Nous sommes situĂ©s au deuxiĂšme Ă©tage d'un immeuble d'avant-guerre majestueuse au cƓur du centre-ville historique de Charleston, SC. Nous offrons une entrĂ©e privĂ©e, et cinq chambres spacieuses avec de hauts plafonds et planchers de pin coeur du 19Ăšme siĂšcle, accentuĂ©s avec des peintures et des meubles de notre galerie d'antiquitĂ©s au rez-de-chaussĂ©e. Nous sommes directement en face Meeting Street du Mills House emblĂ©matique, et Ă  proximitĂ© de restaurants et de bars primĂ©s, shopping rue King et de la vie nocturne, galeries d'art, le marchĂ© de la ville, parcs et jardins bucoliques, Ă©glises historiques, Sud de demeures larges et multiples salles de rĂ©ception. DĂ©tendez-vous sur la spacieuse vĂ©randa Ă©tage 2, avec de belles vues sur les clochers des deux St. Philips et St. Michael. Le porche profond remplit avec le soleil du matin et capture la brise du port Ă  proximitĂ©

The location is unbeatable. The accommodations were very comfortable and well appointed for the 9 of us. My only complaint is the pots and pans were not conducive for cooking (very scratched Teflon) so we chose not to do any cooking, but plenty of great restaurants in walking distance.

Great Place to Stay

This property was in the perfect location for walking to many of the great restaurants that Charleston has to offer. It had a lot of space (for a group of 8) and the outdoor patio was great.

Perfect wedding weekend location

We were in town for our daughter’s wedding and this was a fantastic location. I wish there would have been parking as part of the unit but other than that it couldn’t have been more perfect for our stay.

Thanksgiving in Charleston

This property is in a fantastic location! We enjoyed proximity to all of the shops, restaurants and parks. Very spacious bedrooms and huge porch. We had a great time!

Great location!

This property was located within walking distance to just about everything we did., so could not have been better. The porch view was fabulous and in warmer weather we would have used much more. The property could use a little updating in general but the location makes up for it.

Great House, Great Location!

I cannot say enough great things about this apartment. Perfect for a large group. There is a spiral staircase up to the apartment, but they have a luggage elevator so you do not have to haul your stuff up the stairs which is a great bonus for a historic place such as this. The space itself was beautiful and very open with large rooms and beds with a large living room and porch to allow the opportunity for hanging out and conversation while never feeling as though you are right on top of one another. There was also large closets with mirrors which helped with so many women trying to get ready at the same time. The location was absolutely fantastic, walking distance to the market and pinned directly in the center of so many historical places! Just a short walk away you can get to shopping on King Street and excellent restaurants such as Blossom, Poogan's Porch and much more all right by. The property manager was also very responsive to all questions which is always a plus!

Great Location

This historic condo is located in the heart of everything. Upon arrival, the luggage elevator was not working and we had to hoist all of our baggage up the steep, narrow, spiral staircase. The property manager had it repaired the next day, so checking out was much easier. The rooms are spacious and our favorite place was the large terrace. Bring your own pillows. The pillows in the unit were either very old and flat or stained. The refrigerator froze the fruit and vegetable trays I had delivered so be careful of that. The house sits on one of the main streets of the city, and the noise in the front bedrooms will have you up before the sun, so bring earplugs. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

This house was perfect for our weekend getaway! The location of the house was perfect for our every need and want. Plenty of restaurants, shopping and things to do within walking distance. We absolutely loved sitting outside on the deck in the morning drinking our coffee and soaking up the sunshine. Would highly recommend staying here! The host was very easy to communicate with and always responded very quickly.

Loved the location! Older, historic building within easy walking distance to all sites. Restaurants, coffee shops, King street and the City Market only a few blocks away. The luggage elevator did not always work so carrying luggage up/down the winding staircase was a challenge, especially if you are older. Suggest providing better instructions for using the elevator. Thoroughly enjoyed morning coffee on the large outdoor veranda!

Location was convenient for walking around town. Apartment had a lot of cool art (for sale) hanging on the walls from the gallery below. Plenty of room and utilities. Bathrooms were clean and bedrooms had plenty of blankets and pillows. TV was a tad small for the living room but that's about it.

In Town Fabulous

The apartment was roomy and charming. We spent many hours on the spacious veranda enjoying the cool ocean breeze, but the main attraction was the location. We could walk to wherever we wanted to go.I would return if I had the chance.

wedding week and the best week of our lives!!!!

The property was PERFECT!!! The location could not have been better. Being able to spread out and having plenty of room definitely helped everyone to feel like we weren't on top of each other. The porch - not enough words to say about that porch - crisp early mornings with coffee and friends - nothing better. I would come here every time I come to Charleston!!!! It was the best!!!

Comfy Stay for Wedding Festivities

We were in town to celebrate my son’s wedding. The reception was just steps away from this location at the Gibbes Art Museum. The home was exactly as described. Beds were comfy and the house had all the necessary amenities. The house has no parking which is a bummer but we knew that going in and had no trouble finding space in the garage which was a very quick walk. The luggage elevator was a fantastic help so we didn’t have to haul the luggage up the stairs. We would definitely book again.

Perfect location

This property is situated in the best location, access to shopping on King Street & walkable to most areas of this amazing city. High ceilings, lovely furnishings and clean, clean, clean. The front bedrooms are right on Meeting Street, which is a main thoroughfare for trucks at night. If you are a light sleeper it might make sense to choose a bedroom towards the back of the apartment. Further, there should be black out shades-in the front bedrooms-as the lights from the hotel and restaurants across the street are always bright. While the rugs are gorgeous antique orientals, they have a strong musty smell - people with allergies might really have difficulty with the odors. The porch lights and fans also inoperable. Coming up the spiral staircase at night is treacherous and should be lit. I would also suggest that the emergency escape windows be fixed - they are painted shut - and would be impossible to open in an emergency. Finally, and most frustratingly - the luggage elevator would not work. We tried every way possible to make it work, and called for help the day before having to leave, with no response. I had to carry a virtually empty suitcase down the spiral staircase, put my belongings in shopping bags to carry down and then pack my bag in the driveway. There are simple fixes for these complaints, and should be addressed. If taken care of.......then this is a splendid place to stay in Charleston. The back veranda is amazing. And yes, I would stay there again.....

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

We are located on the SE corner of Meeting and Queen Streets, in the historic French Quarter District in downtown Charleston, SC, within what was the old walled city. The land was part of a Colonial land grant in 1695. The present building dates to 1854. It has hosted a colorful array of occupants since then, including a 19th century grocery store, billiards saloon, BBQ restaurant, liquor store, law firm, art gallery, and present-day antiques store with residences above. Free parking on adjacent parking lot during non business hours.
In our family since 1968, we have transformed the second floor as a city-licensed luxury vacation rental, perfect for family reunions, group getaways, small business retreats, or wedding parties (the apartment is within 3 blocks of multiple famous churches and reception halls).
We have enjoyed many years of meals, cocktails, and good conversation on the piazza, admiring the view. Now it is time to share our home as your newfound home-away-from-home

We do provide a "starter kit" for each renter which includes: 4 toilet paper rolls,, 1 paper towel roll, hotel soaps for sinks, showers, bathtub, a small dish liquid and a sponge beside the kitchen sink, 3 dishwasher tablets, 2 dishtowels, 2 13-gallon kitchen trash can liners, and small 4-gal trash can liners for the small trash cans throughout the home

PARKING
You may notice there is a parking lot behind the house. This parking lot is owned by the City Of Charleston and is NOT to be used during your stay; it is for city officials. There is a sign located in the lot which states the hours that the lot is not being used for those offices if you need to use it during those off hours. However, IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE HOURS YOU WILL BE TOWED AND YOU WILL BE FINED A MINIMUM OF $250.00 BY THE CITY.
