The house is tastefully furnished, in immaculate condition and comes with all commodities one can think of.Great view, cozy garden, well connected to Brighton although Rottingdean offers a wide choice of cozy pubs too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Thanks to our nice landlady for renting her place out to us.
We came to settle in our grandson at Sussex University. The location and ease of access for all we had to do was excellent. So nice to look at the sea every day
We have rented private homes all over the world through this website and no other home was quite as thoughtful as this one , providing all the staples from the grocery store upon our arrival in order to welcome us - those being milk , orange juice , bread , butter , cookies , eggs and even a bottle of wine . The owner was hands down , the most accommodating and attentive owner possible . The house was spacious , clean , well decorated with all modern conveniences in the absolute most perfect location . The view was wonderful . We would highly recommend this property . Thanks so much for a wonderful stay !
The house was clean and beautiful with absolutely gorgeous views of the sea. Super convenient for bus pickups and drop offs and within walking distance to Rottingdean and Saltdean. We loved the trails along the cliff side and the views of the town mixed with countryside. The only down side is there are no downstairs bedrooms or bathrooms. What we believed was the master was locked and not accessible to us. This is a bit inconvenient and would be an issue if you have trouble with stairs. Also the king size mattresses were very uncomfortable. The springs in mattress in the bedroom with the en-suite could be felt through the bedding and the other was hard as a rock. Other than these two issues we loved it! We would definitely book again.
Lovely property, centrally located to Brighton and turned out to be a great choice for our trip home to the UK to visit friends, family and generally travelling around. Lots of great pubs in the area and Rottingdean village, the undercliff walk and beach are only a few minutes stroll down the road.
House was spotless, very well equipped and the welcome supply of basic food requirements was very much appreciated after a long flight, along with the smell of fresh flowers in the home. Ruth the property manager who lives next door greeted us upon arrival with the keys and general information and Karen the owner has been very accommodating with any requests.
If you are bringing a car the driveway access is pretty tight and involved a few manoeuvres to turn the car around again at the top of the drive when we went out (you would not want to reverse out into the traffic) but certainly not an issue and there was plenty of room by the garage to park. Lovely garden to enjoy and the sea views from the main living area were fantastic.
Would definitely recommend this property and would certainly stay again in the future so thank you.
Property was very well kept, nice and clean, well stocked kitchen. We were a Family of 4 adults and 2 children, and there was ample space for us not to be on top of each other. Nice large lounge, and a large kitchen. Bedrooms were all double sized. There was a gate that could be closed across the drive to make the back garden secure for kids and dogs. Although not a large garden it was pretty, with a lawn and patio. Upon arriving we were greeted by a lady who explained things that we needed to know regarding bin day, recycling day etc. We had been left milk, apple juice, wine and biscuits which was nice. The house is on the busy coastal road, which was noisy (not enough to worry us, but might bother others) the upside to this though is brilliant bus routes literally on the doorstep (bus stop outside front of house) that went into Brighton one way and Eastbourne the other way. Buses running every 15 mins, meaning easy access to both these large towns, which is great as parking especially in Brighton not good.
Also in great position for walking down to Rottingdean beach 10mins and in opposite direction Saltdean beach 20 mins walk along coastal path. Both beaches had a mixture of dog free, and dog friendly areas. Both had refreshments and toilets (though not the nicest toilets)
As a Family we had an amazing time, children loved beach life and adults enjoyed the very nice pubs/restaurants that are only 10 minutes walk away from the house. Again I will say house very clean and comfortable, Karen easy to communicate with, and all went smoothly from booking to arrival to departure.
I donât know if Karen will update the information on her web site, but at the moment it says tight parking for two cars and space at front for small car, the space at front is easily big enough for a large family car, but also makes turning into drive and reversing up to park cars at the back very easy, at the moment if you read the description it might put you off, but I would say you could park up to 4 cars on the drive.
Really pleased we booked.
A lovely place to stay. Extremely clean on arrival with comfortable and more than adequate facilities.
The garden at the back was well maintained and lovely to sit out in.
Only two slight issues with the house (which were manageable) were, road at the front is busy and therefore the front of the house is rather noisy, pretty much 24/7 and secondly, there is a request to be inside the property from 9pm, whilst manageable, we stayed in a week where the weather was amazing and therefore having to go in from the lovely garden by 9pm seemed a little early.
The location is ideal for the beach, 10 min (max) walk, Rottingdean Village itself, which is lovely, great country pubs, local butcher, fishmonger etc., Brighton by bus (15 mins) or a lovely cycle ride along the front (30 mins), Lewes 20 mins drive and of course the generally beautiful south coast.
All in all, a wonderful week away.
We enjoyed a lovely family weekend in this beautiful property filled with light and with amazing sea views. I could lounge on the sofa and gaze over the stormy March seas from the comfort of my sofa. Walking distance of Rottingdean pubs and restuarants were in easy reach. Thank you for sharing your delightful home with us.
We had a great time in this wonderful house with seaview!
We had some bad luck with the fridge, but Karen quickly replaced it, very generous!!
All in all I sincerely recommand this lively house, Rottingdean.is a treasure, although you have to consider traffic in front of the house!
This property was perfect for us - gorgeous setting, charming town of Rottingdean was quaint and quieter than Brighton. House well equipped and owner very accommodating. The house is closer to it's neighbors than photos suggest, but it didn't change our experience much. We recommend this place very highly.
Well equipped, comfortable with extra thoughtful touches
We had a lovely long weekend here over New Year. The house is well equipped with good quality appliances and equipment. The owner had left some supplies including wine and flowers which was very kind. A tiny problem was dealt with immediately very well. Short walk into the village where we ate at one of the pubs. The beach is close by and itâs a flat walk into Brighton. House was very warm and comfortable. Great having lots of jigsaws available and Netflix on the tv. Would recommend the house.
Great base to explore Brighton and the surrounding area. Lounge has stunning views and is a good place to relax. The driveway is tricky to enter and exit, but the off road parking is safe.
Comfortable family friendly house in a great location.
Went for a long weekend with my husband, two kids, and their grandparents. The property was a great location to walk into Rottingdean and the beach via a grassy path. Outside the house was the bus stop to get to Brighton. Lots to lovely walks in Rottingdean and Rudyard Kipling gardens. Even though it was on a noisy road, the house is very quiet with beautiful views of the water. Comfortable lounge for reading and playing with our kids. Kitchen well stocked to make proper meals. Plenty of room in the house to hang out but also have some privacy. Great choice!
