We greatly enjoyed our stay here on Damariscotta Lake. It is a beautiful and relaxing spot. We enjoyed the swimming, camping and stargazing. The house is well-outfitted and quite comfortable, and the owner very responsive.
this was one of the best places to stay! the private dock was great to have, especially for watching the stars at night! the house was amazing and had all the necessities and more! Janet was so friendly and helpful with everything we needed. we would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone!
This is someoneâs home. Their clothes were in the closet. When you have had a summer house for a long time you get used to foibles and ignore them. The stairs down to the water are at different heights with a very flimsy rail, the downstairs is very damp in humid weather with the floor really becoming wet and slippery. If you are used to navigating them it is probably fine but a real problem if you arenât used to them. The owners were very attentive when we had a problem and the sunsets were spectacular
Janet's property on Lake Damariscotta is exceptional! My colleagues and I stayed at this place for a few days while at work nearby. The house is isolated and quite private. The rooms are really nice and the kitchen is well-equipped with all necessities to cook a meal. The highlight is of course the deck and access to the lake, makes for some spectacular sunset viewing. Also keep a look out for loons on the lake! Janet was very communicative and ensured a smooth stay. We would definitely consider staying again if we are in the area.
This cute house in a quiet location has a lot of up side and potential. The owner is a clear communicator and extremely helpful. I was a little disappointed that the linens, towels, and cookware needed replacement which the owner is working on based on some direct communication. Also note that the walkway down to the lake is a bit narrow and steep with a so so railing. It is not accessible for older people who are a little unsteady on their feet, and it may be a challenge to carry a kayak to the waterfront.
We are a professional couple with two grown children and three grandchildren. We have strong family ties to Maine and had this house designed and built in 1988/1989. It is a wonderful, peaceful spot that we love to share.
Our house offers the ultimate Maine lakefront experience. Enjoying a glass of wine or lobster feast on the deck with the sun setting across the lake will definitely make you smile. The house is off the beaten path for true privacy but not too far from the beautiful Maine coastal towns and great restaurants of Rockland, Rockport and Camden.
Since we use our house frequently, it is extremly comfortble and "guest friendly". All linens/towels/ pots / pans are provided and we keep supplies well stocked and available for guests to use and replenish.
