn't get bad until after dark!)
We will definitely book this again!
Weâd stay here again. The place is clean, kitchen had everything we needed. The view from the porch is awesome, even saw dolphins & eagle rays. We were so busy otherwise that we didnât get the chance to use the kayaks or bikes located in the basement area.
Just a wonderful stay and the location, views, and home were perfect. It was so peaceful and relaxing. We have a boat and were able to launch right from the homes property and also docked there so it was so easy and convenient for fishing. Highly recommend.
We live nearby and have lived on this Island for generations. We have the deepest water access on the Island and one of the prettiest views of Chokoloskee Bay. This is an older home but has been well maintained and updated. It is your typical "Florida Cracker" home.
Private Fisherman's paradise, launch your boat, kayak and canoe to explore the creeks and rivers. Location is the best in the Everglades for water activities of any kind.
