Found this by chance when we were looking for Hotel accommodation & decided to book this instead due to reviews & quiet location. So pleased we did as exactly as described & made our first visit to Oxford memorable .
We are Louise and Matthew and we moved into Dove House in 2011 and have since renovated and developed the house and the gardens. We have 5 boys who have all but one left home and our only girl Daisy is a pointer cross who enjoys the space of the gardens. We are both from the north of England but enjoy Oxford and all it offers.
With Central Oxford only around 15 minutes away and London around an hour away, Dove House Cottages provide a country feel but having Oxford so nearby. Dove House is an amazing stone built house with some parts dating back to 1450 and having a Grade 1 monument dovecote in the grounds. Free range hens wander around the grounds and the welcome gift of a few fresh eggs for the guests always seems to please! The village of Cassington is so conveniently located being so near to both Central Oxford and The Cotswolds. Both of them can be reached so easily.
The house overlooks the Norman church of St Peters and indeed the church bells ring out in true village style. The cottages are renovated to a very high standard and are immaculately presented. The friendly village has 2 pubs literally seconds away and the cottages offer total privacy but having Oxford city life just about 15 mins away.
