Annetteâs villa is in a beautiful location overlooking a valley below. The rooms are very comfortable, the kitchen is supplied with all of the amenities to enjoy home cooked meals, and the grounds and pool are terrific to enjoy. Would highly recommend the meals prepared by Ann (the caretaker). We had a wonderful time and would surely return.
Wonderful and spacious house with very well equipped kitchen and large and comfortable bedrooms.
Terrific mountain view, perfect outdoor areas and a superb pool.
Nice short walk to Castino, a charming small town with most of what you need.
Awesome views, great building with such character, lots of walks then hit the pool. Well equipped kitchen to make great meals. Very quiet. Dinner option with Ann & Joseph was fantastic. Recommend highly.
While the pictures of the property are breathtaking, they do no justice to reality. Everything was beyond expectations and our time in Castino was magical.
The property owner and on local manager ensured everything was in order and made our stay totally comfortable and relaxing.
Annette was very responsive and the house had all of the amenities promised. Stunning views and a perfect place for a large family gathering- lots of large rooms for together time and private spaces for alone time.
Fantastic property managers. We had two dinners with vine and food. We recommend strongly to book this. Ann and Joseph were the best.
The house, garden and poolarea was very nice.
Lovely house, well-equipped and easily accommodating 10-12p. Ideal for 3 fams as the rooms on levels 1 and 2 have opposite bedrooms. Great pool on a nice 3-level garden with more than enough space. On the mezzanine level a fine terrass overlooking the hilly environment. We would certainly recommend the property!
Excellent property in a great quiet rural location but only 10 mins walk from Castino with its cafe/bar, deli and pasta shop. Perfect for a relaxing getaway with our family and friends. Lots to see in the area - we only scratched the surface. Pool was lovely and much enjoyed, and a real bonus in the summer heat. Communications with Annette and Ann were excellent, and we were made to feel very welcome - with recommendations for places to visit and eat. A real highlight was the evening meal cooked by Joseph and Ann - which was delicious and highly recommended. A fantastic holiday enjoyed by all of us.
Beautifully presented casa with multiple outdoor seating areas. Fabulous kitchen for cooks. Easy walk to village through hazelnut groves - vlllage has limited but OK cafe choices.
The highlight for us was Ann and Joseph who prepared such a wonderful banquet and wine on our second night we had to ask them back for an encore ! Lovely people and nothing was too much trouble. Thoroughly recommend as a sanctuary in Piedmontese countryside.
Great house with an amazing view. Only âdrawbackâ is it is slightly secluded. 15 minute drive to the grocery store. But that is also itâs charm, just be aware. We had 7 adults and the house worked perfectly for us. We took advantage of having Ann and her husband cook for us while there. Incredible meal! More than worth it. Highly recommend this amazing house!
Our family (six adults) spent two wonderful weeks at Casa Annunziata recently.
Like other reviewers we found the house was very clean and comfortable with several alfresco eating areas and an excellent outdoor pool area that we took full advantage of.
After we ignored the directions provided (donât use google maps!) Ann, the property manager patiently guided us to the house - literally stayed on the phone and gave us bend by bend instructions, and then provided a comprehensive intro to the house and grounds.
We had requested some food and wine be purchased for our first evening and as a result there was great quality food and wine waiting (special thanks for the wine, Joseph!)
We really appreciated the tranquility of the house location amongst the hazelnut groves and itâs proximity to historic Castino with lovely local walks nearby.
Also appreciated the recommendations about local markets, restaurants, wine tastings etc. Of particular note were visits to Barolo, la Morra and Cortemelia - donât miss la Corte de Cannobia for the best hazelnuts and icecream! and local visits to Francesco Scanavino and the Camo Museo a Cielo.
Like previous guests we highly recommend the home dining service provided by Ann and Joseph which was a real qhighlight of our holiday.
Many thanks Annette for sharing your property!
Our group of 8 thoroughly enjoyed our stay and certainly would highly recommend. The house & pool area were a needed recluse after a week in busy cities to the south.
Highlight was a fantastic six-course meal with wine pairings prepared by Ann and Joseph! This made a "big" birthday even more special.
Also, I would recommend using their wine service as well. After a couple of e-mails with Joseph about what kind of wine we liked, we arrived at the and were greeted with all of the wine we ordered, which would have been impossible to duplicate from a store or wineries.
Our group likes to cook and we were very happy with the kitchen and amenities.
We enjoyed the stroll through hazelnut orchards to the village of Castino (do it at night and catch the fireflies!), where we visited the deli, coffee shop and yes, the ATM! Also caught an interesting match of fistball one night against another village in a street next to Santa Margherita.
Overall fantastic experience and a great base camp to explore Alba, Barolo, Barbaresco and other small Langhe towns, as well as the Italian Riviera.
We have just had our second wonderful family holiday here. We first stayed in 2015 and loved it. Then we thought it could not be bettered but we were wrong. The new owners have lovingly improved many things.
The house is roomy, really well equipped and very comfortable. The large well kept garden is great for children. The pool is by far the best we have had at any of the many houses we have rented over the years. The pool area has been beautifully upgraded with a safe non slip stone terrace and some welcome shade from a pergola.
Real highlights (as in 2015) were the two Sunday lunches cooked and served to us on a shaded garden terrace by the wonderful Ann and Joseph Stefani. Eight different plates each Sunday, from antipasti to dolci with five different wines to accompany the food. They are lovely people and the food and wine were excellent. Their local knowledge was also a real benefit when exploring the area.
As a family of three generations it can be hard to find a place that suits us all. This really did. I hope it will not be our last visit.
Our group of 3 couples and 1 single stayed at the villa for 5 nights. The bedrooms are all larger than average; it is an older house with historic charm, and updated throughout. Most windows had screens, except for one of the top floor bedrooms; mosquitos were in abundance, so we had to be careful. Guests reported they were comfortable in the space, but the beds / matresses were hard.
Ann, the house manager, and her husband Joseph, were so kind and thoughtful about everything. We took advantage of Joseph's amazing culinary skills (really, quite good!) for two amazing meals with wine pairings. So much better to do this at home. We enjoyed the 15 minutes walk through the hazelnut orchard to the local village, and getting a bite from the nice pizza place the first night. Tiny town, but this little restaurant is actually quite on top of things.
VRBO has an annoying feature that makes it so even if the place you choose has room for 12, and you say you're bringing 8, if you change to say you're bringing 7 that incurs a change fee - a backhanded way of making a few extra euro, that only tarnish's the brand.
Otherwise, we'd recommend the house - the pool area is lovely, too, but the water will likely be cold unless you're there in the hot summer or pay extra to have the heater on. Thanks again to Ann and Joseph for their kind hospitality!
We had a wonderful stay at Annette's beautifully decorated, newly renovated villa. We were two families traveling with a total of 5 teenagers. The villa had 5 spacious well decorated bedrooms with shared bathrooms. Two great lounge areas complete with comfy sofas, chairs and upstairs a wood stove. Our bedroom opened onto a patio which on clear days gave views of the Alps. The kitchen was fabulous as was the dining area. We started this trip proclaiming we would not do any cooking but couldn't resist as the surrounding villages markets had such wonderful food and the kitchen made it so easy! The caretaker Anne made the trip extra special and fantastic. She patiently and expediently answer all of my many questions prior to our arrival. She was waiting at the villa to greet us, show us the property and upon request had stocked the refrigerator with enough food for a wonderful first meal of bread, cheeses and meats of the area along with fruits, yogurts and muesli for the following mornings. Anne was a wonderful source of information for the area and its surrounds. She booked and accompanied us on a truffle hunt, left maps and directions for hikes in the areas, booked us wonderful wine tasting and a memorable trip to a local hazelnut farm and factory! Anne and her husband also cooked us a very memorable and fantastic meal at the villa complete with clean-up! One of our favorite meals and nights! Our two sons spent a wonderful afternoon mountain biking around the area on the two very nice bikes at the villa.
Annette thoughtfully provided a very inclusive information book about the villa, troubleshooting any problems, local restaurants, museums, etc. Annette was incredibly timely in answering any questions. The villa is better than depicted and I am already planning my return during warmer weather when we could enjoy the pool and outside barbecue and patios! Thank you so much Annette for sharing this gem with us and many, many thanks to Anne for all of your gracious help in making this vacation so memorable!!!
Sehr schönes gepflegtes Anwesen fĂŒr eine groĂe Familie. Der Pool war klasse und auch top gepflegt. Uns hat es so gut gefallen, dass wir nĂ€chstes Jahr wiederkommen wollen.
The property is beautiful and spacious for our group of 8. The views are lovely. The kitchen is well equipped and the property manager couldnât have been more helpful. Because it is very rural, there are limited places to eat and grocery shop nearby. The main restaurant was shut for the next 4 months as was the local pasta shop. The down side is that we had to drive a lot. However the lanscape Is stunning

Our family of nine fit comfortably in this well maintained and beautiful property. The kitchen was well equipped and spacious. We loved the two large living rooms as well. We were close to Alba and was able to enjoy the town and the White Truffle Festival with wine tastings there. Property hosts Ann and Joseph were extremely helpful responding to our questions with many suggestions. Two highlights were our specially arranged Truffle Hunt and a delicious Prix Fixe dinner with wine pairings created by Joseph and Ann at Casa Annunziata for our family and some friends. Grazie mille also to Annette for sharing her familyâs warm and beautiful home with our family. Aloha from Felice and Ed
Beautiful Villa with great accomodations tucked away in Piemonte
The stay was fantastic. The house is very well equipped and very comfortable with 5 rooms that were all equally great. The amentities were top notch and the property was incredibly maintained. We were treated to a wonderful dinner and wine pairing our first night and then took advantage of the kitchen the following meals. The kitchen was a cook's dream - all the tools you need and a great range and oven for anyone who likes to cook. I wish we had the time to be here longer, we could have stayed for weeks. Additionally we had our 17 month old with us and she enjoyed the property, running around the garden all day. Thank you so much.
We booked the house to stay in with my mom and our 4 year old son. Friends also came to meet us. The house was so great with multiple groups as there are bedrooms and bathrooms on three different floors. Ann met us at the house with a warm welcome and wine we had ordered. She also arranged a babysitter for our son who was so wonderful. The house is just perfect, nestled in a hazelnut orchard, but not too far from town. The market and bakery in Cortemilia was a favorite. All in all, a totally perfect spot.
We are a Luxemburgish, Italian, German and Taiwanese family of four and live since a few years in Beijing. Working in travel journalism and electric automobile industry we treasure beautiful places around the world and healthy food and environment.
The property's unique hilltop location among the hazelnut groves and vineyards with stunning views and sunsets attracted us right away. We fell in love with the villa's charming old elements, dating back to the 16th century, and appreciated the tasteful modernisation. We especially value the Piemontese landscape with breathtaking views over the Alps, excellent food and great wine. The property is embedded right in the heart of the famous Alta Langhe not far from the UNESCO world heritage landscape.
From the very large heated pool (minimum 23 degrees celsius) in the lush garden you can see over the valley and enjoy the stunning sunsets. The peaceful and tranquil location allows you to relax although you can reach by foot the lovely historic village in no more then 20 minutes. The perfect place to start discovering this magical territory, rich in flavours and tradition.
