We had a wonderful time - the kids loved having a pool outside their door and pickleball court. The fishing spot was beautiful on the river. Near plenty of restaurants and some parks too. Heidi was a great host!
My husband and I stayed at Heidis place while visiting GR for an appointment. The carriage house was perfect for one night. Clean space, beautiful location and easy check-in. The pool looked inviting, but we were too busy to jump in. There is a fenced area near the pool that kept the backyard seperate from the space you're in which was nice since we had our pups with us. -Just a heads up to future guests: the Keurig was there but no coffee pods only tea pods, and there were no paper towels. Not a big deal for us, but worth noting!Great stay overall! Very grateful for Heidi's graciousness :)
Great location for the event we came for in Grand Rapids! Although it wasnât an issue for us, the twin beds listed were air mattresses that you have to blow up with a supplied pump. There were 3 twin-size air mattresses. We had a great stay!
Overall this was a very nice stay for my family and dog, especially if you're just looking for a peaceful place to hunker down. The only things I would want anyone to know before booking is that the cabin is right up against some woods and, thus, bugs. My daughter found a tick on her and there were several stink bugs and prolly pollies trotting around. Not a big deal unless you have bug phobias. Also, the path to the house is not paved, so you may want to take that into account with your luggage and footwear.
Country living in a small village along the Grand River just outside of the Grand Rapids metro area⊠We were able to visit with family living in GR during our several week stay which made it very convenient for us, but also allowed us to do multiple days trips to Lake Michigan and other regional locations as well. Accessing the propertyâs relaxing pool was great. Communication with Heidi & Kyle during our stay was just the right touch of being responsive to our needs while allowing privacy as well.
This property is very nice. The house is in good shape especially for the age, the bed and futon are on the second story which was not a problem for us. The heated pool was an added bonus and the setting behind the main house is great!
Not really comfortable for 5 as advertised. The futon was in disrepair and there were no twin beds as listed in the amenities. Very cute place for two or 3. Very peaceful. Would stay again, just with my spouse and my pups only.
The property was beautiful, the kids enjoyed the pool and pickleball court. The description on the place is accurate, the house is older and it shows, but it's a neat bit of history.
Our son had a Track and Field meet at Grand Valley University and this house is minutes away. We also visited Holland and Grand Haven, nice central location.
We loved that we were about a 5 minute drive from our son at GVSU. Our son was happy that we could bring our dogs with us to visit and cook some home cooked meals for him at the cottage. We will definitely be staying here again!
The Parcher family consists of 4 young men, three wives, 2 grandchildren and their parents. All four are out of the house, but stop by frequently. We have home schooled the boys and they are now enjoying their early twenties.
If you are looking for a quiet peaceful home to take a rest, this is the place! Enjoy some "down time" relaxing in our pool. We are 5 minutes away from Allendale and Coopersville. We are 15 minutes away from downtown Grand Rapids and 30 minutes from Grand Haven beach.
This unique home qualifies as historic! Built in the 1830's, there are many stories this house could tell. The most profound piece of information is that the main house was built for a Methodist pastor and his family of Lamont. He would have parked his horse and carriage in the house you will be staying in and possibly have some servants living in the upper floor to help with the estate. Remember, this house has little dents and scratches because it is so old. We try to save our projects for the down time during the winter months. So, keep in mind you will be visiting a OLD house in the COUNTRY with country smells and country critters outside and possibly a couple bugs inside when the weather warms up or cools down with the weather changes.
