Perfect staycation

Best family staycation ever! Although we have stayed at Honua Kai many times this condo was by far the best choice we’ve made. It was perfect for our family. Excellent location within the resort and beautifully equipped with anything and everything we could have needed for our stay. We will definitely be seeking out this unit for our next stay. Thanks so much!

Perfect location for Honua Kai

We really enjoyed being right next to the gym and convenience store as well as having a ground floor apartment. I will say that the dishwasher didn't really clean the dishes, and the master bedroom's air conditioner was weirdly freezing compared to the rest of the condo. Otherwise, we loved it so much!

Pretty awesome

Some hiccups with ongoing painting during our stay that wasn’t communicated, but pretty great place. Has vegetation on patio that screens you from folks walking through lobby which is helpful. Identical place across the way didn’t have it and they were really exposed to the general population. Trash is next door as well as gym. You can hear folks going into gym in the morning (if you’re a light sleeper). Trash room wasn’t a big deal, but a good thing to know if that’s something that may bug you. Needs some minor touch ups, wall paint by couch, kitchen sink leaks a bit, ceiling and fan light bulbs. If you compare to Montage or Grand Wailea, it’s kind of similar, but they’re ~$2k+/night. Should emphasize, not having to use the elevator is a huge benefit if it’s crowded at the resort. Overall a good value if your expectations are set appropriately. It was a great home base for our family.

Best Patio

As a group of 7 adults in two separate units the living room and patio in 113 were a natural gathering place. Many drinks and dinners and plenty of laughter. Would have liked a citrus hand press style juicer.

Nice condo, a bit rule-heavy

The condo itself was very nice. It was clean and nicely decorated. The condo was also well appointed, with plenty of kitchen items (but no cupboard space left to store food). The beach chairs, umbrella and boogie boards were also nice to have. That being said, it was a bit rule-heavy - the whole property seemed that way, which was a bit impersonal and dictatorial. The property managers were fine, but the resort staff were a bit odd. The check-in process seemed like a hassle and there was no willingness to assist with baggage or valet - it was very much ‘fend for yourself’. We noticed this in particular coming from a week from the Marriot Maui Vacation Club (not far up the road) who had very helpful bell and valet staff.

Perfect Location

This was our 3rd time staying at Honua Kai and this was our favorite unit thus far! Perfect location with easy access to pool and lobby/Whaler’s Market. Almost never used the front door (no elevators or long hallways!) Unit was spacious, clean and comfortable.

Perfect Relaxation!

This condo was amazing! Perfect location with easy in and out access, no waiting for elevators. The separation of the two bedroom suites makes it perfect for two adult couples. The lanai is spacious and private, perfect for morning breakfast and evening cocktails. Would definitely stay here again.

A Fabulous On-Island Staycation

Our staycation was fantastic! With the Covid pandemic and the island opening up to tourists we specifically chose this unit because of its size and location (ground floor-minimal use of elevator). The unit was exactly as stated in the advertisement (clean, spacious, great appliances, etc) and yet so much more. Our little one loved the open lanai area where she could play, eat if she preferred to eat outside, and come and go to the pools easily. With so much space in and outside of the unit, she never felt cramped (another goal achieved). The high ceilings definitely added to the beauty, comfort, and uniqueness of the unit. The beds were so comfortable and we got the much needed rest and relaxation from our daily lives. When we needed to communicate with KBM they responded in a timely matter and took care of any concerns we had. We definitely would stay here again. Thank you KBM Hawaii!

Nothing short of amazing

This is our second time staying at Honua Kai and just like the first time it was hard to leave! This unit on the ground floor made it easy for our family to come and go with ease, but yet all the foliage gave you a sense of privacy as well. The gym and store are just steps away. KBM was great and even after our stay ended , they helped us find an important piece of property and mailed it back to us! Pools never felt too crowded even during spring break and the kids loved that the beach was right there.

Would stay here again!

As I'm planning my next getaway to Maui, I realized I never left a review for this place! We loved it so much we are looking at booking here again. Great for families. Tons of natural light, and the lanai was so nice. The place was very clean. Very close to the lobby, but no loud noises from it. Just around the corner from this condo is the resort market. The kitchen had everything we needed. Cant wait to come back!

Honua Kai never disappoints ! The condo was amazingly clean and spacious with all the necessities. Check-in was smooth as well as our departure. Having a ground level condo was very convenient for us. My family and I would definitely stay at Honua Kai 113 again.

Wonderful stay

This unit was perfect for our family. We specifically chose a ground floor unit which was so convenient with all the coming and going we did. The ONLY thing I would say is that our unit was difficult to locate initially. No one escorted us there and we ended up wandering around for quite a while trying to find it. There was no signage indicating where the 100 level rooms were. We were lost and ended up going back to the front desk to ask for directions. It did not detract from our overall stay and we would go back in a heartbeat!

No Ocean Views, Terrible Bed, Otherwise Nice Room

I was disappointed to find that the unit does NOT have ocean views, and there is no privacy on the patio whatsoever. The room is nice, and KBM did a good welcoming us with a box of Hawaiian chocolates. The bed in the master needs to be replaced, as it has an indentation that makes it feel like sleeping in a hammock (not good, especially if you are a stomach sleeper). Hanua Kai is a decent place, but the spa is a joke. Just splurge and go to the Montage Spa in Kapalua instead. If you are on a budget, just go anywhere else ;)
