Large apartment close to the main train station, but with problems
We were quite disappointed by our stay. On arrival, we found that the apartment floor had not been cleaned. There was a vacuum cleaner, so I cleaned it, which made it slightly better. The two beds were made up, but only with a single sheet covering each one. We found extra bedding, and had to use 3 sheets to completely cover the extra large double bed. This had a strut dislodged in the centre, so we rolled into the middle of the bed. The bathroom was fine, but would have benefited from a bathmat, as the shower screen was not large enough to prevent water from covering the the bathroom floor. The kitchen utensils provided were poor. We had 1 wine glass, a couple of mugs, no corkscrew or bottle opener and one teaspoon. Added to which a fair amount of the crockery was dirty. There was a small milk pan, frying pan and another small pan, but nothing big enough to cook pasta for 2 in. Also the coffee machine had a very mouldy filter paper left in it. We obviously complained to P&O apartments (owners) and to give them their due, they did come and do a more thorough clean, and provided us with some more crockery and another larger frying pan. They also provided a double sheet which meant that we only needed two sheets to cover the bed! There is also a new high rise tower block being built at the back of the property and workers seem to start at sunrise...Despite these defects, the apartment is only a 5 minute walk from the central train station and transport hub.
