The place and location, superb! House had everything you could need for a great vacation. Tom, our host, was so helpful and very responsive when I reached out. Made us feel like family.
This is a fabulous house so close to the beach and with beautiful views and sunsets! Amazing 2nd floor deck! The house was in excellent condition and had everything we could need for our 3 week stay. Since it was just 2 of us we lived upstairs the entire time.
Tom responded instantly whenever we had a question which we really appreciated. Our one complaint was that the bathrooms could use updating.
We wanted to thank Tom for renting his home to us in August 2024. Not only was it a beautiful week but the location was perfect. The house was equipped with all amenities for cooking and activities for the beach. The views were spectacular and just a short distance walk to the beach which was another plus because it wasnât crowded at all. My family and I would definitely recommend a week in Longport at Tomâs beach house. Tom was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Thank you again!
This property is fabulous! House has unique location of being one block from the beach while also having an unobstructed view of the bay on the opposite side. Bedrooms on the bottom floor were comfortable and our family of 5 was also able to have a few guests stay over with the additional bedroom and bathroom on the second floor. House was well stocked with essentials and there were even plenty of beach chairs and beach items like boogie boards, toys, and even 3 bikes. There is also an outdoor shower! The best part of the property is the wrap-around porch on the second level. Chairs are provided outside and it was an absolute dream watching the magnificent sunsets night after night. Tom was very accommodating and attentive. Overall, great host, great property, and we are already planning our trip back!
We enjoyed our stay very much. Great location and the house had everything we needed, including beach chairs, umbrella, beach games, etc. The owner was very responsive. Overall, a very good experience.
My Mother has been going to Longport since the 1940s and doesnât want to go anywhere else. Mr Murphy offers one of the only rentals in town and itâs a great location.
Five star view of the inlet at the tip of Longport! The deck was so relaxing with fabulous breezes and the boats and sunsets were great entertainment. The beach was a very short walk and there werenât many people, which was a plus. Longport and the surrounding area is quiet and more of a resident town without a lot of renters, which was perfect for us. Living space on the second floor was comfy and ample. The dining room table accommodated a jigsaw puzzle (a shore tradition) and more! We got addicted to Netflix in the evenings. Owner was super responsive!
This fully equipped property met our every need - with generous indoor and outdoor space, easy access to the beach, and spectacular sunset views over the bay - the perfect beach house!
Quiet shore home with sunset view from common space
This house was wonderful! One block from a quiet life guarded beach with fun waves for my teens. The second floor common space has a great view of the water. Nightly sunsets from the porch were the best. We were allowed to bring our dog and the quiet well appointed neighborhoods of Longport were a great place for walking him. There is a bike path (along the road) right outside the front door which we used frequently. We had everything we needed in the house including the little things, toilet paper, garbage bags, dishwashing liquid, condiments, a Keurig, ice maker, chairs for the beach. Thereâs a great outdoor shower for which a line would form after the beach. Itâs quiet but close to OC if your kids need a run to a boardwalk! Tom was very responsive to our needs - AC was not working first night and he came right over to help us out! I would absolutely come again! We loved it!
Thomas was extremely kind in accommodating an early checkin as my family was set to arrive to town around noon that day though checkin time is normally 4p....I imagine his ability to do this depends on whether the previous night was occupied but it was nice to get in early in either case. Layout of the house: the main living area, living room, big tv, kitchen are all upstairs along with one bedroom and one bathroom not attached to the bedroom. The downstairs consists of 3 bedrooms, including the master, with 2 bathrooms, one of which is attached to the master. Thereâs is a nice wrap around deck upstairs with chairs, you get nice views of the sunset over the bay. Itâs a 1 block walk to the beach on a seldom trafficked road as the house is on the end of a Penninsula. The area is very peaceful, quiet, nice, very friendly people. The house was stocked with random assortments of snacks, condiments, spices, liquor, possibly things that accumulate as guests leave things they donât use which was very convenient. The house also has all sorts of beach supplies, multiple surf boards, one paddle board, one small bicycle, tons of beach chairs and an outdoor shower. Overall it was just what I expected, a well-maintained, nice house close to the beach in a quiet, relaxing environment, great for a long weekend or weeks stay. No complaints whatsoever.
We had a great time during our stay in Longport. It was a great choice for our family gathering. The property is well kept and in a great location with easy access to the ocean side beach and spectacular views of the bay. We enjoyed the sunsets in the evening. It's unique location at the tip of the peninsula adds considerable appeal. The property is in a quiet residential area which was perfect for us. When the grandchildren wanted to see the boardwalk, it was simply a short car ride away. The owner's art work adds a personal touch to the home. This was the first trip to the ocean for our youngest grandchild and a memorable trip for each of us.
Most certainly, this home is located in the most perfect location with sweeping views of the water and only a block to the beach. It was the most perfect stay with everything a family needs. Beach chairs and a basket hoop made our stay so easy and enjoyable. The house itself is rich with beach charm, and warm happy energy. As someone who grew up every Summer in Longport, I can truly say that this rental is both beautiful and very special. The owner was amazing to work with, and I look forward to renting again next year. There is nothing I would change about anything, it's the best home ever.
Fantastic views, quiet beach, easy drive to OC boardwalk
We had a wonderful stay at 1100 Atlantic Ave June 9-16. The best part was the location -- we couldn't imagine a better spot, with gorgeous sweeping views of the bay and only one block to the beach. The island is only one block wide at the end; it was so quiet and peaceful it almost felt like our private beach during the weekdays. I'd worried about noise from cars turning around at the point but it wasn't an issue at all. Longport is an easy drive to Margate (Lucy the elephant, restaurants), Ocean City (restaurants, boardwalk, rides), and Somers Point (restaurants). We loved being close to those towns but having the quiet of Longport.
As for the property itself, it pretty much has everything you could need. We actually ended up cooking/grilling at home most nights and enjoying our own view. The kitchen is very well stocked and we scheduled a Fresh Direct delivery for our first morning there so we were all set. The living space is nice and open upstairs. Bathrooms were fine, we loved the outdoor shower. Bedrooms were nice, the one upstairs is the best but the three downstairs are fine.
They also have lots of gear you can use - beach chairs, umbrellas, toys, standing paddleboards, tennis racquets, even helmets and a bike with an attached child's pedal.
One potential downside for people who want to swim is you'd need to walk a few blocks to get to a lifeguard; this wasn't a problem since our young kids only dip their toes. Those with really young kids should note there's a staircase right in the middle of the upstairs living room. A few other minor things could be improved: we would have loved blackout shades for the bunk-bed room for young children with naps and pre-sunset bedtimes. We also would have liked a sun umbrella for the downstairs table; we never ended up eating out there due to heat from direct sunlight.
Overall we had a wonderful stay and we'd definitely come back!
We had a group of 10 on a golf trip in late April.
The location was great to get to Atlantic City, Ocean city and local golf courses. The town had good restaurants and decent nightlife near by as well.
The house itself was in a quiet neighborhood right on a peninsula with a great beach and views. There was plenty of parking and easy to access via a code instead of needing to get keys.
The house was clean with plenty of room to hang out. We had no issue sleeping 10 comfortably and there were 3 bathrooms inside as well as an outside shower so plenty of room. The Kitchen was large and had everything we needed.
Tom was really good to work with before, during and after the trip as he was very responsive.
Completely recommend.
The house was beautiful, just like the pictures and very clean. The location was great. We loved sitting on the second floor deck and the views were so amazing! Everything we needed was available for our stay. Sheets, towels and everything we needed in the kitchen were provided. The beds were very comfortable. The TVs were a little tricky to get going, but with some help we got them working. The beach was lovely, almost private. The area was beautiful and a great place for walking, biking and dogs. I would love to stay here again.
