We enjoyed our stay. We were there for a family wedding in Margaretville. The location was perfect for us before and after the wedding. Everything we needed was there.
The home was spacious, clean and comfortable. The private pool is large and we had a wonderful time floating in it with the provided inflatables. Comfortable beds and very nice bathrooms. Located conveniently close to lots of area attractions. Hosts were friendly and responsive.
This was our second time at the property. The house is exactly as advertised. The house was clean, kitchen well equipped and the back sunroom is a great place to begin and end your day. The lawn had just been mowed and the pool was very refreshing. We had a wonderful time.
This was our second time renting from Nancy and we can't wait for our next visit. The house is lovely and so comfortable and furnished with everything we needed. The yard is perfect for our little pup to romp around and we were able to use the pool which was wonderful. Nancy herself is so helpful and makes the entire process so simple and pleasant. Thank you again for a wonderful stay and can't wait to return.
Great place to either base out of or simply stay for a vacation.
This home is located in a terrific spot to enjoy the Catskills, the Hudson River Valley and other nearby areas. Though the traffic on the street can be consistent and noisy, the sunroom in the back totally overrides that! Other than when sleeping, our group spend all of our time in the cozy, comfortable sunroom. The backyard would be wonderful for any group (adults and/or kids) and made us wish we were there in the summer rather than in April!
Traveling to a family wedding is challenging when it is coast to coast. Fresh from the red-eye we received special early access to the Hurley home. Both the great room and the comfortable furniture by the pool allowed us time to unwind, and other family members to visit. Grocery shopping was charming and convenient. The neighborhood was quiet. The stay was delightful. Wedding was fun too!
We absolutely LOVED this house! Very clean & comfortable with everything one could need. The sunroom is an amazing space. We especially loved spending time there watching the little birds in the backyard. The occasional sound of the Old Hurley Church bells in the distance created an ethereal beauty over this quiet, historic town. It really was a perfect stay for us with close access to all of our points of interest. The tranquil atmosphere of the house allowed us to feel totally at home during our stay. Our hostess was very helpful, kind & accommodating ~ Thank you Nancy!
The hosts Nancy & Randy are very attentive, friendly, and available for questions regarding what to visit in the area, as well as any questions regarding the house. The house is lovely and very comfortable. You don't want to leave the sunroom and its view once you sit down there! The pool was kept scrupulously clean during our 2-week stay, and is much larger than it appears in the photo. We loved the historic area in which the house resides, as well as Uptown and Downtown Kingston. The house is in a very convenient location to many areas in the Hudson Valley. But we were always happy to return to the house, and relax there so easily. We hope to return!
The house was all we expected, but we had some surprises of our own
Since one of our grandchildren was ill during our stay, we had to change our plans. Our party for their 21st birthday was therefore held at their house instead, which was crowded but happy nonetheless. Your house would have been a great place to have the dinner party, and next time we hope to include our golden retriever too! We really appreciated your responsiveness to the few issues we had at your house, and look forward to a return visit soon.
I was pleasantly surprised at the location within cute historic Hurley with the houses from the 1770âs nearby. The house was large enough to host family for dinners (we were there Christmas week) with enough room to spread out. Fenced in yard was a big plus as we brought our dog. Yes, as other reviewers commented, the front room is louder when the garbage trucks come at 5:00 am. Otherwise, it is on a quieter road. And the other rooms were quiet. The house is situated in such a way that early risers banging around in the kitchen and family room does not disturb others upstairs (that is rare). We had rain, but it would have been nice to walk the neighborhood and the nearby rail to trail and historic downtown. All and all, weâd gladly come back when in town visiting family.
We stayed here for labor day weekend with my husband and brother & sister-in-law (plus baby). The owners were great; they were very responsive and helpful. They gave great suggestions, particularly around what to do in the area with a baby. The house is very well appointed - with ample toilet paper, paper towels, seventh generation cleaning products & detergent, etc. The kitchen is very well stocked with good quality pans (including le creset), great knives, plenty of spatulas, etc. - really anything you might need. We've done homeaway a number of times and this was by far the best appointed house (with nice products that I would use anyway). The pool area had plenty of sun as well as shade, depending on what you wanted to do. It's not heated, which was fine with some of us, less fine with others of us. There were plenty of floats for the pool as well, which were really fantastic. Also the grill was great. I would definitely come back here.
We loved our vacation at Nancyâs home. The pictures do not do it justice. The house is well located in a quiet neighborhood, close to shopping and Kingston. It has all the charms one desire from an upstate house without having to sacrifice proximity to all the necessary conveniences of a city. Itâs cozy and comfortable, equipped with all the essentials and more that make it a home away from home. Even though the house is older compared of some of our past rentals, but itâs solidly built with character and very reliable modern appliances such as dishwasher, nice big fridge, great washer/dryer and more. The sunroom provides a nice relaxing space wether you want to watch the birds, read a book, listen to music, watch TV or just hang out. We cooked nice meals in the big kitchen and made sâmores in the fire pit. There is also a grill available on the deck should the mood strike you. Nancy was wonderfully accommodating and easy to reach. We would love to go back again when the pool is open. All in all, Nancyâs house was lovely and weâd definitely rent again.
Despite a TERRIBLE travel day getting to the home, it turned out great. Our som, daughter in-law and grandson live nearby. Grandson LOVED the pool and big yard with the playset. We would love to visit again!
This is a really nice house, the best part for us is the location: near Kingston and what it has to offer, and close to my daughter on Lucas Ave. It is a large house with plenty of space and light from large windows, and the pool was clean and fun (though I found the water to be frigid!). My daughter and her grown twins had a lot of fund in the pool.
The first issue was in the directions. The correct exit off the thruway is exit 19, not 18 (which is for New Paltz, not Kingston). If I didn't use my own GPS I would have been lost.
The second issue, for which you provide a white noise generator, was the street noise. Millbrook Ave., as short as it is, appears to be a thru street between route 209 and Lucas Ave, and is used by many truckers and bikers. The air conditioner, which we eventually turned off, was also very noisy.
Irritating was the lack of facial tissues and the provision of single-ply toilet paper. I understand the need to economize, but that was going too far.
I have never before been asked to wash linens before checking out of a rental. Maybe that's the new normal, I wouldn't know, but having to leave by 10AM made our departure all the more hectic.
Overall we enjoyed our stay, but before we rent with you again we would likely check out other properties nearby first to see what else, if anything is available. We actually do not need anything as large--or as highly priced--as your house.

Beautiful, spacious home. We spent the majority of our time in the sunroom - the views from this room are wonderful. This was the perfect home for my family and I, and we can't wait to go back.
The property was just as described - cute older farmhouse in the historic town of Hurley. The bedrooms all had comfortable beds and the kitchen was modern and well equipped. The bathrooms are all renovated and very nice. The back sunroom is a bright and airy modern addition to the house that has a beautiful view of the backyard. The pool area is really pleasant and the pool was clean and very refreshing on a hot day. The hosts were responsive to texts and left detailed house instructions. A great stay and we may be back!!
The house is great and very large yet still cozy. The property is private and was really beautiful in the snow. The host was a great communicator and they even came and helped dig us out of the snow with a snowblower! We had a great winter getaway!
The house was perfect for six people (If you added two more they would have to sleep on two couches) We were there during Thanksgiving and everything worked perfectly: electric stove, dish washer, heating, TV, internet, hot water. There is seating for eight at the table. The sitting room at the other end of the house with the very large picture window was our favorite hang-out spot. The back yard is enclosed so dogs can run around safely. Ample parking for at least four cars. If you want to shop and enjoy night life, Kingston is about 3 miles down the road. Perfect for us. We did not explore the rail trail because of the cold weather. We would return to this home in the future. Thumbs up!
We are a fun loving couple with 2 children who love the area. We are excited to share our home with people who are interested in all the beautiful Hudson Valley has to offer. We are happy to share any and all information regarding what to do and see during your stay.
We chose Old Hurley because of it's charm and beauty. It is quiet yet close to everything! We have a beautiful private back yard with an in ground pool. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
The sunroom is our favorite spot in the house where we find ourselves gathering most of the time. The bird watching from this room is great and we also share meals, games, music and quiet time in this light filled space.
