It was a great location for our group of 15 adults and 2 toddlers. We had several close up interactions with a mama bear and 3 babies on the balcony, so stay alert when coming and going. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook for our big group. The only critiques we had echo what others have said here: place needs a deep clean. While kitchen and bathrooms were very clean, places like under couch cushions and ceiling fans were not. (And toddlers find everything.) Had some dust bunnies land in our coffee when a fan was turned on. Otherwise, it was very comfortable for the price. Host was very responsive. Would book again!
Propert was fine. Loved the house. It was dusty. Xmas or same ya under couch cushions. Soda cans on outside of home when we got there. The key pad on main door couldnât get to work. On a daily basis the power in one of the room kept popping. When we arrived water bottle by hot tub. The WiFi didnât work after the first day. Had to use hot spot
12 of us celebrating a 40th bd party with family. Great location, lots of bear sightings. We enjoyed the deck every evening. The dining table was large enough for us to all sit and play cards. and the 10% military discount is definitely a plus! The beds are a bit uncomfortable, especially the ones in the downstairs bedroom with the two beds. the bunkbeds in the game room need to be replaced, they squeaked all night, even with just one child using it. The sofa couch in the main living area is very uncomfortable to sit on. We did not use it as a bed. The seven bedrooms included the sofa couch in the living room the open area bunkbeds in the game room and the sofa bed in the game room. The house could use a thorough cleaning lots of cobwebs and dust everywhere. with all that being said, we really enjoyed our stay and finding accommodations for the size of a group is not always easy. We try and do family trips every two years and this trip did not disappoint.
Beautiful views, a little worn, but homey. Need more garbage space and Wi-Fi, but overall really enjoyed our time. We had a mama bear and her 3 babies visit us, which was exciting. Owners were good about responding every time. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
Beautiful cabin! Beautiful view! Plenty of room for family. Small issue, one bathtub continued to drip when shutoff. But it did not cause a problem. We had a wonderful time!!
Everything was good except the deck and furniture on the deck was covered in saw dust. We had to clean off the rails and furniture to sit. Parking wasnât the best for four vehicles but all was good. We had a great vacation.
Our trip was a Christmas gift for our grandparents with their kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. We had a wonderful time. The location is great- away from all of the hustle and bustle but a short drive if want to find something to do. We had 6 bear right under our porch so that was the exciting part of the stay for the kiddos!
Beautiful cabin and more than enough room for our family and their little families. The view was beautiful. Kitchen was fully stocked. Cleanliness I gave it an 4 out of 5 stars due to toilets being dirty and could probably use a deep cleaning. But overall I would rent again.
The house was exactly as expected. The only reason I canât give 5 stars is because the box spring of the bed in the loft was broken and pretty much unusable. We notified the property manager and they responded very quickly that it would be fixed the coming week.
We loved the house and the space but, whoever cleans definitely missed a lot! We swept and moved one couch and looked like a years worth of crumbs and trash was under it! And in the cushions.
Excellent place to stay in the Smokyâs. Loved the deck and chairs to enjoy morning coffee or relaxing afternoons. Good central location to enjoy all the amenities. We had bear visits regularly. One even came up on the deck and peek into our cabin through the glass. We would have enjoyed more lighting on the deck in the evenings. Owner said it was a bad breaker, but electrician never made it out to repair. Other than that, a great place for multiple families.
The directions to the property were very accurate. The driveway to the cabin was very steep! We couldnât check in on time because the washing machine broke and flooded the floor, but they were working very hard to clean it up. They warned us about an active bear in the area and we did see one! The main floor a/c wasnât working and they couldnât get it fixed til the day we checked out. They gave us a partial refund which we accepted.
Location is nice. The house is outdated had mold in the bathroom. Told the property manager never heard back from him. Also, the showerhead had corrosion or mold on them as well. The cleaners did not get done cleaning the house until 11 PM. Therefore I lost the day and I feel like I shouldâve been compensated for that and the mold because I wouldnât let anyone stay in there also none of the lights outside worked he said that he will come back in the morning and get that taken care of never heard from him again...
I was very disappointed with my stay at this cabin. When I arrived, the place was dirty and clearly hadnât been cleaned from the previous guests. Even after contacting the owner, the cabin wasnât cleaned until two hours after my scheduled check-in time. Although I was told the cabin would be ready by 3:30 PM, it wasnât. The cabin itself is in need of a deep cleaning and proper maintenance. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place based on my experience.
Gary and Vicki have been married for 35 years and have two adult sons, Jared and Jacob. They are both former educators; Gary is now a financial advisor and Vicki stays busy managing their homes in Indiana and the Great Smoky Mountains.
When Gary and Vicki first turned on to Wilderness Mountain Drive, and looked up to see Amazing Memories Lodge, Vicki said, âif thatâs it, weâre buying it!â It was the home that checked all the boxes. The two of them loved it so much, they are now building a second version of it further up the mountain.
It was truly serendipity when Gary and Vicki found Amazing Memories Lodge. They both fell in love with the Lodge where they hope to create wonderful memories for their family as well as yours. The dining area in the large great room was perfect for the family meals, the comfortable and luxurious bedrooms and bathrooms were comparable to a four star hotel, and the game room provided an atmosphere to enjoy some friendly competition. Gary and Vicki can only hope you will find the time to enjoy some mountain music while rocking on one of the two balconies or read a good novel as you hear the breeze pass through the trees. They anticipate their guests will enjoy the quietness of the lodge, yet embrace the easy access to many activities just a few miles away.
